  1. Funny, the book says if you're going to be not using the car for a month, disconnect the battery (and reset everything when you get back). Well, I'm on a 7 day trip with my car parked at the airport. I can't wait to get back at 10PM and find out if I have a battery. ChuckJ
  2. Is there any way to disconnect the car from the net and turn the non-essential electronics (i.e. radio) while you are gone for a week to save the battery? ChuckJ
  3. Yep, I get that Murph. I just thought there was a way to show if you were optimizing the mix. I'm reading that some people are paying $.30+ for a kWh. I was thinking there would be a way to let people know if they should be running on pure hybrid vs plug in. You can figure that out manually, of course. So not to beat a dead horse, but what's the advantage of tracking MPGe? ChuckJ
  4. Thanks, murphy. I thought there was an easy way to calculate the money saved by using electricity rather than fuel. And I'm really confused as to the 100MPG rating on the car if that's not the case. ChuckJ
  5. We have lost our AC several times now when we're making changing in the Sirius or nav. AC will restart when you press auto, but it's kind of annoying. Is anyone else having this issue? ChuckJ
  6. You also effect battery capacity by overcharging and deep discharging. Perhaps some manufactures are setting those so as to get a higher miles / charge rating while sacrificing battery life. ChuckJ
  7. Thanks, Russael. I now have that selected but it doesn't give me an opportunity to input the cost of electricity and I thought that would be a component. Is it not? ChuckJ
  8. Two 350 mile trips (one day each) and 45MPG at 70MPH. What I'm confused at is why the gas tank only takes 8.5 gallons when it gets to 1/4 tank. ChuckJ
  9. My logs show straight MPG (even in all EV drives) while most of you guys show MPGe. How are you showing MPGe? ChuckJ
  10. I think I've finally figured the driving score out. Tonight we went to dinner at a place 8.2 miles away and took the surface streets instead of the freeway; maxed out accel/brake/cruise bars in the coach and got a score of 93. Whoever said before that keeping it 35-40 is the way to maximizing score is correct... even with lots of lights in 100 degree temp. :) I'm going to take a trip this weekend and I think I'll keep the EV for use in the towns and any time I'm on the freeway, turn EV later on. ChuckJ
  11. My Ford Mobile App stopped logging trips today after my second trip. Is anyone else seeing this issue? ChuckJ
  12. I know this is probably dumb, but I can't get the MPGe rating in empower while driving. It that an option? ChuckJ
  13. My $500 one was not in their system. The following Monday I called Debra (a supervisor at Ford incentives -800-334-4375) and she called the dealer and straightened it out. The next day I went in and they were able to submit it. ChuckJ
  14. We've had several trips like yours (all ev) and the best we've got is 89 with a brake score of 99%. We accel at the second bar and I think we might have to cut it back to 1 bar. ChuckJ
  15. Nice work Murphy. I see you're over 14 volts; that should be good for battery health. ChuckJ
  16. Now that I bought the car I'v answered my own question; it does remote start the car (as well as lock and unlock it). :) ChuckJ
  17. Glad you found it; when this happens with a new car it can be frustrating! ChuckJ
  18. When you first plug in the HVB the engine battery should be charging over 14 volts. I would recommend this volt meter (Volt Minder). It plugs right into the cigarette lighter. http://www.voltminder.com/ ChuckJ
  19. Well, at least people now know they can get the $500 coupon instantly. ChuckJ
  20. I think you've figured out your problem. The 12 volt battery should be charging at 14+ volts when the car is plugged in. It's probably a relay or dead 300v to 12V (14V) converter. ChuckJ
  21. Wow, they looked under my name and didn't find it.....in fact, I looked with them. Interesting, when I called the supervisor for incentives, she didn't mention their was a better one. :) Well, I'm satisfied with what I got. ChuckJ
