California has lots of wind and sun that they could capture. Then there's natural gas. We have pure Solar companies here in Texas that charge about .13 / KWH. This is probably a political problem. ChuckJ

There's another noise that sounds like a pump or something. My 2011 Fusion hybrid also had this. ChuckJ

I'm not sure why some of you guys are paying $.30+ / KWH when some of us are paying $.08 any time of the day. That bears some looking into. ChuckJ

Evidently your salesman didn't give you a full orientation. :) ChuckJ

If you have easy entry, you could just put your fob in the center counsel and punch a couple numbers to get in. ChuckJ

We have averaged 60.1 MPGe with our general driving, but it all depends on how much over 25 mile driving you are doing between charges and long distance trips. The interesting thing that I find is that most of us treat MPGe like it's MPG. I think it's better than that. Think of it, if it costs $.10 / KWH to charge your car it would cost about $.75 to go 21 miles. At a gas cost of $3.00 / gal it would cost you about $1.50 to go the same 21 miles at 42 MPG. So really, we going twice as many miles for the same cost (41 miles for $1.50 instead of $3.00). So the MPGe seems really conservative to me. Am I missing something? ChuckJ

Yep, that's what we do. ChuckJ

I've got the Siemen also and love it! Seems now the car is always ready to use when I need it. ChuckJ

Request for Installation of Charging Stations Letter
ChuckJ replied to SteveEnergi's topic in Batteries & Charging
Would these be free ones? We have some in the area that charge $5 / month to charge at them, but they are not owned by the individual store, they are a consession. ChuckJ- 9 replies

Seeing more and more of them on the road now
ChuckJ replied to mergy's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
I've never seen one, but this is Texas. People focus on gas mileage only and calculate how many years it would take them to pay for the car. Really, I paid more for the Energi than I could have for the hybrid and get both better mileage and a smoother, quieter ride. I couldn't be happier! :) Chuck -
yep, I was talking about dimming of the high beams to the low beams. ChuckJ

Preparation Before Your 12 Volt Battery Dies
ChuckJ replied to murphy's topic in Batteries & Charging
I heard that the 12v battery is charged at the end of the plug in charge cycle. Mine seems to be alright so far and I hardly ever use the gas engine except for a couple of trips I've made. That said, I did buy a West Marine (Wagan) 600 amp starter battery / air compressor / LED light that I can put in the car if I'm going to park the car at the airport for a long period of time for example. http://www.amazon.com/Wagan-EL2509-Battery-Jumper-Compressor/dp/B0058RULIG/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1383484894&sr=8-18&keywords=600+amp+starter+battery ChuckJ -
My headlights automatically dim, but they do so with the slightest reflection off a sign or other object. Does anyone know how to adjust the sensitivity? ChuckJ

Welcome to the forum Kalistis. There is an amazing difference between the 120v vs the 240v charger. It takes me 2 hours for a full charge and that makes it so much more flexible. Be careful to get a full capability charger as there are different levels of the level 2 charger. I got the Siemens 30 amp charger and love it. I would recommend the "bottom fed" that just plugs into a socket so you can take it with you if you move. Here's the URL http://www.amazon.com/Siemens-VC30BLKB-VersiCharge-Electric-Vehicle/dp/B0083ZZFEA/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1383416544&sr=1-1&keywords=siemens+charger ChuckJ

Did you use up all the hybrid battery also? That's when it usually takes 7 kwh. ChuckJ

That's the one I have and I agree, it's great!! ChuckJ

I basically got the deal that you're looking for. If you're willing to buy in FT Worth, TX, PM me and I'll turn you on to a sales manager that may be able to help. ChuckJ

Welcome and congratulations!! Enjoy your new ride! ChuckJ

I've never been able to get 100% when I had to stop quickly for an unexpected stop light no matter what strategy I used. ChuckJ
-
Yep, you have to start your stop early. It also is looking for consistent pressure. If a light turns and you have to respond to it at the last minute you're not likely to get 100%, so don't worry about it. ChuckJ

I requested my brochure and coupon 4 months ago and never got it. I used a Facebook $500 instead so I wouldn't run out of vehicle choice. ChuckJ

Agree, that will be interesting! ChuckJ

No mater what you end up doing to solve this problem, I think you are going to love the L2 result. The Energi really is a different asset with this capability! ChuckJ
