I bought a 30 amp Siemens charger in September 2013. It has worked perfectly until today when I got a "fault" light. I didn't know where to start so I called Siemens 800-743-6367. A got a very responsive customer service person who told me to do a "hard" set by unplugging it for 1.5 hours. She started a service request and a tech called me within 1/2 hour. He said there is also a soft set by pressing the start button twice, but that since we were already into the hard reset, let that finish and he would call me and check the result. He called right on time, we plugged it back in and it works great. He gave me his personal number in case the problem comes back. GREAT SERVICE!. ChuckJ

I did buy the oil change package, it was not very expensive and they work on it every 7500 miles. ChuckJ -

2013 Fusion Energi Suffers from Sloppy Programming

Kim: Since you're on the thread, my left display has beeped and flashed something a couple of times but whatever the issue goes away in milliseconds and you can't see anything but a part of a dialogue box disappearing. Have you had any experience with that issue. Chuck -
Jeff: Two questions: 1. if it is non-refundable and the taxpayer doesn't have that much tax required, can the balance it be carried over to the next year? 2. If you lease the car, are you qualified for the tax incentive? ChuckJ

Larry: I recognize the inefficiency and think that should be included. Tseibel76: Where can we get a 50 amp, 220 volt Kill-a-watt for our 220v chargers? Kim: Can you address whether it's possible to include the efficiency of specific chargers to include in this option? ChuckJ

Kim: One thing that I believe is misleading in the Energi is the MPGe. For engineers, it's technically correct but for users it provides misleading, understated results. What's important to many of us, and what caused us to buy the Energi is saving money on gas. And many people think hybrids and electric cars can't pay for themselves in a reasonable period of time. Right now my MPGe says that I have 58.5 MPGe for the 5000 miles I've owned the car but really it's much better than that from a cost standpoint. We all pay different rates for the electricity. For us, we pay $.09 per kwh. If it takes 7 kwh to fill up the battery and get 21 miles it cost about $.75 for the 21 miles. If I get 42 mpg for a gallon of gas it cost me $1.6 for the 21 miles or more than double. I propose, therefore to have a mod to the software to allow users to use MPGc (miles per gallon based on a cost basis) where you enter the average cost of gas in your area and the average cost of electricity and the car gives you MPGc if you choose to use this criteria. This would give people a more accurate comparison of gas cost to electricity cost of driving. ChuckJ

I bought a 600 amp quick start jumper from West Marine for $65 for exactly this reason. ChuckJ

Is Ford Fusion Energi least reliable electric car?
ChuckJ replied to Charlie3831's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
We've had our Titanium since August and have had zero problems with reliability! ChuckJ -
I would also like to welcome you Ashley. I was just thinking about asking if anyone on the forum was from the Ford Technical community. One thing we would all probably be interested is future improvements for the Energi. Trunk space, EV range, ICE growl, new electronic goodies, pointing / LED headlights, etc. for the 2016 and future / mid life upgrade come to mind. ChuckJ

Did you have auto high beam dimming and if so, does it work as well or better than the original? ChuckJ -
Yep, we get spoiled with that quiet, smooth environment, though I haven't heard it yet at highway speeds and we've taken several trips. I think when you have any hybrid battery left it doesn't growl, but I'm not sure. ChuckJ
