  1. Just passed 1K on mine. I put gas in it a few days after I received the vehicle (had to use gas since the HV battery wasn't charged on delivery). I put gas in last week - 4.8 gallons after going 651 miles since my last fill-up. Well, my numbers did change from 50 to 83. Neither of these numbers make sense...
  2. Could the blinking circle be an Error of Probability circle? Meaning that your true location could be anywhere within that circle. Problem with this thought is that the circle never changes size. As the number of visible satellites changes, I'd expect the EOP to change size as well. In any case - I too wish I could turn it off or, if it is an EOP, use it to ascertain how accurate my current position is.
  3. Interesting point. I have just over 1K miles on mine, and an 85% EV ratio. So - do my oil change intervals change from the normal 3 months 3500 miles? If I am only putting 100 ICE miles/month, I'll always be "time limited" vs "miles limited". It will take me close to 3 years to reach 3500 ICE miles. Now I now that on the Volt, it "tells" you when it needs an oil change. Guess I'll have to crack open the owner's manual and see what it has to say...
  4. I had the same dilemma 3 weeks ago - I went with the Energi since it was actually less than the hybrid. Also, because my 1-way commute is ~8 miles each way, I have a large EV ratio. One other item to keep in mind is that the hybrid has a higher mpg at 47 vs our 43 when in hybrid mode. If your commute/driving style is such that you spend most of your time burning gas, the hybrid may better suit your needs. Both are great vehicles, and for me the Energi was the right choice.
  5. We get raked over the coals here in SD. Rates just went up beginning Sept. Also, rates favor those further inland (assumption is they need AC). Being coastal I get doubly dinged! I'd consider solar, but only plan on keeping the house another 2-3 years...
  6. I'd like the rear of this car - cover up the asymmetric "tailpipe with bright tip" that my Titanium has...
  7. Just got it installed. Permit was $276. Here's what it looks like: As it was being installed, I got a follow-up phone call from SDG&E. I'm finally on their EVTOU-2 plan, so charging from midnight to 5:00 am will now cost me $0.16/kWh vs the $0.36 I was paying...

  13. Works fine - you just can't respond to the text. Make sure that you have turned on notifications under bluetooth.
  14. 3.3 KW? Isn't the battery 7.6 KW? I ask only because I today got my first electric bill since getting my Energi - $350. While I signed over to SDG&E's EVTOU-2 rate plan the day I got the car, they seem to be taking their sweet time in changing my billing. So, instead of paying $0.16/kWh, I paid $0.36/kWh. Called to complain - only to be told that it takes 2 months for the switch to happen. So, the 22 mile range cost me $2.736 (7.6*0.36) - whereas gas would cost me 22/43*3.89, or $1.99 (based on 43 mpg). For now, gas is cheaper, at least in San Diego under Tier 4 (over over 641 kWh/mo). Seems like they want to gouge their customers for two months of higher energy costs for the privilege of owning an EV. Once I finally get the EVTOU-2 plan, it will drop to $1.216 per charge, which is better than gas. Fortunately, there is a shopping center 3 miles away that has a free PEP charging station... SDG&E sucks...
  15. Very good point Murphy - thanks. I guess I'll have them replace instead of strip.
  16. OK - so I gave my Energi its first wash yesterday, followed by my first coat of Zaino. There I noticed that the driver's side door FUSION badging is falling off - the F and U are barely hanging on. It looks as if the tape is delaminating. I have my first trip to the dealer set for next Monday. Wondering if I should have this replaced or just have them remove the badging on both sides (including the Energi badge) - and just keep the FUSION, Titanium, and Energi in the rear. Any thoughts?
  17. Just ordered it. Now to wait 8-12 weeks...

  19. Installed mine tonight. Directions were to measure from the bottom of the door - 14.25 in the front, and 15.25 in the rear. Stretched blue tape from between these two points. the bottom of the tape became the top of the strip. Looks like this:
  20. OK - I've had my Energi since 9/11. Tonight, while driving home, I change the ambient lighting color via MFT. Soon after, I go to use a voice command. I'm ignored. Try it a few more times, same result. Soon after, I go to use the steering wheel control to lower the volume. No effect. Change lanes - nothing. Turn on wipers - 10 second delay then it works. Go to manually turn on the hi-beams, it works. Suddenly, all of the above start working. Weird. Guess I'll see if it repeats then perhaps go back to the dealer. Any thoughts?
  21. Yes - I saw this - but mine was built in June - well after the date of the TSB. Having it looked at next week...
  22. I did, but it does not show up as a saved location. I want "Home" to use value charging and pretty much everything else to be default set to charge now. When parked at home, it uses default - so I have to remember to set it to value each time (assuming that I changed it to charge now at a free public spot). Annoying... Do not know why Home does not show up under saved locations. Or, for that matter, why there isn't a reset that will let me "reestablish" home. As in the case of moving...
