Tell me about it. I have a 13 character WPA2 password for my wifi. I had to create a limited access guest network with a shorter password just to try to connect. Seeing that the being connected while in my garage didn't really do much for me, I disable it. Now waiting for an iOS 7 jailbreak zoo I can use my unlimited data on my iPhone 5s!

Jesse - there is a guy here from CA (Fat Fusion?) who had a dealer that did the same. He received his in a couple weeks. I, on the other hand, did not have a dealer that did this. I had to wait 4 weeks for my registration and immediately sent out the form. It has been 3 weeks today since I sent it in, and my check has yet to be cashed... :-(

I've had mine for less than 2 months and just over 1900 miles - hasn't worn off yet. Oh - not sure how bad your LA electric bill is, but here in San Diego it is pretty bad. I was able to move my billing to an EVTOU2 (time of day) rate which has substantially lowered my electric bill. Instead of having the majority of my bill at the $0.36/kWh tier, my max rate is now $0.29 from noon till 6:00, with the rest of the day at $0.19. From midnight to 5:00 am, it is $0.16. Set the car to charge then (and the pool filter to go off then) and have saved over $100 per month just in electricity. Add in the $200 per month I am saving in gas, and this car is practically paying for itself. After the state/Fed rebates/credits, my Titanium cost me about $33K. Keep it 8 years, and that is less than $350/month. Saving $300/month, car effectively costs me $50/month (assuming I keep it 8 years). Of course, we are ignoring future value of $$ as well as opportunity costs of the money I paid, but still - not bad for such a nice ride! Oh - about the distance/charge, I tend to drive with the power display in the center console. Look at how large the circles are for climate. I tend to just turn off the AC or heat and use the vent for my short EV trips, making use of the pre-conditioning. You'll find that that will help. Enjoy!

Welcome - great great choice in color! My other ride is an '05 G35. 110K miles on it but it is still fun to drive. Funny - I do everything possible in the Energi to maximize mpg, but every so often I have to get in the G35 and waste some gas - not care about regenerative braking or accelerating too fast. Also, In the MFT website, I listed the G35 as a comparison point. I've got just over 1900 miles on the Energi and compared to the 18 mpg on the G35 I've saved over 80 gallons of fuel and a "Blimp" worth of CO2!

In San Diego, I've seen four others to date. Still see a lot more Teslas than Energis

Got the qualitycarmats.com mat today. Not as large as the one from Ford (per Taylor's picture). Here it is:

Curious - does your state have a lemon law? An acquaintance of mine had a similar problem with a Prius plug-in. after 5 attempts to get it fixed, he threatened to sue. Toyota refunded full price with tax and license less $142 for milage. He has owned the car sins February. He's now looking at a CMax Energi...

Wow. I listed the time of day usage above. This is what the tiered system that I had was like: Not the this was thru 9/24. I bought the Energi on 9/11, so less than half the time was during when I owned the car.

San Diego - using SDG&E's EVTOU2 plan is: Peak (noon - 6:00 pm) $0.29/kWh Super off-peak (midnight - 5:00 am) $0.16/kWh Off-peak (the other 13 hours per day) $0.19/kWh. Yep - I charge from midnight to 5:00 am...

Discovered this one today. I was charging my iPhone using the USB and placed it in the cup holder. In trying to route the cable, I noticed that there is a notched area to route cables out of the armrest without crimping.

Hard to tell about the buttons. However, I have never had to use them since MFM starts and stops the charging based upon rules that you set up (mine is set to charge from midnight to 5 am). To charge immediately, I just press charge now on the touch screen. Page 55 of the manual (link in previous post) states" The Charging Dock is designed for a permanently wired installation indoors in a garage or outdoors (in a carport or on a pedestal). While the Charging Dock is designed to be weatherproof, the customer may wish to consider adding personal protection from wet weather for his/her convenience. So, you should be good to go. If the buttons were really a concern, you could always just cover them with something like clear 2" packing tape...

No, I usually have the plug draped over an unused stationary bike (my bad). The model is EVSE-RS. You can download the manuals at: http://evsolutions.avinc.com/products/at_home Hey - hope your "code" errors get resolved soon! Wish I had gotten my stickers as quickly as you did. Had to wait 4 weeks to get the plates/registration, sent off the form 2 weeks ago, and my check has yet to be cashed...

I have one of the free ones. On 9/11, there were 22 of the original 600 left. It is hard wired in. My only cost was for the permit - $260. I believe that even that is tax deductable. Here's what I have:

Go to https://support.ford.com/tools/account/home. The dealer set up my account when I bought the car. If you don't have an account, you can create it using your VIN. The updates are downloaded there. The directions will walk you through downloading to a USB stick and then how to use this in the car to update. BTW - I'm on Gen2 V3.6.2. After installing the update in the car, up update process will add a file to the USB stick that you then need to upload to let SYNC know that you are up to date. For some reason, the car can't just let SYNC know this...

I usually just drive with the fans venting in air. Steps: 1: turn AC off (physical button) 2: Touch screen/climate. Notice that the vent position has a white box around it (as does the fan speed). Touch a vent position (white box goes away - no longer auto). 2.5: For maximum energy savings, set the temperature to the outside temp. This way you are not heating or cooling the incoming air. 3: Set the fan speed (via touch screen). The white box goes away (no longer auto). 4: switch back to the power display. The climate should now show no draw. I have a Titanium, so the display may be a little different with the non-titanium. I showed a CMax Energi user how to do this. The display was different, but it still worked. In coastal San Diego, I rarely need AC unless traveling inland.

No problems here except with the scheduled to charge and needs to be plugged in. I have it set to start charging at 12:00 am. Don't need a 5:30 p.m. warning... Finally disabled the text.

BTW - the $3750 has now been raised to $4007 based upon the size of the battery.

I'm going to be going on a long trip over the holidays. If I assume that I can find a plug at a hotel, I'd still be nervous having the L1 factory supplied charger out in the open. If I assume that I can use a heavy duty extension cord, I think I'll try to get a thick cable lock to lock the unit to either the front left wheel or some other convenient point.

Had to use the fob to unlock then it wouldn't move

Hmm... Key fob - left front pants pocket. iPhone - right front pants pocket. Guess I'm good to go!! :) -
That's pretty bad that your VIN is not being accepted. You already verified that it is correct by going to the two other sites if I recall. Frankly, my dealer had me set up MFM and Sync while in his office. We downloaded the iPhone app as well. I remember thinking "does this guy think I'm an idiot or what?" - now I'm glad he did. Did you try to have your dealer take care of it? From your other posts, I know that you are tech savy - I'd lay this on your dealer. This is just too weird...
