I tried searching for an answer and found multiple different responses, so I'm hoping that I can get a more definitive answer here.
I purchased a used 2018 Fusion Hybrid about a week ago, and it's been pretty great! However, I'm not sure if the battery charging is working the way it's supposed to. When I first got it, the battery icon was at about a 1/3rd charge. I took quite a bit of time driving slowly and steadily until I got the battery to 100%. The next time I started it, it was back to 1/3rd. This immediately made me think that there was perhaps an issue with the battery, but I have seen other people online saying their's do the same thing (while others say their's will start full and gradually go down).
What's throwing me off, though, is that I've also noticed that sometimes when I start the car, it goes strait to EV; while others (even if I'm on an angle and don't need any acceleration assistance) it will immediately turn the motor on and start idling. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it, and I want to make sure there's no major issue with my car.
