  1. Is there no way to display the tire PSI readings from the TPMS sensors which I know these tires have? I could find no where to enable this in any of the display settings.
  2. Yep, I can confirm on my 2015 that the display does NOT show gallons used. My wife's 2014 does. I could find no way to change in settings to allow this to show gallons used. Kindof strange they would take that away.
  3. One thing I have noticed about the heated seats with my (1 day old) 2015 FFET. When using heated seats, I could hear a "fan" running on mine (I also have the cooled seats option). My wife's 2014 has heated seats only and I have never heard a "fan". My butt couldn't really tell much difference though between the two....LOL.
  4. Ha, mmurphy.....yep I'm thinking I lose out on priority, however I did install the EVSE. Good thing I leave for work about an hour earlier than my wife. I will plug in last at night and be able to precondition with go times first then plug her back in for her precondition.
  5. Well, since my Acadia was totalled after getting rear-ended last week, I have decided to join my wife and get a second FFET in our family! Picking up my new almost loaded 2015 Magnetic/Black leather Titanium next week!
  6. On another note.....my GMC Acadia was totaled last week when I was rear-ended by a utility/bucket truck. Seriously thinking about getting a FFE myself.
  7. After over 3 weeks have passed, it really hasn't improved any. I can only guess the "timing" just hit of consistently colder weather, but still don't understand why it was averaging 26-30 (on the display/MFM and actual driving) and now my wife says the best she has gotten is 22, and lately even lower (like today she only got about 15 - same exact route she has always taken to work, and she used to always consistently make it the 21 miles with miles to spare on the indicator). Really hope the dealer didn't completely screw something up.
  8. I didn't have the heater on when I dropped it off, but they may have turned it on. I am going to assume the reprogramming "unlearned" my wife's very conservative driving habits (and hence high average battery range). Hopefully it will increase after she drives it a few times.
  9. Had Ruby serviced for first time yesterday. Was at 11,000 miles, and oil life still had 48% but check engine light was on. Had 39.95 oil change, tires rotation, multi-point inspection done and dealer found an emissions related sensor bad (vapor pressure sensor I think?). The ticket says they reprogrammed the PCM and replaced the bad sensor. My question is, could the reprogramming of the PCM/replacing the sensor have caused the calculated battery only range to "reset" to a default value of 21 miles max on full charge? We have been averaging 26-30 miles on a full charge the last couple of months (colder weather). We averaged 30-35 in the summer months. The first thing I noticed was that when I dropped it off, I had 19 miles range remaining and when picked up had only 13 miles range, but they didn't drive it anywhere but in the service bay. I assumed it could have just drained during service if they left the power on etc, but when fully charging at home last night, the full battery now only indicates 21 miles total range.
  10. No excuse in my opinion for AUTO headlamps to not be standard in ALL vehicles and not defeatable. GM has had this feature in almost all but the most stripped down models for 15 years or so. It amazes me how many people accept a luxury vehicle such as Lexus/Acura that doesn't even have that as a basic feature. And the previous poster is correct, many of these "import luxury cars" and even most Toyotas/Hondas have backlit dashboards and DRLs, so these folks will drive around in the pitch dark not even realizing they have NO tail lights on!
  11. Interesting, but this should never happen. From most people I have talked to with other brands of cars with keyless entry, if you try to close the trunk with the key fob in it, the trunk will pop back open preventing you from locking your key fob inside. I guess Ford decided since they have the code on the door, that feature wasn't needed. Glad my wife programmed a code in.
  12. Don't believe the "sticker" ratings, the Energi will yield better mpg than the hybrid when in hybrid only mode, due the larger storage capacity of the HV battery which can hold more capacity during regen. We consistently get mid 50s mpg plus when in hybrid mode only (Prius territory).
  13. Why not take a look at the Ford Explorer 4WD in Titanium trim? Will have the same luxury interior/options you love in your Fusion Energi Titanium. And I'll bet it will be less than the Acura MDX as well.
  14. Ford, WAKE UP and put LED DRLs on these models (all Hybrids and Energis), or at least on the Titanium trim levels.
  15. Yep, I confirmed (and this is really weird). I can get into the vent only mode, but if the temp setting is anything but "LO", then the battery range is reduced same as if the a/c compressor was actually on (even though air blowing through vents is unconditioned). I tried it first and knew I was in vent mode, but the temp settings were still at 72F. When I reduced them to "LO", it added about 3 miles back to the EV range.
  16. I'll take the money, but still baffling on the Energi PHEV models. This move damaged Ford's credibility in the PHEV and Hybrid marketplace. The move was warranted on the Hybrid models, but we (and most others) are greatly exceeding the original EPA estimates in both mpg in hybrid mode and real world electric only range in the PHEV models.
  17. I wish I drove the car more, I will try it again next time I drive it and see if it restores to the previous miles estimate before turning a/c on.
  18. Glad someone explained this as it is a discombobulated process to get "vent only" without a/c compressor operation. One thing that still confuses me is why the "reduction in HVB range" is the same on the display whether or not I have vent only mode or a/c compressor operation (about 3 miles on average). I don't drive the car very much though, so maybe it would "learn" that using vent only mode doesn't actually reduce EV range as much.
  19. Yeah, I would like that check soon as well! I guess the reason for derating is that the "real world" results can widely vary depending on how much A/C usage someone utilizes, the reduced range in winter in much colder climates and if you live in fairly flat topography, you don't get nearly as many regen miles. I guess this car is really well suited to greatly achieve rated efficiency in mild climates and with lots of hilly terrain for regen.
  20. Thanks for the insight. I don't drive our Energi very much (sad face), but I know that my wife drives mostly all EV and we have had (up until this week) temps in the mid-high 90s and she has never noticed the ICE coming on due to excessive battery heat. I also know that she drives alot without A/C to maximize her range, but I am assuming she turns A/C on periodically. One plus for her is we park in garage at home and she parks in a parking deck at work, so rarely is she starting out in a car with 140+ indoor temps due to sitting out in the direct sunlight for hours.
  21. I'm curious. I know the HVB battery is cooled by cabin air, but I have also noticed there is a reservoir with engine coolant in it on top of the traction motor assembly. What is that there for? To cool the traction motor windings? Also, I know that the Volt's batteries are "liquid cooled" which they claim will increase life. Wonder why Ford doesn't liquid cool the HVB?
  22. And THAT, my friends, is why we (and many other Energi drivers) regularly achieve much higher than Ford/EPA estimated mpg when in hybrid mode in these models. My wife regularly returns in the 50s mpg highway and over 60 mpg city when in hybrid only mode. I STILL do not understand why in the heck Ford/EPA DERATED the Energi models to have LOWER mpg ratings than the hybrid models. It defies all reason and "real world" results.
  23. Awesome, did you put in yourself? If so, what site did you purchase from?
  24. My wife just filled up for the second time yesterday.....she has over 3500 miles on it. I drove "Ruby" to work today since my wife is off and had no where she needed to go.
  25. FYI, you can get a FFE SE pretty comparatively equipped to an Accord for less than $30K if you shop around. We would have paid about $31K after the tax refund for our FFE Titanium if we had purchased, but we leased.
