  1. I'm wondering if I have a problem with my cooled seats, or if others experience similar performance. When FIRST turning on cooled seats, I feel cool air both from the seat bottom on my butt and rear on my lower back. After having on for several minutes (maybe 10-15 minutes later) I seem to be getting much less "cool air" overall, and eventually only feel cooling on the seat bottom. The rear actually feels like it starts HEATING and even after recycling on/off, I can't get ANY cooling out of the rear/lower rear of seat-back....it literally feels as if the seat HEATERS are on in the rear portion of the seat.
  2. Here's a recommendation for Ford - CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE ARE YOU LISTENING? Instead of TAKING AWAY detailed views such as mpge, lifetime summary and now estimated miles EV range on top of the battery icon just because the whiny simpletons complain about it....here is what you should do. LEAVE the detailed data settings AVAILABLE as an option for those of us smart enough and educated enough to read/interpret that data, but just change the DEFAULT FACTORY SETUP to the "simpleton" mode that you think will reduce complaints. BUT DON'T TAKE AWAY THE ABILITY FOR US TO HAVE THAT INFORMATION COMPLETELY!!!!!!!!! That way, those of us who LIKE our highly advanced car can read the manual and enable ALL the available options if we want to!
  3. What is your average all electric range like? Is it less than first 10k miles or about the same?
  4. Two FFETs here, 15K on the '14 and 3K on the '15. Great cars so far with no issues. wife has a lifetime average of 146 MPG on her '14 and I have 97 MPG avg on my '15 so far, doubt you'll get anything close to that on a Toyota hybrid.
  5. Welcome pioneer. We love both our FFEs. I seriously considered the Volt due to the almost double battery only range, but seating only for 4 outweighed the diminished trunk space for me :-) Here's wishing you many miles of happy motoring. It will be nice to hear comparisons from a former Volt owner on our Energi.
  6. Sorta bummed, but would have rather they "hid" the exhaust outlet altogether since this is a vehicle you can drive in electric only mode alot. I'm more bummed that Ford didn't do anything more than badging to differentiate the "Energi" model from regular Fusions. I am driving Ford's most technologically advanced, electric-hybrid model in LOADED Titanium trim and should have at least gotten LED DRLs and HID or LED headlights.
  7. Had my FFE for 3.5 weeks. Typically have about 25 miles range after charging in garage when NOT using the heater (preheating before I leave and using only seat heaters). Temps have been in 20s at night and 40s-50s during the day. When I use the heater, I lose about 6-8 miles of range. Wife's 2014 has been similar.
  8. I probably should have posted this in the "climate control" section. Mods, feel free to move this thread if you would like. Hopefully Ford will see this and consider implementing on the next gen Energi and Electric models.
  9. Ford engineers should have implemented this feature into the Energi models. http://www.myfordmag.com/news/transit-connect-windshield-defroster I'm not sure how much kW this uses, but it's got to be way more efficient than turning on the HVAC system defrost (which draws 5 kW and quickly drains the HVB) which I only use to defog the windshield so I can actually see where I'm going! I know the rear defroster doesn't use much electricity at all because it doesn't reduce the electric range when on. I understand you can't use the same type "grid line" defroster on the front windshield, but if Ford HAS this technology in their stable, why didn't they implement it on the Energi models?
  10. Yes, there is a $4,507 federal rebate available. You will file for it on your 2014 tax return (if you purchased car in 2014). If you use Turbo Tax or other tax prep software, it will ask you if you purchased a qualifying Plug-in electric vehicle. If you leased (like I did) then you can't claim it as the lessor (Ford Credit) will subtract it from the capitalized cost calculation of the vehicle for the lease payments.
  11. I will admit, I HAVE been putting up with the cold...it's the window fogging I can't stand. Speaking of that, I tried Rain X interior window cleaner "anti fog" and it is crap. Anybody have any suggestions for a better window cleaner that will minimize fog/haze?
  12. First upgrade is an easy one and makes a huge difference IMHO. Bought these LED bulbs for the license plate lamps from SuperBrightLEDs https://www.superbrightleds.com/moreinfo/miniature-wedge-base/194-led-bulb-6-smd-led-wedge-base-tower/1728/4112/ And here they are installed. These strike the perfect balance to me...are not TOO bright, but much brighter than the standard bulbs.
  13. Couple of better pictures since the weather's been nicer last few days.
  14. Can anyone summarize what display functionality has been removed from '14 and '15 models? The only ones that I am aware of are: 1) 2013: MPGe; 2014-15: MPG only 2) 2013-14: kWh AND Gals. used at end of trip; 2015: Only kWh used at end of trip Are there any other functions missing? I wonder if these functions could be "re-enabled" if enough petitioning was done by us owners?
  15. Also, I LOVE the new 2015 Titanium wheels. MUCH better look, easier to keep clean and differentiates between the SE wheels. I like how Ford mimicked the standard Fusion Titanium trim wheels, even though they are 17" instead of 19" to maintain the LRR tires. Ford, I still wish you had included (at least on the Titanium trim) LED DRLs and HID or LED headlights (similar to the Mondeo design) to further differentiate these "state of the art" plug-in hybrids from the normal Fusions.
  16. Picked up MY 2015 FFE Titanium in Magnetic w/black interior last Wednesday. Of course it's been rainy since then, lol, so I had to pull it into warehouse at work to get a good picture. Loving it so far, since I've had it home am averaging over 800 MPG commuting to work, church, grocery and kids activities. Guess wife and I will be jockeying for efficiency ratings, lol. Although I will be on the highway quite a bit more than her. Also, I'm not as patient with "unconditioned interior" and putting up with window fogging, etc....so I am quicker on the trigger to turn on climate control than her.
  17. Ummmm, that better not even be a QUESTION! I would certainly hope that if you own a vehicle under warranty that FORD is paying for a LOANER!!!!!!!!
  18. Well, yesterday (the day I picked up my new Energi) she was back up to 30 miles elec range, so everything seems to be back to learning her driving. Either that, or Ruby sensed the new dog about to be in town and wanted to "show out"....lol.
