About Tombennettt

  1. 2015 Ford Fusion Energi Platnium 117.000 miles So I’ve been having this problem since around February, it all started on my way to work on an unusually cold day, the wrench light came on.. didn’t think too much about it since everything still seemed to work fine.. after few weeks later finally got a check engine light to come on with a P0A81 code for the hybrid battery pack fan failed to turn on or failed to close.. did some digging on google and didn’t really come up with much, I found that it only really happens when it was cold out, since summer was coming again didn’t pay it much mind....until driving home one day the battery light would come on along with the CEL and the wrench.. so i went and bought a new battery, everything was working great for a couple of months, the weather got nicer and it feel to the back of my mind... AND THEN! I saw the wrench light again and the CEL so I figured now was the time to do something about it.. I folded my back seats down and always drive with my windows down so the battery got some airflow... it works like a charm. But now it’s going to get colder and I should stop being lazy.. I got to the fans and found neither of them would turn on even though I am only getting the code for the one, I swapper the connectors to the other fan and still would only get the number 1 fan fail, I only get about 5 miles out of a charge because I assume it heats up too much and kills the charging to protect itself.. I find it hard to believe that both fans would go out at the same time, so I inspected some of the wiring (I’ve read things about the wiring being shorted to ground) but didn’t really find anything..I’m out of ideas and don’t want to pay someone to do something if it’s as simple as replacing a fan Has anyone else seen something like this?
