  1. Meyersnole, I believe you mentioned having installed front and rear molded mudflaps. Do you like the way they look? I picked up the rear mudflaps the other day but the front are on back order.

    Black Beauty

Beauty!! The clear bra will most definitely save your front end from rock chips, etc. I had one stalled too...it's essential in the desert.
  3. Way to go DelS. I know just how you feel. I'm three weeks into driving mine and STILL don't have all the kinks ironed out. Congrats!!!! :hi5:

    DSCN6012

Yeah, I am out every morning with a duster and micro fiber cloth detailing the car. I wonder how long the honeymoon will last?
  5. A nice story...welcome to the forum Ashamam! Just think of all the agony you were spared in trying to figure out when your car would be built, shipped and delivered. It all just sort of happened at once. Let us know when you take delivery.
  6. No, not removed, except for the cup holders in the center console. The lights at your feet on both sides and door panel wells should light up. Make sure your light intensity is set to high in the dash setup and note they are very hard to see during the day time. Better viewed at night with your lamp (or headlight) switch set to one of the on positions.
  7. I had the same experience with Auto Mode. It used up my EV battery right away on the freeway so I started using EV Later on my longer trips or when on the freeway, with much better results. I took an 80 mile round trip jaunt the other night using EV late,r once I got on the freeway, but I did not write down the figures. From memory, I got around 46.5 mpge and used a little over 1 gallon of gas. When I got about 4 miles from home, and still on the freeway, I had 8 miles left on my EV battery so I put the car in EV Now and had one mile left on the battery when I turned the car off. I used the ECO cruise set at 70 mph when on the freeway. I have yet to travel over 100 miles in one trip but I expect the overall mpg's to be less then 38-40 mpg, depending on how fast I am driving and the terrain, and that will be a real drag on my lifetime mpge (which are at about 80 now with 700 miles on the car). That should not be a surprise to anyone, I don't think.
  8. Dels will only get the $1,000 lease conquest if he is coming off of another auto maker's lease program and leasing the Energi, within 30 days of the end of the original lease or some time from like that. And if he leases the Energi he will not get a tax credit of $3750, but they will reduce the price of the car by that much. I haven't looked at the incentives recently but that was the offer when I took delivery of my car.
  9. Exactly Jeff, I have traveled a lot of this world and don't have any qualms about traveling 5-600 miles to get a good deal. However, we live in a small community here and I try to give my local vendors my business, so they are there when I need them. Our local Ford dealer is our only dealer for about 35 miles, although it does stock other makes and models other than Ford. I only asked to be treated fairly and I believe the Dealer tried hard...not so much Ford.
  10. I think it was jberger that said Arizona is still the Wild West and the Dealers here do some stuff the rest of them can't, or won't, do. I am in Tucson and my salesman was still giving me the song and dance that they were still going to ask two grand over MSRP for the Energi when I balked because they would not give me the $750 on a coupon from Ford that expired. They said they would just put the car on the lot for sale and I said "go ahead, and I will go to San Diego and buy one of their cars, identical to mine, for less money then I am paying you". You should have see the look on their faces. If they sold an Energi for 10k over MSRP and let howardbc hear that conversation, they should all be fired. It's one thing to gloat amongst themselves about laying some poor sucker away but it's highly unprofessional to do it in earshot of customers. I hope they all starve to death. Howardbc, for a PDF of the Energi Owners Manual go to: http://www.motorcraftservice.com/vdirs/retail/default.asp?pageid=&gutsid=&kevin=rules and click on Owners Guides, on the left panel, and then 2013, Fusion Hybrid/Energi and then what you want to see, then View Content.
  11. Yesterday I had my highest battery charge to date, at 28 miles. Normally, when the charge is over 21 miles it drops off pretty quickly but this time it held and I made a 16 mile round trip all in EV Now mode, with the first half of the trip on side roads and the second half on the freeway at 70 mph and AC on. I had 2 miles of battery left when I pulled into the garage. If I was on a motorcycle, I would have bugs on my teeth.
  12. A beauty TechOps! Did you sleep with that smile on your face? Love it!
  13. Ditto! Where in OC, MonkeyButt? I lived in Cowan Heights (Tustin) for awhile and in San Pedro before moving here. Also had a place in Parker, on the AZ side, two miles below the dam on the river.
  14. Good points and advice. I'd hate to end up using the car for a planter. I misled you a bit though, the $600 was all inclusive, parts and labor.
  15. Yes, I found Mr Electric to be proud of their work. I've looked into these guys before but never saw the benefit in my area. However, I would never tackle anything like what you just described. Especially when you're talkin' about water in the electrical box and stuff...electricity off, or no. It's how I got to be 69 years old.
  16. Yeah, Mr Electric offered me a whole house surge protector, when he was here installing the charger, for $600 installed. I'm still digesting that one. I already have one on everything going to my TV.
  17. Tick, tick, tick, it's like watching a pot of water boil...seems to take forever. Actually 12 weeks is about what one should expect, but sooner is better. I know you are anxious and I would guess you may be driving your car by next Friday, if you get lucky.
  18. Yippee! Another one bites the dust (song). Early congrats TechOps!! :hi5:
  19. I had my first opportunity to clean those wheels yesterday and after that experience I think I might just park the car on the curb with the wheels leaning against the hubs, just to see if I could get someone to take them, LOL.
  20. Will wheel locks really keep anyone from stealing the wheels? Or just slow them down?
  21. I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that the larger charger will do a much better job of keeping up with the demand when preheating or cooling the car while plugged in though. A point that Russael made.
  22. I took the ESP for 7 years, 75k miles, put Tuff Coat (synthetic) on the paint and what a gloss, once a synthetic coat is on the paint I recommend using a micro fiber cloth when washing or cleaning the finish...shammy doesn't work well (sticks on the synthetic), wax is unnecessary but only use a high grade Carnauba wax if you do wax the car, I also installed the 3M Invisible Shield vinyl covering on the front bumper, headlamps, hood and mirrors (I would have done all for doors too but could not find a kit for them), mudflaps have been on order for over a week, installed UV/IR window tint, the all weather floor mats that came with the car fit nicely in the foot wells in the front and back but show the dirt easily since they are black, ordered the sun screen that meyersnole recommended.
  23. I think I agree with you on the SPEED issue but the Ford L2 charger has a 32 amp, 7.68 kVa input/output. Specs here: https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=a9cf5f77e2ad295c&id=A9CF5F77E2AD295C!410&Bsrc=SkyMail&Bpub=SDX.SkyDrive&sc=Documents&authkey=!AKvnlvuK7sr_I5E#cid=A9CF5F77E2AD295C&id=A9CF5F77E2AD295C!411&sc=Documents&authkey=!AKvnlvuK7sr_I5E.
