  1. Where in CA are you? Any hills? What gauge, on your left, are you viewing...Engage, Empower, etc? What you are experiencing is not normal. I also assume you have tried running the A/C in the recirculation mode, not outside air. That has made all the difference in the world in keeping my ICE from running on hot days. It really does look like you are going to need to take the car in for a checkup.
  2. mczajka, if you leave the car plugged in, even after it is fully charged, the 12 volt battery should not go dead for ANY reason. If the car was plugged into your charger and the 12 volt battery went dead I would ask Ford to run some tests to find out why that happened.
  3. No, I don't think there is anything to worry about here, yet. Try hitting the recirculated air button, especially when the A/C is running. I did that about a week ago and the ICE has not come on since then, when in EV Now. Let us know if it helps or not.
  4. Badrock, if you are not using recirculated air for the A/C, try that. I was using outside air and when I switched to recirculated air it seemed to help keep the car in EV Now and the engine off. Worth a try.
  5. When we were waiting for our cars to be scheduled and built last year I read an article that spoke about a charger that could be installed, on the garage floor let's say, and the car would have a matching part installed on its underside so that when the two were in proximity to each other the car battery would be charged through a magnetic field, I think it was. It's been awhile since I read that article but I remember wishing it were available now. At $195 I'm doubt that's what we are talking about here for the 2014 model but I like the wireless part and hope it can be retrofitted to our cars. Time will tell.
  6. Oops. You're right, it was Mark. Sorry. Thank you both for your input though.
  7. Meyersonle, if the car comes with 70% on the front windshield what is the benefit of putting on another layer of 70% film? I did put 35% on the top 5 inches of the windshield and that helps keep the sun off of me and out of my eyes but the dash still gets smoking hot, if I don't put up the sun screen. I also asked the shop that installed my tint to put additional tint on my sunroof but they would not do so. Said it's not a good idea in AZ? About a week ago I parked the car and decided I would roll the driver side window down so the car would be cooler when I got back in it. Bad idea! The sun was shining on the driver side and my black leather seat gave me quite a surprise when I sat down on it in my cut off shorts...ouch! The tinted windows DO keep the seats from getting too hot to sit on, if not the interior. Lesson learned.
  8. Ditto! I think I need to shop around again :superhero: .
  9. When I need to go to Tucson it's a 70 mile round trip, if I don't have to go east Tucson; which adds another 20 miles. I live 1 mile from the freeway so I drive in EV Now (all battery) and put the car in EV Later (hybrid mode) once I enter the freeway and drive 30 miles, at 70 miles per hour, in that mode. Once I get to town and exit the freeway I put the car back in EV Now and finish up my business. Then it's back onto the freeway, EV Later @ 70 MPH, until I get about 8 miles from home. If I have around 14 miles left on the EV battery, with eight miles to go, I put the car in EV now and will generally make it home with 1 or 2 miles left; the point being that speed uses a lot of battery power fast. But sometimes I completely drain the EV battery and the car will put itself into hybrid mode before I get home...it's a guessing game. Doing all the above has given me between 45-51 MPG for those trips. BTW, our freeway speed limit is 75 MPH. Hope that helps.
  10. I've gotten the "Energi had an accidental unplug while charging" about three times now. Each time when I had unplugged the car myself. Also, when I was trying, unsuccessfully, to set my Go Times I tried to reset the value charging rate table to 'Custom' and it would not let me do that either. I tried several different ways to change the values but it reverted back to the default settings every time. I gave up on that too.
  11. Welcome Eric4539! Let us know how your ride performs on the way home. Be careful, don't bust any buttons off that puffed up chest.
  12. Well, I give up. I will just do a remote start when I want to precondition the car, since I can get the car to do that. The Go Times will have to wait until, or when, I am forced to go to the dealer for some reason.
  13. Murphy, I'm using the Ford 240V charger. I have set the charge function for the car back to Charge Now and tried unplugging car, set the Go Times and plugged the car back in. For normal charging I THINK the yellow light is solid? I may be confusing the blinking yellow light between the system drawing accessory power, while the battery fan is running, with the Go Time settings. But let ask you this. On the touch screen in your car, is the battery figure solid blue at 100% charge? Mine says 100% and I show a 25 mile charge but the battery figure looks like it's about 25%...it is blue at the bottom and dark above that.
  14. Nope, neither of the two Go Times activated this morning. Do you think it would be worth doing the soft reboot posted by neod192 on another forum? http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/6474-how-to-reset-myford-touch-wout-losing-your-presets/ By the way, does it matter that I have some things, like the seat warmers, set to auto or on in Settings?
  15. Thank you for your input gentlemen. I did have the Go Times set to on in the car and I set three times last evening. One for 7 pm last night that came and went with no preconditioning and two for this morning at 8 am and 9am. At this time the 8 am button is the only one that is blue, in the car. The yellow light on the charger is blinking and the green light is solid and the fan on the battery is running. The temp here, at the moment, is 84 degrees in the shade. With the battery fan running, I am pretty sure the ICE will come on if the Go Time works. I will report back in about an hour.
  16. First, everything I am trying to do is with the car plugged in. All I am concerned with right now are Go Times and I can't get the car to come on at the times I enter. I have checked your list, except for the Go Time schedule being turned ON and I not sure where to look for that. I don't see an on/off on the MFM website, other than the OFF where the temps are when you enter the Go Times. That always reverts back to OFF once I click Add and the website Syncs with the car. But the button for are Go Time I set is blue and shows the temp insignia. The website is communicating with the car because when I check the display in the car the information is there. However, the only thing that happens is the yellow charging light begins to flash, on the charger, even though everything says the car is 100% charged. The A/C never comes on. I thought it might be because I did not have MFM set to Value Charge so I changed that. Nothing. Then I thought I might need to have all of the days scheduled so I filled them all in. Nothing. All I get is a stinking blinking yellow light.
  17. I cannot get my go times to work at all. I have tried setting the day, time and temperature several different times, while the charger was plugged into the car and the charging process was complete, but the A/C will not come on. I thought I was maybe not setting the temps low enough so I set them to 65 degrees but no dice. I even set the Go Times from the car display screen and that did not work either. The A/C is set to Auto, under settings in the left side screen. And I tried the other setting for the A/C too. I can remote start the car from the screen on myfordmobile.com but the I think the ICE runs in that mode which seams pretty dangerous to me if the garage door closed, due to the possibility of a carbon monoxide build up. At least I think the ICE is running but when I opened the hood to have a look everything shut down. So I went back to my computer and did another remote start and got to the garage before the car got the news and I heard a whine first, which I am going to guess was the A/C starting, and then the engine came on. Any idea why my Go Times won't work?
  18. Pushing the windshield wiper lever all the way down (A, in the owner's manual and notch 1 for me) is a single wipe function and that is spring loaded to bring the lever back to a neutral, or off position (0 on the lever) at notch 2. The 3rd notch (B) is for intermittent wiper; the 4th notch © is for normal wipe and the 5th notch (D) is for a high speed wipe. There were a couple of things I had set wrong on the wipers. I had somehow bumped the lever into notch 3, which is both the intermittent setting AND the "on" position for the Autowipers when the Autowiper function is set to on. I also had the sensitivity for the Auto Wiper function set to maximum and those two things, I am going to assume, caused my wipers to cycle on their own. And, as you suggest, even though I clean the windshield before I leave the garage daily, the system must have seen something on the windshield that it thought was rain and cycled on. As for the ICE being forced on, that is also random. Even though our temps have been between 100 and 105 degrees during the day, our night time temps are around 70 degrees; it was 70 degrees this morning at 6 am. Even with temps at 70-85 degrees in the morning, the car has forced the ICE to come on as soon as I started the car in the garage and remains on, no matter where I have the EV button set to. And yes, I usually have the A/C running when I start the car. What I have not done, while it has been hot, is precool the car before I leave. That's not always possible though, since some of my local trips are a the spur of the moment thing, but I'll give that a shot. So there are times, like yesterday, when it was already over 100 degrees when I started my trip (hit 105 during the trip) and the ICE was not forced on at all, while at other times, when the temps are under 90, the ICE is forced to come on...even at speeds under 50 MPH. Makes one wonder.
  19. I drove the car about 90 miles, round trip, today in 105 degree temps and the ICE was never forced on. Go figure. Many of those miles were in EV Later but when I switched to EV Now, it stayed there. I may have solved the windshield wiper mystery though. Just before I entered the freeway the wipers cycled on and off once so I pulled over to turn the auto wiper function to off. But when I chose off the wipers came on full time. That confused me at first but when I moved the wiper lever down one notch they stopped. So somehow I had the wiper lever in the wrong position . Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it  .
  20. Our temps in Tucson have been around 105 degrees for a few weeks now and my ICE is being forced on regularly (sometimes before I even back out of the garage), which in turn is killing my MPG's. If the ICE needs to run to keep the battery within Ford's preset temperature range so be it, but now I am wondering if my SOBDM module is bad too. If changing the module in Earthdogs car works for him I may have to consider a trip to my dealership to have some tests run. One other thing that keeps happening, that didn't happen prior to it getting hot, is my windshield wipers will cycle on and off all by themselves, with not a cloud in the sky. Usually only once per trip...anyone else having that happen?
  21. I have had my ICE forced on a couple times now, since you first posted your story. But today I drove the full 21 miles around town in EV Now, at 105 degree temps...go figure.
  22. I have never seen that message. I was gone for two weeks recently but left the charger plugged into the car while I was gone so that may be why I didn't get the message, if you follow murphy's usually right on logic. For those who are seeing lower than 21 mile charge times, when I got into my car this morning, with the AC off, I had 28 miles showing on my screen and the second I turned the AC on it dropped to 22 miles. It just shows how much juice the temp control uses and that the miles available really is just a system guestimate.
  23. I decided to finally take the plunge and buy the Visual Garage Shark Fin Antennae today but there doesn't seem to be one listed for a Ford, let alone a Fusion Energi. What's up with that? See here http://www.visualgarage.com/Order.php.
