  1. First of all, meyersnole, thank you for sharing your information but let see if I am understanding you right. When you say "about $3,000 to start" does that mean the X-Plan price was $3,000 less then MSRP to start and then you received the Ford published $1,500 plus another $750 in a coupon (or whatever) for a total of $5,250 off of MSRP? If so, that is REALLY substantial and puts the price of the car under what Kelley Blue Book says is dealer invoice. That $1,500, 3 payments, cash back was not on the Ford site when the Energi first hit their site a week or so ago. I looked.
  2. Wow, way to wade in meyersnole!! Welcome and congratulations on the X pricing...more fuel for the fire for the rest of us when we get turned down.
  3. Yeah, I'm just jealous because I would like the benefit of the 2 year/50K warranty too. Don't take the California bashing too seriously, I had a great time growing up on the beaches in Long Beach and Huntington Beach. Schools were good there as well.
  4. The only way I know to get parts pulled information is to call your salesman and have him ask his central order person to let you know when that happens. If they balk for some reason I would want to know why. Ask them to give you their order number and a print out of the options you ordered, if you don't already have it.
  5. I love what you have done here and others in larger metro areas should take encouragement from your exercise. My situation is a little different...self imposed. I live in a very small community south of Tucson and there is only one dealership in town, namely Ford. Other than the fact that I love the Fusion Energi, being able to drive 8 miles to have the car serviced as opposed to 35 miles, one way, was and is a huge factor in my buying a Ford. I have had a Toyota Camry for going on 12 years and it has been the most trouble free car I have ever owned and I will now pass it on to my granddaughter who is graduating from a four year college in May and will be attending a college in San Diego next year with the intent of getting her doctorate in psychology. If the 2013 Camry came in a plug-in I might still buy another Toyota, EXCEPT for the 70 mile round trip thingy. The Prius is too small for me and would cost almost as much as the Energi anyway. I've gone a long way around to say that I intend to support my local dealership and buy a Ford. What I told them was I would not shop them on price as long as I felt I was being treated fairly on the price they were asking for the car they are selling me. That still stands. What you have outlined will help me in that regard.
  6. Thanks, ChuckJ, I just wish I had known about the Framingham dealership allowing X-Plan pricing, on the Energi, before I talked to my guy. It would have given him more leverage with his management team. I will call him this morning though, just in case he has not yet talked to them.
  7. TX NRG, I don't want to burst your bubble, but I went to "Build and Price" for the Energi and neither the SEL or Titanium will give you a choice of rim. They are both 17" wheels and you get what they give you. They do provide a picture of the wheel though, I hope you like it. ;)
  8. ChuckJ, the rear view camera is listed under the standard items for the Titanium; along with ambient lighting, HD radio, Intelligent access with push button start, rear deck lid spoiler, remote start, reverse sensing system and the Sony premium sound system w/12 speakers. Irregardless of what the link I provided indicates.
  9. rspray, just to give you a tentative timeline, the parts for my car were pulled on 1/18 (original quote was 12/15) and I got my VIN plus scheduling yesterday, 1/23. From looking at posts on the C-Max Energi forum, the window sticker for their cars showed up anywhere from 10 days to three weeks. rprobst, when I mentioned I wanted to use X-Plan pricing for my car my salesman reiterated his claim that his management team still intended to put $2,000 on top of MSRP for the Energi, plus their $1,394 dealer prep package. I did better than that so I am not holding my breath for X-Plan pricing. And, even if they agree to let me use it, I still have to use your method of getting a pin. Thanks for that, by the way.
  10. Super rspray, congrats! Keep us updated on your progress. How willing was your dealer to accept X-Plan pricing? You are the first that I am aware of to use the plan.
  11. Yes, saw that post and approached the subject with my salesman when he called to give me my VIN. He seemed a little unhappy that I would come up with something at this late date but said it would not effect him so he would ask management. You don't ask, you don't get was his motto.
  12. Thank you ChuckJ, let's hope this opens the flood gates for everyone.
  13. Yes, I was worried about that too. My local Dealer is still not certified but they are working on it. However, they are owned by a Dealer that IS certified so my car was ordered through them. I was not certain it would fly until I got my VIN this afternoon. I actually know more about the car and charging system than my salesman does at this point.
  14. I got my VIN and build week (2/4) this afternoon, so here we go!! I posted my info under the Welcome Thread (see http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/499-orderbuild-thread/) so folks can follow my car being built and add their own when they get their green light. I hope you all get your info soon too. I'm so excited, it's like I'm a kid at Christmas time!!
  15. I received my VIN and estimated build/delivery dates this afternoon so I am excited to start this thread on this forum. I'm just not sure how to go about it, so I hope it comes out right! 16. Tucker, here is a link to a pretty nice comparison of the different options that are available on the two models that are available in the 2013 Fusion Energi: http://www.north-county-ford.com/carresearch/Trims2/make_Ford/model_Fusion%20Energi%20Plug-In%20Hybrid/year_2013/confid_northcountyford/. Click on "View All Equipment. This will not help you decide on a hybrid over the plug-in but it will help you decide on the SE Luxury plug-in over the Titanium plug-in. From what I have gleaned so far, if you load the SE Luxury up with options it will be so close in price to the Titanium that you will likely choose to buy the Titanium (like I did). There are some options that come on the Titanium that you can't get on the SEL (like the 12 speaker sound system).
  17. Here is a link to the 2013 Model Year Ford Hybrid Car and Electric Vehicle Warranty Guide. This should include the Energi, even though it doesn't specifically say so: http://www.ford.com/resources/ford/general/pdf/2013HybridWarranty.pdf. Please note it is in an .pdf format. Pay particular attention to pages 21 and 22. Basically, if you live in California, or any state that has adopted and enforces California emissions, the ion battery warranty will be 10 years/150,000 miles. Those of the rest of us humps who live in states other than California or the other qualifying states (see page 22 for a list of the those states and the requirements you must meet) will receive a lessor 8 year/100,000 mile warranty. The warranty I mentioned here only pertains to the ion battery only. Anything going to or coming from the battery carries a different warranty schedule and they are listed separately. Or at least that's the way it appears to me. The difference in battery warranty that is based on the state in which you live seems inequitable and discriminatory to me. For me, one size should fit all. But I will give up 2 years/50,000 miles to not have to live in the land of the fruits and nuts...and I was born and raised there.
  18. This is super information and I thank you for the post, rprobst. I'm late in the game though and way past asking for X-Plan pricing up front. That being said, I am going to ask anyway.
  19. Good question. I have a nephew who is a salesman at the Ford Dealership in Bend, Oregon, can I use him to qualify for X-plan pricing?
  20. A good article but a little misleading on the Toyota Prius plug-in hybrid price. The article quotes the price for the stripped down model which starts at $32,980 but the Prius Advanced, which has options similar to the Energi (but not as many available), starts at $40,285 MSRP. That seems a little more real world to me.
  21. I got pretty excited yesterday when I was told they pulled the parts for my car last Friday and that they could build the car any time after that. But you may be right and only time will tell...que sera sera.
