  1. Perhaps, but if the cars are going north or west I am pretty sure they will have to go through Tucson and Phoenix. However, I doubt they would drop a rail car in Phoenix for one car and then pick the rail car up later. My car will have to go to Phoenix and then trucked back to Tucson by a car hauler. I will be able to smell the car when it goes through here on its way to Phoenix.
  2. Thanks Jeff, if those two are in transit I can use them in my argument.
  3. jberger, I hate to ask you for help here because I know you are busy and you are not providing a service but I could really use it. My car was produced on 2/7/13, VIN 3FA6P0SU2DR242421, and it is still in Mexico "awaiting shipment-off site". I called my dealer and they took and day and a half to check and called to say everything is going smoothly and no other cars are being shipped before mine that were produced after mine (a claim I made based on posts here). However, according to ETIS EnergiManta's car, VIN 3FA6P0SU4DR252450, was produced on 2/21/13 and apm's car, VIN 3FA6P0SUXDR246667, was produced on 2/13/13 and both of those you are saying are "In Transit". Does that mean they have left the factory and are on a train headed for the dealer, for sure? If your answer is yes, is it possible for you to give me another VIN or two that were produced after my car and are "In Transit". My salesman is a really straight shooter and has been on the money in everything else along this arduous journey but if he is being fed a line by his Management or Ford Factory Rep I need to give him some hard facts and ammunition to get me the truth as to why my car is not on a train. The ETA they gave me was 3/10/13. If the car doesn't get on a train soon that ain't going to happen. My concern is that if the car is "off site" it is out of sight, out of mind and I need to get that changed somehow. Any help you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
  4. Wow, I'm not smart enough to figure all of that out. I'll just wait for your posts.
  5. Thank you. Now, if I could get a Happy Birthday call from my dealer saying my car is on a train headed this way it would be a Happy Birthday indeed...ready for delivery would be perfect!
  6. Great food for thought jberger, thank you for taking the time to respond in such a thoughtful way. Initially I intended for this car to be my last car purchase in my lifetime (I turn 69 tomorrow)...that the car might out live me. I purchased my last car in 2001 so you can see that I keep my cars a long time, if they last that long. However, I am in the process of rethinking all of that because of the likely technological advances in the next few years and appreciate your, and others, input.
  7. Welcome to the swim newbeetle18t, the water is getting warmer.
  8. Thanks jberger. I have the resources to pay cash for the car but I am thinking the technology on these cars will advance pretty quickly so I began to think a lease might be a better way to go so I could swap the car out in a few years, if I thought it would be beneficial to me. I will not finance the car though. My salesman was talking to me about a 2 year lease that he felt was better, interest wise, than the Red Carpet lease but we have not had time to get into the details. Time to delivery is getting shorter now though...I hope.
  9. jberger, are you saying you get the $3,750 rebate, when you lease, AND you can take the tax credit as well in 2013?
  10. I'll be sure to upload a picture of the install unless the contractor changes my mind when he gets here. Either way, I'll post my decision.
  11. This is great news and I am really happy for you EneriManta. But now I am green :superhero: with envy. I'm only about 250 miles from my car, in Mexico, but so far as I know it has not shipped yet.
  12. I went with the Leviton with the 18" cord instead and contracted with Mr Electric to do the install thru Home Depot when I was there today..Cost was $962.83 with tax. Install separate, of course. I am going to try to hang mine from the garage ceiling and bought a retractable extension cord to mount next to the charger to see if I can hang the plug on it. The retractable extension cord was about $30. My ceiling is 10' high.
  13. I just read a post on the C-Max Energi forum and the owner said he was getting right at 21 miles on a charge, even though the guesstimater on the car was showing a potential for more. Funny, about not giving up comfort for miles. I just said those same words to my wife a few hours ago. You KNOW it gets warm here.
  14. Yes, I got it and had the same feelings as you did. My window sticker shows 100 mgpe and 43 mpg gas only. So we lost 8 mpge's and 4 mpg gas only, with all the bells and whistles that we hung on the Titanium. However, the real world figures will likely be worse than that, if the experience of the folks on the Fusion Hybrid and C-Max Hybrid and Energi forums is any gauge. Its been awhile since I have been on those forums though, maybe they are doing better.
  15. FusionEnergi, I can't locate the 32 Amp Leviton with 25' cable. Where did you buy yours?
  16. Maybe not, but if you look at the other forums you will note that those who are complaining of poor, or terrible, fuel mileage have the bigger wheels.
  17. Thank you jberger, any info like this is invaluable to the rest of us. I'm glad you are posting on this site. 50 Ti Energi's is not many cars but its a good start and it may mean that next week will show a much larger number of them on a rail car. Please let one of them be mine.
  18. See meyersnole's post here: http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/509-residential-charging-stations-now-what/.
  19. Way cool everyone. The more, the better. Sooner or latter they will run out of room and HAVE to ship some cars.
  20. The USB in the console may be an entry control point as well, but I think its primary purpose is to use to plug in your ipod, memory stick, etc, to play your favorite mp3 songs.
  21. Congrats FusionEnergi! Your window sticker and build date should not be too far away. This should also mean your parts have been pulled. Now if I could just get them to ship mine.
  22. You're not the only one. I checked for my sticker like four or five times a day for eight days. Wore the site out.
  23. Wait! My car was 'awaiting shipment sent offsite' on 2/14/13 and is still there. I have no word at all that it is going to Detroit. From what I remember, the cars going to Detroit were caught up in the retooling of two molds around October and November of last year and they were Hybrids only...as far as I know. Sure hope your Rep is wrong.
