  1. Yes, it will be close. Mine arrived in "arrived at intermediate point-Phoenix, AZ-as of 4:33 pm MT. So you have a two hour advantage over me...not to mention I have no control over the car, especially once it hits the dealership, but you do .
  2. Welcome BlueFrog, we're glad you chose to join us.
  3. No, I wound up contacting Mr Electric indirectly. Here's how. I went to Home Depot looking for something that was retractable so I could suspend my charging cable from the ceiling. While talking to one of the Home Depot associates he mentioned they now had the chargers in stock, which surprised me because I looked online before I went there and all of the chargers had to be ordered online. So we went to look at what they had in stock and it was a Schnieder L1, I think. Anyway, I told them I would order my charger online and they suggested I have their guy set up the install through their install desk. Which I did. The paperwork I had did not indicate Mr Electric but when they called to make an appointment to come out to give me an estimate I discovered they were under the Mr Electric umbrella and used that name when I called them subsequent to the install quote. So, once their guy, Damien, came out to the house and I explained to him what I was doing he gave me a quote to install the Leviton L2 that I bought from Home Depot and a quote for buying and installing a Ford L2 charger. Damien explained that if I decided to install the Ford charger, he would have call Best Buy to purchase the charger and since I bypassed the Best Buy Geek Squad they might still charge me the $99 for a site inspection but he would see if they would wave the charge. He made the call while standing in my garage and whoever he talked to said they would wave the $99. So that's how I got to Mr Electric. My suggestion, however, is to call Mr Electric, directly, to see if you can bypass The Geek Squad like I did. The link you provided above for Mr Electric is a good place to start. In case you missed my post where I outlined Mr Electrics visit, you can see it here: http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/569-geek-squad-install-of-l2-charger/. I indicate in that post that I went directly to Mr Electric but I was just trying to shorten the post up some, since it was long to begin with. As you know, I decided to buy the Ford charger because it was less expensive to buy and install and I liked the way it was made. There is a link in the post above to view the Ford L2 charger and its specs.
  4. I love intrigue, as long as I'm not involved. It took me almost a month and a half to get my car out of hock in Mexico...I hope the one of yours that is built ships tomorrow.
  5. Oh nooooo! I thought I was the only one in the Energi (manufactured in February) club who was still waiting for their car to ship. Here is hoping your car gets on a train this week rprobst. I really feel for those poor folks who are still waiting for their HyTi's too. I hope that all straightens out for them soon.
  6. Smooth move there Scooter80, I like that GE unit too. Being able to install it yourself will save you about $800. I finally decided to return the Leviton L2 I bought from Home Depot and contracted with Mr Electric to install the Ford L2 unit...it will cost me $1,500 for parts and labor, plus tax, and they will be here 3/26 to do the install. That will be a busy day, since that is the ETA for my car too but I hope to have it sooner.
  7. Same scenario. I THINK mine is in Phoenix by now and then it needs to come back to Tucson by car carrier. At least it's not in Mexico. I hope to have it by next week.
  8. 102 MPGe is pretty darned good meyersnole. I hope to be comparing notes with you by next week sometime. And I hope I can find that 2 miles you lost too.
  9. Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I got a call from my salesman this afternoon who said as of 9 am this morning my car was on a train passing thru Tucson on its way to the Phoenix distribution center for delivery to me by next Monday or Tuesday, at the latest. I also confirmed that with @Fordservice who gave me an ETA of 3/26/13 . I'm no longer Jones'n for my car Please update my file JD
  10. Congrats on your new Energi, Earthdog. And welcome. Keep us posted on your pros and cons and mileage. Read the threads and a lot of your questions will be answered.
  11. From what I have read it's of European origin, ie, the Mondeo, is proprietary to Ford and is designed for the world market. If you go to the Etis web page and click on the "About Etis" and it will tell you so...and more. If you click on "charges" the prices quoted are in the Euro...hence European. From looking at the info provided I would guess that Etis will follow the service records for your car from cradle to grave and you should even be able to access recalls for it there too.
  12. Thanks for the forum complement steve, we like it here too. Check out the Leviton L2 charger, I am pretty sure it is rated for outside use and they certainly would take inclement weather into consideration. I am going to guess that the L1 Ford charger, made by Leviton by the way, is also rated for outside use. But I defy you to find literature on it. The guy from Mr Electric told me most of his installation, in Tucson, are outside. In fact, mine was his first "standard" install. Good luck in your research.
  13. This is the most in depth, and only, description of the battery packs, how they operate and how they are cooled in the Energi's that I have ever seen. Thanks for posting this shaggy314.
  14. There is a way to do that, posted on the Blue Oval Forum, but you need the rail car info first.
  15. No, that's not the build date. You will now go through the same process you did with the build date as you did with the window sticker, by checking ETIS everyday during your build week: http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleSelection.do. Click the Vehicle tab, enter your VIN and click Search. Ignore the default build date until it changes to your vehicles build date, which will happen a few days after your car is built. It takes a few days for them to enter the data.
  16. The information came from a combo of my salesman and this forum. Most all of the info, down to the VIN came from my salesman. Ask yours for a copy of their order and then keep asking for a Vehicle Visibility Report each week. Then read this forum to find out how to look up your window sticker and when the car was built.
  17. Welcome to the forum, Orangewhip. By the time you get your car there should be a whole lot more helpful info for you here.
  18. I'm not making much in the way of comments, meyersnole, but I am reading your posts with great interest...keep em coming. I'm still Jones'n for my car.
  19. In checking ETIS your car is not yet built. There is no window sticker yet either. So I would say you are looking at an April/May ETA. It's encouraging that you got a VIN so quickly though.
  20. Thanks for posting this. I intend to lease myself and will use your lease as an example of where I want to be.
  21. So, 27 miles at the factory, eh? Hit the eject button on the CD player and make sure there is no Mariachi cd in there. If it's like my car, a Hermosillo employee was probably driving the car around while quality checking the sound system, lol. The 133.6 mpge you got is fantastic (was that all down hill?), as has been said, but your overall will drop once you exceed your 21 mile limit and you drive the car as a hybrid so your lifetime miles will get closer to the rated 100 mpge. Keep us posted on that too.
  22. I'm speechless with envy but thrilled to see another Energi on the road and it's you behind the wheel. The mpge's blow me away. So happy for you meyersnole. I was looking at dealer stock myself this evening but I would have to go to Phoenix or Los Angeles and did not see anything I wanted anyway. So I will wait for a car that is produced but doesn't seem to be able to find a rail car. You have a lot on your plate but keep us informed when you can. Happy wheels to you!
  23. I had noticed the base price went down by $100, to $40,100, but not the increase in options. My options stayed the same but the base price did go down a whopping $100. But I will take anything I can get.
  24. Yes, I know patience is a virtue. My continued prayer is that God will give me more patience and that He will give it to me right now.
  25. Oh man, 31/2 months! Just shoot me now!!
