They can say it because you get an extra 0.1 mpg out of the more efficient motors. I actually heard this somewhere from Ford.

I also have a clipper creek. I haven't really paid that much attention. First I though the last quadrant had burnt out again but when I took out the charger and plugged it back in all quadrants lit up. Then I got in the car and noticed the battery charge indicator on the dash was only ~90% charged. I found it charging for over an hour after myfordmobile said it was completely charged. It has never done this in the 3 years I've had it. I just looked and I only got 3.5Kwh off the battery today. It was about 60 degrees when I went to work.

No flashing, light on charger says it's charging and it's on for over an hour past time it should shut off. Verified Light quadrant does work.

So the battery indicator on my dash never fills all the way up. This started a couple of weeks ago. My last charge ring quadrant never lights, even after being plugged in for over 2 hours and the wall charger says it is continuously charging and the charging ring never seems to shut off. The myfordmobile charge log says it charged 100% in 1 hour and 38 minutes which seems right according to recent use. Any ideas?

I'm not seeing how they would agree to repair it for free though, it seems to be a lot of work. I have premiumcare but it has a deductible.

Is this true?

I just noticed tonight the last quadrant of my LED charging ring has burnt out again. I'm not going to pay $100 (deductible) to have them fix it. I guess the LED light lasts about as long as the HV battery before significant degradation.
