Thinking about buying a used 2019 Energi!
Fgolman replied to onlyturbo's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
BTW if you're considering buying any used vehicle I'd definitely recommend Carmax. I had an extremely positive experience with them buying a 2015 FFE in July 2018. We found, in the fall, that the resistance heater wasn't working (who would think of testing that in the summer). After one false go around with one Ford dealer they sent it out to, the second fixed it. Carmax didn't charge me for it even though it was well out of the 30 day acceptance period (they gave me the invoice for reference and it was like $2500). -
As far a brake pedal foot is concerned: https://jalopnik.com/what-is-left-foot-braking-and-why-you-should-know-how-t-1792139182 I've been using my left for my entire life except in manual transmission cars (which we still have one). I've always felt it more natural in an automatic to use left foot. Definetly quicker reaction time.

Wow, that's an in depth study! I guess based on it I will continue to be concerned about heat until more research is done and that probably won't be until next car or two down the road.

Thoughts? https://www.newscientist.com/article/2221740-electric-cars-could-charge-in-10-minutes-with-a-new-kind-of-battery My question is the "heat degrades battery" comment that they found is not the case when testing a commercially available battery pack. Is there truly empirical data that shows heat when charging is no good?

I just bought a "Type S" charger at Costco for $59.99. Looks really nice and has a nice carrying case. Includes USB charging, Qi wireless charge pad and flashlight. Looks well designed, aluminum case and quite compact. LION battery so no worries about memory effects in the older nicads, etc.

I always charge at public charging stations if I can. I rarely see one that isn't free, here in Chicago. Walgreens used to be free but they recently changed them out, many to Blink chargers which aren't free (don't understand why they'd do that except to keep noncustomers from using them). Target has installed one EV America station in the City that I'm aware of and it's ridiculously overpriced (perhaps they are assuming for Tesla owners). But most shopping centers use Volta and they are free and get lots of traffic.

Reading about all the problems people have with the OEM battery and how they were saved by having a jump charger. SO, what's the recommended brand model for a pocket size unit for emergencies? Thanks!

12 Volt battery just died on my 2017 Energi Platinum.

A previous post indicated firmware updates. Can someone tell me how to view the version number and what the current version would be for a 2015 FFE? Not having any problems but just wanted to know if it should crop up. Thanks! -
I also suspect that there are a number of large fleet purchases (rental companies or municipalities) that will be happening so that may be a reason for the lifeline.

68mustangjim, Did you have any success with yours, even after removing some of the ends? I mean, I couldn't get it so everything was flush with the deck partly due to the SAE connection end that's a bit higher than it's own pocket. Luckily they're cheap and I don't mind that one (of three) is now sitting in recycling.

So, my car was a Michigan car (delivered to original dealer in Ann Arbor). I'm not sure if it had a block heater. Where would I look for the connection? Obviously, don't have a need to use it until next fall now, but it would be great to know going forward. Thanks,

Hey 68mustangjim, does that fit in the slot under the load floor?
