  1. Great thanks for the reply, I had a feeling, but figured someone would be able to confirm. Thanks
  2. Hello all, I am having a tough time googling this as android auto has a wireless option itself, which to my knowledge is not supported by my 2018 for fusion energi. I do not know much about how wireless charging works. I just bought a google pixel 3, and was wondering if I put a wireless charger in my car usb port that had a little mount, if Android Auto would still work, or does it require a cable connection. Thanks
  3. I wanted to test out different climate control settings to see how much of a variance the heated seat and heater use. My results are posted below. Note: Estimate EV Range remaining is based on previous driving patterns, and not always accurate. I am going to add in my own estimate range based on the Energy used, EV KM driven, and knowing the EV battery is 5.5 kW (Thanks Murphy). 1) Go Times to 22 degrees. No heated seat and No Heat usedTemperature outside around -1 celcius Energy 2.8 kWhEV km 20.3 kmFuel Economy 999.9 MPGBrake Score 97% 5.0 km from Regen!Driving Score 90Estimated EV Range remaining - 14 KM (The range started at 24km, I drove 20.3 and it ended with 14 remaining)My Estimate Range - 5.5/2.8 = 1.96 | 1.96*20.3 = 39.79 KMs 2)Go Times to 22 degrees. 4. Disclaimer: you probably need an android phone as an app called tasker and join are used. Also these apps cost money, like $10. So I had some free time to try and figure this out. I found a good site with 2 different ways. I ended up getting both ways to work. I prefer the second way. I use IFTTT for a lot of things already. https://www.juanmtech.com/google-home-automation-tasker-updated/ One of things to note, when creating the IFTTT applet, there are other fields for the web service portion, but you can just leave as default. When creating the IFTTT you can use the google assistant say a simple phrase Let me know if you have success or need any help.
  5. Edit: I got this working I will explain below I just got a google home mini which uses google assistant. Thought to myself, wouldn't it be cool if I could start my car with it. But from what I can tell it can't do it yet. Looks like amazon Alexa can but not google home. Any experience with this?
  6. I live in Southern ontario, woke up this morning to snow on the ground. The temp outside is -1 Celsius so 30 Fahrenheit ish. I park my car in a non insulated garage. It was around 5 Celcius so 40ish Fahrenheit in the garage. I have go times set up on my Level 1 charger and so far its been nice and warm and has 100% battery when I get in. I have wanted to test 4 different climate styles, but just havent gotten around to it. 1 - no climate use at all 2 - heated seats only 3 - heat only 4 - heated seats and heat As I mentioned the car is heated when I get in, so I start driving with heated seats and no heat. Just turning it on periodically manually. Usually like 10 mins into the trip I find I want it on again. I find this helps drastically. I drive about 30 mins for 20km each way. I definitely recommend setting up Go Times.
  7. Thanks a lot for that breakdown. Yesterday on my drive I was probably 2 kms from home when EV mode was disabled, but when I pulled into the driveway it said 19.8 of 19.8 km were EV. which was confusing because I thought 2 kms would have been on hybrid with some using the Engine. You explanation of the hybrid mode makes sense and why I got the result I did. Thanks again :)
  8. I do the same with my Trips. Its a bit of a work around. But on the 'myfordmobile' website. Under 'My Driving' You can calculate based on the 'Compare against' Mine is currently set to 9.8L/100KM. Says I have saved 214L. 214/9.8 * 100 = 2183 EV KM. Total KMs on my car is 3070KM. So that sounds about accurate for me. Hopefully that helps.
  9. I asked my dealership the other day how to see the oil life, and they had no idea. I would really like this feature back. I installed ford pass app first, and it had it, then I realized my FFE should use MFM so I switched to that. I then tried to access my ford pass to check the oil life, and it told me to use MFM when I put the VIN in. I then told them I read a warning light will come on when a change is needed, and they basically destroyed me for even thinking about waiting that long and that it would be around 16,000 KMs when that came on. They said I should come in at 8000 KMs I had a 2014 FF and I did it every 15,000 KMs and had no issues.
  10. The battery on the 2018 FFE is 7.6 KW. While driving the full EV mode kicks off after about 5.5ish KW used.It seems that's most non plug in hybrids have a 2 KW battery in them.I am guessing the Fusion needs that 2 KW to be able to run hybrid and not gas. (Side bar. My drive to work is 40kms round trip. If I use AC I get around 30kms, if no AC I get 40kms) If I was able to access the other 2KW on EV mode I would get another 10 kmish range. It would be nice if there was an option to use full battery. Most days I pull into my garage with 1 KM or 0 KM of EV left. Another thing. I was curious about public pay chargers. I did read a post on this elsewhere in the forum, but just wanted to confirm my logic. My local city in Canada just installed 3 public chargers. Rates are in CAD. The Rate is $1.50 / hour (and you have to pay normal parking rates) My understanding of my 2018 Ford Fusion Energi is this.Takes 2.5 hours on a 240V charger to charge my car. Assume only 2 hours = $3 for 40KM. Gas/Hybrid for my car is 5L / 100KM = 2L needed for 40KM. @ $1.30/L that’s only $2.60 to get that far. I wont use pay chargers cause they cost more than gas. Just want to make sure my logic is accurate.
