  1. I filled it out. Didn't give it my name, email, or phone number. Only had a few personal questions that didn't seem too harmful. Oh well, hopefully it'll help... something?
  2. Anyone else get one of these? Legit or just fishing for info they can sell? Dear NAME IN FULL CAPS: Congratulations on the purchase of your new 2013 FORD FUSION ENERGI! We would like to invite you, or the primary driver of this vehicle, to participate in an important research study regarding your experience with your new vehicle. Your opinion will help shape future vehicles! To show our appreciation, upon completing the survey, you'll be entered in a drawing to win one of 18 pre-paid Visa gift cards!!
  3. When you know it's going to rain, perhaps try putting some paper towel around the contacts and shutting the door. When it stops raining, or perhaps after a while and under cover, check to see if the paper is wet. Don't want to give it time to dry out.
  4. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, which for the battery, includes the expected loss of capacity. From http://www.motorcraftservice.com/pubs/content/~WODFHY/~MUS~LEN/41/13hybwa2e.pdf page 11 (If the link doesn't work, you can access it from the owner.ford.com website. 2013 Ford Fusion Energi Owner's Manuals - Warranty Guide 2nd Printing) Note: Lithium-Ion Battery Gradual Capacity LossThe Lithium-ion battery (EV battery) will experience gradualcapacity loss with time and use (similar to all lithium-ion batteries),which is considered normal wear and tear. Loss of battery capacitydue to or resulting from gradual capacity loss is NOT covered underthe New Vehicle Limited Warranty. See your Owner’s Manual forimportant tips on how to maximize the life and capacity of theLithium-ion battery.
  5. It's said that driving while talking on a phone can be as bad driving drunk, even changing the radio can be dangerous. With all the info-displays, I keep thinking that it might be too much. Watching for the brake coach to pop up? Watching the driving coach? Not braking or accelerating as much as you should because you don't want to hurt your score? Switching displays while in motion? Anyone agree, or does everyone enjoy having something to do during their commute? ;)
  6. Cool, thanks. I wouldn't have thought of asking them about it!
  7. Do any of the other items on that page of the app have the no symbol? You might not have full control yet. You have to connect to the car twice, once, then once again the next day, have to hit confirmation on the car's screen.
  8. I got an update for MFM on Android today. Only tried it once, but the passcode appears to be working.
  9. The Mythbusters tackled that. Not scientific, I know, but two identical vehicles, identical loads, identical conditions, drivers doing the same (on a test course, so no traffic) and identical amounts of gasoline added. Over 55, the vehicle with the windows down ran dry well before the other, IIRC. Now this was a while ago, and I think they were SUVs. Maybe it's not as bad now. But I still do it to lessen the amount of wind whipping through the car and the noise. I'm trying to balance efficiency with comfort. Otherwise, for example at home, I would strip down in the summer and never turn the A/C on and bundle up in the winter and never use the heat. But anyway... There is definitely a certain point at which it's better to use the A/C. The A/C's going to require the same amount of energy regardless, but with your open windows will cause more and more resistance the faster you go. The thing is, I imagine it's different from vehicle to vehicle and newer ones may be better; 55 is just a rule of thumb.
  10. I usually get 30 (or rather, it claims 30), but I lowered it to 26 to include the times I used the A/C. I'm curious to see what happens this winter.
  11. Yeah, basically what they said. The car learns how you drive and, if you drive well, will adjust the estimated mileage accordingly. The 21 is just what they can claim. It'll be different depending on the driver and the conditions. I usually see 30 without A/C.
  12. Cool, congratulations. I'm coming for ya. ;) Might be a while... have to do some interstate traveling next week, so probably going to drop again.
  13. Gave that a try today. I was worried I wouldn't get the cap back on right and it'd fall off, but seems secure. I don't have push button, so I just inserted the key and turned it to run to cancel the alarm.
  14. The state of the cord has nothing to do with how much charge your battery can hold or how far that charge can take you. I've been doing it with the cord unwound because there is a thing that can happen to unshielded wire, although I doubt the charger is unshielded, I just do it to be safe. Although its probably more likely a heat issue. If the cord gets warm and it's all tightly packed, it can't radiate the heat. It's just a precaution and shouldn't affect the actual charging. Makes me wonder about the fancy auto-coiling stations, though. Is it a pain to make them fully extend the cord?
  15. Yeah, the trunk button has always bothered me. It seems so much looser than the other buttons.
  16. Kind of a cheat since I only went 3 miles; Afterward I did a lot of driving; 200 miles in all getting scores from 75-89.
  17. LOL. Yeah. I used to be pretty active on a political forum, but just got sick of it. What's the point anymore when no one can even agree what facts are?
  18. I'd rather not start a political argument but here's a question for you. What's the worst that'll happen if we go with the assumption that it's our doing and change our ways, investing and developing cleaner energy and stop polluting so much, but turn out to be wrong? What's the worst that'll happen if we assume it's not our fault and keep going as we are, but turn out to be wrong?
  19. Saw 50 miles once, but it was an odd situation and it eventually changed back to the normal (for me) 28.
  20. Yes, I believe it now that I've switched back to D; I think I can see a difference in my commute MPGe. Almost got 300 MPGe one day. I don't believe it uses more while driving, but in D, you have more and finer control over the regen. Ah well, I was getting worried that L was going to get me into trouble (foot not on the brake if sudden braking needed) anyway.
  21. The reason I felt like I should have gone for the 2014 is that I'd hope at least a few bugs would have been worked out. As for SE vs. Ti, I don't know... I got everything I wanted on the SE, but I could've gone for the Ti. In the end I just wanted the car as quickly as possible. The one with the options and color I liked was an SE. I could've gotten a Ti, but in a color I didn't want. But whatever, it's done. I expect to be happy with it until hydrogen cars are reasonable, or some other cool technology comes about. ;)
  22. I use PlugShare. I think it's more like a wiki and not tied to any particular company. But since it's a wiki, it's not going to have every place. I found an unmarked one a couple weeks ago.
