LOL... my dealer was like we've never sold one of these spaceships before, here you go. will you be paying cash? oh, and make sure you give us top marks on our survey. I'd done a lot of research and watched all the Ford U Tube vids. I'd safely say I knew more then everyone at that dealer combined.

The only time I ever got down to 38MPG was when I took a long 12-hour roadtrip and was driving at 70-80MPH

Not yet, I'm going to take it in for oil change later this week. I looked at MFM and discovered I had a couple of GO times set that I didn't override on NYE and NYD, when I didn't drive, so I am, in my mind, I think that may have contributed to it.

All good. Jumped right up....me in the car, with heater on....

Oh what an ordeal this is. First call to FRA: -Press 1 for Lincoln, 2 for Ford.... I press 2 -Press 1 for car, etc... -Press 1 if this is the first call...pres 1 ...and then silence.... So I call on the land line, get through to the Lincoln operator and schedule the jump. She gets the first digit of my area code wrong, so the driver never calls and its logged as a "failed service". After 2 hours of waiting - wait time was an hour, I call back. A new call is logged, wait time is still an hour. I wait an hour and a half, no show, no call. I call back. The FRA operator calls the tow vendor and she tells me they lost the call in their system....and will re-dispatch it. Again...wait time an hour. I have towing insurance through my auto insurance, and it is top notch. This, on the other hand, is clown shoes. I'm glad I'm waiting in my house, and not out on the road somewhere.

Yeah, it concerns me too. It did get down to just above zero, but my garage is usually around 20-30. I travel a bit for work, so my vehicle stays parked (unplugged) for days to a full week at a time, and never had a problem. Not sure what happened, hope it doesn't happen again.

I have a call into Ford Roadside....thanks for the info.

Just went out to start my Energi, and it was completely dead It's been in the garage since Monday (today is New Year's) so, barely 48 hour since I last drove it. Anyone else have this problem? I read the thread that is posted in batteries, but I really don't have any unusual charging events..... MFM shows charging completed 12/29 at 2AM, so it does not show the charging events when I plugged in on the 30th.... Will I be able to shift it to neutral to roll it out of the garage?

I'm curious, as I have the weather tech's. What is better about the husky's?

Hmmm...I thought about that too. I have a mobile hot spot, and if I connect that to the car, via wifi, it really doesn't accomplish anything, does it? Now, I took a survey from Ford and one of the questions was if I could buy a data plan for the car, would I? I could see if the car had its own data plan, then you could use the onboard wifi as a mobile hotspot. But really, how many people don't have data plans on their phones already? And if you were to buy a data plan, wouldn't it make more sense to have one on your phone than on your car?

Had to use the fob to unlock then it wouldn't move
easyv replied to Fat Fusion's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
I still get confused on what part of the handle to touch to unlock the car....so it has prompted me to RTFM. Make sure you read it, because if you just try opening the door where the arrow is, you will lock your car...Here it is, right from the book of Fusion: More: Auto Relock If you press the unlock button on the remote control and do not open a door within 45 seconds, your vehicle will lock and the alarm will arm. You can enable or disable this feature in the information display. See General Information(page 84). Autolock Feature The autolock feature will lock all the doors when: • all doors are closed, • the ignition is on, • you shift into any gear putting your vehicle in motion, and • your vehicle attains a speed greater than 12 mph (20 km/h). The autolock feature repeats when: • you open then close any door while the ignition is on and your vehicle speed is 9 mph (15 km/h) or lower, and • your vehicle then attains a speed greater than 12 mph (20 km/h). Autounlock Feature The autounlock feature will unlock all the doors when: • the ignition is on, all the doors are closed, and your vehicle has been in motion at a speed greater than 12 mph (20 km/h); • your vehicle comes to a stop and you switch the ignition off or to accessory; and • you open the driver door within 10 minutes of the switching the ignition off or to accessory. Note:The doors will not autounlock if you electronically lock your vehicle after you switch the ignition off and before you open the driver door. Enabling or Disabling Note:You can enable or disable the autolock and autounlock features independently of each other. You can enable or disable these features in the information display or your authorized dealer can do it for you. See General Information(page 84) -
If you want to really find out more, and have a half hour to spare, watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=dLNDGUISTYM The Toyota drive train isn't that much different from the Fusion HE. Wish there was a vid on the Fusion,, but until then....

Overall Expected Long Term Battery Life
easyv replied to Spartyof83's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
One of the guys at the dealership, who formerly worked for Toyota, said that the hybrid taxi cabs over the last 6 years or so are seeing up to 300,000 miles on a battery pack. There is a thread somewhere on here that has a technical article on the batteries that mention expected life of the battery pack. -
According to http://blog.ford.ca/2012/05/10/building-a-best-seller-from-the-ground-up/, looks like the Fusion, does indeed have them. I'll have to take a look under the hood tomorrow

According to http://www.ford.com/technology/, only the Edge, Escape, Focus, C-Max, and Taurus have the active grill shutters. I looked up my vin on ETIS, and it has them listed on my Fusion under " Minor Features" Has anyone examined their grill to determine if the Fusion, indeed, has AGS? I swear every other week I find out about a new feature on this car. A couple of weeks ago, noticed the rain sensing windshield wipers, wich wasn't on the sticker.... I think at first it can be overwhelming. I watched the FORDOWNER videos on youtube each a couple of times after my first test drive, and then reviewed them again after my second test drive. After the first 2 weeks of ownership, I stuck to the empower screen. I am now more concerned about discharge/recharge, so that doesn't take as much effort/distraction to see

Fuelly.com adds the Fusion Energi to their database

I don't see anywhere to set my existing fuelly profile to the correct vehicle :( do I need to delete the vehicle and start over? -
I doubt that the GPS uses much power (certainly not as much as the lcd ). I used to have an external Bluetooth GPS that ran for WEEKS off a cellphone battery. All a GPS is a fancy radio, that triangulates its location between satellites. Doesn't take much power or brains to do that.

Help with battery question, just bought a new Energi
easyv replied to Scott Tran's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
Welcome to the forum, and welcome to the world of PHEVs! (that's plug in hybrids electric vehicles) IF you really want to get the most out of you Fusion Energi, you need to educate yourself about the car. A good place to start are the Ford Owner videos on You tube http://www.youtube.com/user/fordowner/videos Also, don't forget that you probably just earned your self a federal tax break, as well as possibly a state one....- 11 replies

Count me in as someone who would like an WP8 app

But there is, arguably, the only decent radio station in Chicago is on 87.7FM, which I can't listen to, as the Sony radio starts FM at 87.9 I wonder if Ford would entertain the idea of actually being able to tune the entire FM band starting at 87.0. Also, as a side note, I am not impressed with the Sony system. The stock sound system in the Ford Escape (I had a rental) is much better sounding than the Fusions.
