About Griff

  1. I know I'm a little late to this discussion, but I wanted to add something. I'm fairly certain that the Energy uses an infrared sensor on the camera. When I'm backing up in a dark location, the screen has the telltale greenish image that is much brighter than you'd expect. Since the back up lights are not green and the image is so bright, I'm thinking that is the case.
  2. If you charged your vehicle there and it was there for a length of time, you'll get the EV+ symbol. I took mine to the dealer once (for 2 weeks)and I got the same thing.
  3. I get below average Mpg in January and February. I get average mpg March and December. I blow it out of the water April-November. Check was nice, though.
  4. I drive 63MPH on I-95 where the limit is 65. My daily highway trip is approximately 30 miles, one way. I regularly average 50+mpg, hybrid only. They sent me a check for what again?
  5. I had this happen to my car in May. It sure did suck having to drive an ICE for 3 weeks while I waited for the part to come in. Based on that wait, I new this was probably going to be a bigger issue than with just my car.
  6. Yup. It is a problem with certain models built during a certain time frame. See the link below. http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/1248-collection-of-tsbs-related-to-energi/
  7. Never mind. I answered my own question. I got a refund this year. So, the credit can be refunded as long as you owed that much before your withholding. WIthout the tax credit, I would have owed.
  8. Ok. Did some tax calculations. Single/ No kids 1 exemption Income of $40,000= Tax liability of $4,024. Married filing jointly with 2 kids (4 exemptions) income of $67,000 = Tax liability of $4,098. Unless you filed your W-4 with a crapton of exemptions, I think they would take that much out. Some folks adjust their exemptions to match their projected deductions (mortgage interest, donations, education, etc.) Some just check the box. I guess the question is, if you have other deductions (mortgage, education, childcare, donations) that cancel out what you paid in taxes, do you get that part back as a refund? One could argue that the EV tax credit is used to cover the tax liability and the deductions result in the refund. What do you think?
  9. Bad wording on my end. If you make at least $30,000/year, I think you should be good. Your employer should have taken at least that, if not more, out of your paycheck.
  10. The Energi Titanium is almost the same cost as the Hybrid Titanium, once you figure in the $4007 rebate. The Hybrid Titanium is $32,170 the Energi Titanium is $36,500. Subtract $4,007 and it is now $32,500. A difference of $330. It's an absolute no-brainer for anyone to get the Energi at this point. This doesn't even include any other state incentives. If anyone is thinking about the Hybrid Titanium, you ought to think again.
  11. My experience is based on a 34 mile trip with speeds averaging 60mph and ambient temps of 90 degrees. A/C on = 43mpg. Windows (partially) down = 56mpg. YMMV. :-)
  12. You are correct! I liked the Fusion, first. Then they made it plug-in hybrid. It then began beckoning to me, in my sleep.....
  13. I don't know if this is related or not, but my car started throwing all kinds of error messages and it was determined the airbag controller had shorted out and caused everything else to fail. I did note that my car didn't seem to hold a charge as long when the error messages were displaying. Perhaps, there is a short of some kind that is resulting in this problem.
