What's the fuel filter change interval and where is the filter located? I can't seem to find anything on it. RockAuto doesn't even list a filter for the Energi and I can't find anything in the manual for it. Here's a picture of the seat and where the heat comes from on my car.

The seats use a fan and an thermometric element for the heating and cooling of the seats. It's blowing hot or cold air into the seat cushion. The bottom cushion on mine works great for both heat and cool, the back of the seat doesn't work as well. Try turning on the passenger side without anyone sitting in it and feel the air coming out of the seat. It works, it just doesn't work as well or as evenly as the old wire grid heaters that roasted the whole seat.

I got mine back from the dealer after the 3rd time in to address this issue and it's not any better than it was. First time they said there was nothing wrong. Second time they said they needed to replace the units in the seat backs and needed to order them. They were nice enough to leave the unit hanging out of the back of the drivers seat, and the back of the seat partially disassembled. It actually worked better like this. They replaced the unit, I think, they didn't give me any paperwork to tell me what they actually did. It's back to working like it was before. The seat gets really hot after about 15 minutes. I had a expedition EL as a loaner and the seats in that worked well. It's not a really cold or strong breeze like it is on some of the Lincolns, but it was comfortable. The unit is a Peltier module. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermoelectric_cooling The blower fan blows air over both sides of the module and one side is ducted into the seat and the other side is supposed to go away from the seat. One side is cool and one is hot depending on if the seat is in cooling mode or heat mode. My guess is that they are not installing these right and the air from the hot side ends up staying in the seat and causing it to get hot.

Anyone have any recommendations for a good sun shield for the front windshield? I've got a 2017 if that makes a difference.

I was able to update the SYNC system in my wifes car myself. Hers is a 2016 Escape, but she had a 2014 Focus before that. I've updated both in the past. You can go to the Ford Owners website and enter your information and it will explain how to do it and give you a link to the file. I've had something like this happen on other vehicles in the past. A bad ABS sensor can cause the system to think that a wheel has locked up and it will hold back the braking effort causing the car to not be able to stop. It's possible the ABS system in your fusion is getting a reading from a sensor and causing it to think it needs to release the brakes to prevent a skid. I'd have them really look over the signals from the sensors and make sure they are all OK. I'm not sure if you can hear or feel the ABS system working in the newer cars, but that could be what's causing the issue.

The attached picture shows the parts breakdown for the seats. Part 19N550A is the module for the seat back cooling. It's got it, it just doesn't work very well. I'm not happy with the response I received from the dealer about this and a few other issues with the car. Lets see how many trips it takes to get them to fix it.

My 2017 Fusion has the cooled seats and the seat bottom works great, the seat back, not so much. Sometimes it works great, some times it seems to get warm instead of cooling. I just had it at the dealer and they checked it and said it's working like it should. I have noticed that if it's not very cool and I lean forward, it starts to work better and I can feel the air blowing out of the seat back, but not very hard. The other Ford and Lincoln vehicles that I have driven have had very forceful air from the seat bottom and seat back and cooled very well. It seems the unit for the seat back just doesn't blow hard enough or leaks internally. Maybe there will be a design change soon to address this. This was actually one of the reasons that I went with the Fusion over some of the other options.
