The spacers I put on the rear were too wide. If I hit a big bump with weight in the trunk the wheels would scrape the fender. So I removed them and took the spacers off the front (which were smaller) and put them on the rear. The front has none now. The new rims I installed have a wider offset over factory. I forgot the spacer sizes. I'll have to look that up and gets pic. I'm out of town until next week.

2017 Fusion Energi Dead Battery Issues
Iflyasa replied to prott69's topic in 2017-2018 Fusion Energi
I had Ford do a reprogram of the car. A fix from the Ford engineers. After 3 weeks my battery was dead again. So they replaced the battery. I think it was a combination of the 2. Too much power drained whike off (new program supposedly load shreds that), and a defected battery. Let's do how long it lasts.. -
Wow thanks for the info. They did do software updates yesterday. I assume that's the updates you mentioned. However I did know they didn't replace the battery. I believe this car was sold new around the fall in 2016.

Is it normal to strand you?

My car has been showing "battery save" mode. I couldn't start my car. Pressing the start button did nothing. After 5 minutes of nothing it finally came on. The check engine light came on as well. So the past few drives it keeps showing battery save mode when I start it. It sat for 3 days and the check engine went off as well as the battery save mode. I went to Autozone and they tested the 12v. Said the battery was good but needed charging. 2 weeks prior I drove 13 hours on a road trip. There is no reason it's not getting charged, or any reason it's draining when not in use. I took it to the dealer here in Dallas. They said it needed charging as well. They charged it all night, then drove it the following day. They did confirm the battery was draining. The techs don't know why. So now they are waiting on the Ford engineers to get answers. Has anybody experienced this?

2017 ford energi and the myford mobile app not working
Iflyasa replied to lbenner's topic in My Ford Mobile
The dealer said the modem was fine. I notice the pattern is if the car sits for more than a few hours it goes blank and won't connect. Time to. All the dealer again... anybody else have his proven on the 2017? -

2017 ford energi and the myford mobile app not working
Iflyasa replied to lbenner's topic in My Ford Mobile
Ok so I read it's free for the first 5 years. Now I just need to figure out how to make it work away from home. One would think you simply start the mobile app. I do that and it's never worked. I only think it works through my wifi, or either my signal in my driveway is bad. But that doesn't explain why it has never worked elsewhere. -

Ok so how do I get this working? Is that automatic or something I pay for separately? It's has never worked past my driveway and that only works half the time. It usually times out. Especially at night. -
2017 ford energi and the myford mobile app not working
Iflyasa replied to lbenner's topic in My Ford Mobile
I have a 2017 Energi. It seems only half the time MFM works from my house when the car is within wifi range. The other half it says "timed out". Is this normal? Also, shouldn't I be able to use this anywhere? I have AT&T but wasn't sure if I needed to set something additional up. -
My stock Fusion has 18" 235/45 8" width stock rims on it. The bolt pattern is 5x108 with a 55 offset. The rims I am looking at are 18", but 9" wide and have a 5x114.5 bolt pattern. If I add wheel spacers that convert it to from a 5x108 pattern to a 5x114.5 pattern,, do you think the stock original tire on the 8" rim will fit the 9" rim? If I add a 1' spacer, does anyone see where this wouldn't work? The 1" wider rim would be pushed out 1", so the inside portion of the rim will be 1/2" further out. I'm not sure about the offset.
-
I have 18" 235/45. My spacers just came in. 32mm rear and 25mm front. This should give it more of an aggressive look. I'm looking at changing the rims as well. Time to rim shop. Would you know the wheel size for the 18"? Or what size rim will fit the tires and the fusion bolt pattern. I'm seeing 5x108 ET40. I know the 5 is the bolts but I'm not sure what 108 and ET40 are..

Has anybody added spacers? My Fusion looks a little sunk in at the fenders. If so, who has added them and what size? Thanks

Thanks guys for all the info. I ordered the eBay version and read the amazon reviews. I still need to run the 240v line into my garage. I'll keep you posted on how it comes along.

Here is an eBay one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/122022738374

I was looking to go 240v. I saw several on eBay for around $270. Has anyone had any experience with these?

I will get the electric only test the next time I drive to work. So I did do a roundtrip to my daughter's school and back. I am much more pleased. I drove as lightly as I could without annoying cars behind me. I started with a fresh all night 100% charge. I had no heat or AC on, and headlights on. It was 52F outside. The roundtrip was 14.2 miles, and it shows 7 miles left EV. That looks like 21+. That'll work! So how exactly do you understand the green energy leaves? Thanks

Ok guys I actually reset the trip computer after I fully charged it Saturday morning. Here is my roundtrip to the airport. I left Saturday and returned tonight. Break the info down for me..

Thanks I will do that!

Great info Murphy. So if I charged my car overnight in a somewhat heated garage, will It charge the battery to a higher "warm air " standard? Or does it die off as soon as it hits cooler air. I'm from my finely tuned VW Jetta TDI that was getting 50-60mpg hwy. I'm trying to learn the electric thing now.
-
Murphy Looks like all week it will be 50-70 where I live. That's nice weather. I just want to make sure my battery is "normal" per the temp and my driving style. I need ammo if I go back to the dealer. If I preset my car to turn on the heat 5 mins before I leave on weekdays, with the charger still plugged in all night, will the heat use the battery or the 120v?
-
Hi Murphy thanks for the reply. I'll have to get more data. I'm very new to the car and am still trying to learn. I just want to make sure this 14-16 range is "normal" for a new 2017. Even driving it very lightly it would seem I should get a better range. How do I check to see how much charge it has once it's completed? I still to learn the screens and all the options it gives the driver.

I just bought a 2017 Titanium with only 2200 miles. I did my first full charge at night. The next morning I drove to my daughter's school and back. Temp was 48, and I used heat initially. After my 15 mile drive it was depleted when I got home. So about 15-16 miles on the first charge. The next night I charged it fully. I drove to work, the first 3 miles were in town. The rest was on the interstate. I used defrost initially then turned it off. My range was only 14 miles. I set the cruise at 65mph and I babied the throttle in EV mode as best as I can. The temp was around 55. Ford says the range is 22 miles. I'm not getting anything near that. What can I do to check the batteries? With only 2200 miles these batteries should be still new., Thanks
