  1. Always been adding it from the website, as I don't have an Android or iPhone (don't ask). I've done it with the card sitting outside the garage, and nothing. I live a few miles outside Atlanta, but never had cell phone difficulties. I'll be going into town later today, so I'll try from the website again while it's outside. Does the authorization come up quickly after you add it on the website, or is it minutes or hours later?
  2. 24 hours now, and still nothing. I've removed the car fro MFM several times, done two master recents, and a fuse pull. What should I see on the SYNC screen? Any kind of confirmation that I want to add the car? When I first added the car i don't remember having to confirm it. But that's where it's hanging up now. My only guess is the dealer didn't key in the new ESN and associate it with my VIN, but I would think that was done after 24 hours. I have to take the car back next week to have a scratch fixed, so I'll wait until then if it's still not playing nice to talk to the dealer.
  3. Just had my modem replaced today, and I may have gotten ahead of myself. It showed my car still at the dealership after I returned home on MFM, so I removed the car and attempted to re-add it. It stops at step 3, where I'm supposed to complete the New Vehicle Confirmation. No pop ups or anything on the car to "confirm that you want to link it with your MyFord® Mobile account." I called support and they had me do a master reset. Still nothing. So does it take some time for the new modem to be tied to the VIN, or should the dealership have done that when it was replaced?
  4. I've been using a portable charger from EVI for initially regular 120V charging. Then I wired in a 240V circuit and use the 14-50 connector. I bought the Deluxe Portable Smart Charger Plus, as it came with both a 5-15 and 14-50 adapter, as well as having L6-30 as the primary connector. Very happy with it, since it shows time charging, kilowatt hours, and the amps it's pulling. It maxes out at 16 amps, but for our vehicles that's fine. http://ev-institute.com/portable_products.html, USA PC-0113-PA-63
  5. Good to know. In my Mariner, I used it mainly for newspaper delivery, so no brake lights at 2-4 am wasn't an issue, as I'd see maybe 2 cars in a week. But my Fusion is now my daily driver, so D it is! My previous daily driver was a 2004 Impala, so it won't be a huge adjustment in driving habits anyway. Just have to remember not to go down to L anymore. Side note, I bought my Mariner used in 2013 with 80,000 miles or so. I'm at 215,000, and the battery has not given me any issues. Power steering went out, and that was an expense I want to avoid ever again! Couldn't get an extended Ford warranty on my Fusion when I bought it, but I'll be getting one in March or April when I get the tax credit back!
  6. When I got my Mariner Hybrid years ago, I perused the Escape/Mariner Hybrid forum and read that driving in L was the best way to get maximum mileage on the hybrid. So for 4 years that's what I did. I didn't have transmission problems, so I wasn't concerned. But after getting my Fusion Energi, I read the manual and it notes that prolonged driving in L is not recommended, so I've switched back to D. What does everyone else do? I do notice that going downhill, L will turn on the engine to simulate the lower engine speeds. But with the accelerator on, L feels like D. It's only during periods of no acceleration do I really notice I'm in L.
  7. Quick update, I got my 240V circuit wired in today, and the fast charging is going well! 15 feet of 10/3 wire, a Levitron wall/floor mount box, and a 30A circuit, and it's moving along at 13.3 or so amps. I noticed several breakers tripped on my circuit breaker box, but I think those were just from when I was reinstalling the door and accidently hit them. At least I hope!
  8. I ordered the USA PC-0113-PA-63 from EVI last week, and when it arrived, I found I received their new model, the PC-0114-AA-SM. A phone call with EVI confirmed that this is their new improved charger. Instead of 10A and 16A charging, it has 8A, 12A, and 16A charging. Using a 110V circuit and 12A charging, I'm able to get a full charge in about 4.5 hours. I'm still planning to put in a 240V outlet for 16A charging, but the 12A option gives me something a little quicker than the Ford OEM charger, with no change in outlets. It also has more valuable LCD display, but since I never saw the old model, I can't tell you what's new, just what mine has. Amp setting, temperature of the charger (?), total kilowatts hours for the current charge, charging time, outlet voltage, actual amps, and kilowatts. I've only used a few times, but I'm impressed with it and appreciate the little bit of extra speed 12A gives. Can't wait to get my 14-50 outlet put in!
  9. Is there a third party repair guide for the Fusion Energi, like something from Haynes or Chilton? Or is a Ford Service Manual the only option? I had to go the Ford Service Manual route for my Mariner hybrid because of how much hybrid specific info is in the Ford manual that's not in the third party ones. Does anyone have the part number?
  10. I picked up a new 2016 on Saturday. I've been eyeballing the Fusion hybrid, but I checked the local dealership that morning, and they had a new Energi available with all the options I wanted. I've been driving a Mercury Mariner hybrid for about 4 1/2 years, so it's not my first hybrid, but it is my first plug in! I'm really liking it, especially this morning when I was able to do a short trip all on battery after getting a full charge last night. The price of a replacement charger means my car gets to stay in the garage now and my girlfriend's truck has been bumped outside. :) I live in a rental house, so I'm not going to get the 220V charger put in. Now to find a spare on eBay or the junkyards!
