  1. I keep my car in EV MODE Only. I live in NYC. I pre condition my car. When the temps are very cold outside...below 20F, the ICE will automatically kick in sometimes. I forget the exact wording. But the dash says something to the effect of.... For proper efficiency, EV mode is off. Something like that.
  2. I find my electric range is directly proportional to the weather. In NYC, we see temps go as high as the mid 90s and as low as single digits. And the hotter it is, the more Electric I get. As high as 33 miles per charge. The colder it gets, the less electric I get. Friday, the temps were in the low teens. I got 14 miles on the charge. I have not seen much, if anything in the way of battery degradation. I have a 2017. 2 years 1 month. 20k miles on it.
  3. Has anyone seen any TV commercials, not just for Ford Fusion Energy, but ANY electric plug in vehicles? I haven't.
  4. In NYC, Con Edison is the electric service provider. They are offering rebates for EVs, through a 3rd party, called FleetCarma. They are offering Reward Cards or Gift cards. The rebates are as follows. $ 50 to sign up $ 10 to fill out the survey $ 5 per month, every month. .05 Cents per Kilowatt hour of charging on any charging between 12am-8am $ 20 dollars per month from June 1 to Sept 30. For not charging between 2pm and 6pm. Supposedly good no matter where you charge in the CON ED area. You do not have to charge at home to get the rebates. EXCEPTION to rule. If you charge between the hours of 2pm and 6pm on ANY day between June 1 and Sept 30, you lose the ENTIRE month of the 20 dollar rebate. What do you guys think? Good? Bad? How does this compare to what you guys have? I would love to know.
  5. 12/21/2016 was the last time I put actual gasoline in my vehicle. 2107 miles later on 3/21/2017, I had to fill up again. I was showing 4 ICE miles to Empty. I filled up and the car took 12.7 gallons. I probably could have made it further. If I had known I had another 1.3 gallons left in the tank!!!! 170.0 MPG. According to the trip OD for those 2107 miles!!!!!!!!
  6. I have to assume most of you here use the MyFORDMOBILE APP. I have a question. It is about the local rankings. I have driven 2000 miles without putting gas in my car. I want to know WHY AM I NOT AMONG THE LEADER BOARD??? I would belong to the NJ/NY area.
  7. 240V yes. I didn't amprobe it,I have just been lazy. Maybe over the weekend I will throw an amprobe on it.
  8. Ok Kids. Here is what I got. I ran the car batteries down to Zero today. I plugged in the car at 3:15 pm and my Kwh Meter read 6.8. 2 hours and 15 minutes later, I got a text from my ford mobile app that my car was fully charged. I went down and read my Kwh and it was 14.1. It appears it took 7.3 Kwh to fully charge.
  9. I Haven't had to fully charge the car yet from fully depleted batteries. I charged it twice yesterday. Didn't go out today. Once charge yesterday from about 50 % and one charge last night from about 65 %. The Kwh meter is reading 6.8 Kwh. I am assuming it will take 7.7Kwh for a full charge. I will run the batteries down tomorrow before I charge it. See what kind of reading I get.
  10. FYI!!! Kwh meter installed and working well. Of course though, nothing I do goes off without some sort of problem. LOL. The batteries were dead on my 20 year old Battery drill. I figured I would charge them as I prepped my work. I only had to make 2 holes in plastic boxes and figured I would only need about 15 minutes of charge. Well, the charger went bad. After much cursing and swearing, I had to borrow one from my neighbor. Even with the battery issues on my drill, I was done in about an hour and a half.
  11. Being an electrician, I can tell you it will work with 220 or 240. I plan on doing it over the weekend. If I get some time. LOL
  12. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AN9AQ24/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 26 bucks on amazon
  13. Hey guys thanks for the help. I did some serious math on a my Con Ed Bills. It seems ALL Total, I am at .21 cents per Khr. Con Ed in NYC offers ZERO rebates. They SUCK!!! LOL As far as gas vs. EV. Even if I am at break EVEN, I still prefer the EV. I ordered a Kwh Meter. I am installing it this weekend to get an ACCURATE Kwh Measurement moving forward. On the plus side. I am Averaging 145 MPGe over the 3500 miles I put on the car.
  14. Ok, I have a question but I don't want to get too technical here. I am trying to figure out how many kilowatt hours I am using with my electric bill to charge my car? I do not want to buy a kilowatt meter for the power cord. Here is what I know My car is showing 770 Kwh used. Is this number accurate as to what I am drawing from my house? I only charge my car at home. So, there would be no need to deduct Kwh used somewhere else. I pay .23 per Kwh on my ConEd bill. Please give me some simple math. Thanks
  15. I know this was meant for VINTRE. But I will answer for myself here. The dealer showed me the WRONG way. He showed me how to push the button to OPEN it. But never explained that you need to push the button to close it.
  16. Widespread? There are not that many Energi's on the road. LMAO. And how many of them are in cold weather states?
  17. OK, I just want to let you kids in on something here. Today, I went with my bride to the same store. Just to experiment, I stayed in the car again today. Only about 15 minutes. We started out with 20 miles of EV. She puts the heat on full blast mode and the heated seats. We get to the store and the EV range reads 14. The bride goes in the store. I am sitting, with the car on, in a nice sunny spot. Heated seats OFF and heat OFF. Range went UP from 14-16.
  18. I fully understand what you are saying. But the reason I posted here about this, is because I was astonished myself!!
  19. Let me elaborate here. It DEFINITELY went UP from 14 to 18 while sitting there, WITH THE CAR ON. In that 30 minutes, the outside temps did rise considerably from mid 20s to mid 30s F and I was sitting in the direct Sunlight. I am often early for work. And sit in the car with it ON. The EV numbers either stay the same or DROP. They will drop when I turn on the heater. But, it is still dark and very cold. To go even further. I have gotten out of the car with an EV of 8. Come back to the car 7 hours later, temps rising by 20 degrees F and I will start the car and it will say EV 10 or 11. Depends on how much it warms up outside. Which leads me to believe the outside temps play a bigger role with the batteries than we know.
  20. I was very cold This morning. Low 20s. I Got in my car and the EV miles Range said 17. I drove my bride to the store on all EV and the remaining EV miles Range said 14. She went into the store and I sat in the car with it ON. Listening to the radio and just PLAYING. A good 30 minutes. As I sat there, the EV Mileage Range went UP to 15, 16, 17, then 18. Is this normal? Can someone explain it? Thanks!!
  21. My Energi is brand new. 2200 miles on it. I can unequivocally tell you that here in NYC, weather wreaks havoc on the EV mileage range. When temps drop, 30 and below, the mileage range will dip to as low as 17 miles. Temps go above 40 and the range will go to 23 miles. And this is full charge. Once I get in and turn on the heat or heated seats, the range can drop pretty fast.
  22. I was curious about the Engine Start Button so I did some reading in the owners manual. It said that if you push the START/STOP button, while the car is running, and as the car is moving and in Drive, the car will automatically switch to neutral and slow automatically until the car came to a complete stop and then the engine would switch off. So, I experimented. Started the car.. Put it in Drive. Held the car stopped with the brakes. Hit the Start/stop button. The car switched from D to N to P, very smoothly. Then I went a small step further. Started the car. Put it in Drive. Let go of the brake. Let the car roll to about 2-3 MPH. Hit the Start/stop button. The car went from D to N to P VERY QUICKLY and LURCHED to a stop. Anyone else try this? Anyone try it at decent speeds? 20? 30? 40?....
