  1. Modem Replacement First trip to dealer on Jan 1, only looked at existing modem to ensure correct replacement modem ordered. I lost MFM functionality on that date. 2nd trip to dealer on Jan 20 to install new modem . . . . new modem wouldn't program, so dealer reordered another modem and sent me home (still no MFM functionality). March 27 2017, Installed new modem. Still no MFM functionality. Tried all the tricks mentioned before (fuse pulls, battery disconnect, deleting MFM account). I can see car location on map. Nothing else is updated - still same mileage as on Jan 2. Call into dealer, but not real optimistic.
  2. Just to make sure, the $4000 tax credit is claimed when you file taxes when PURCHASING the car. You're the BUYER, you get the credit. If LEASING, then the $4000 is included as a credit towards the vehicle cost when calculating the lease payments. Ford gets the credit as the lessor, passes it along to buyer in lease deal. This makes the leases really appealing. OTOH, when buying thru Ford Credit you get 0% loans (at current time), also appealing.
  3. Nothing really new here, just a variation on things. I removed badging and chrome trim, highlighted the "Energi"drivetrain . . . that's what makes this car different. Grille- Rather than plasti-dip the exisiting grille, I pulled off the chrome strips . . . . it's easy, just pull gently working from one side to the other (this is reversible): I then painted the black plastic with gloss black to match the lower grille; Next I added an "Energi" badge to the painted grille (bought off Ebay used for $14) using 3M double sided trim tape . . . i had to remove one "tab" on the grille where I mounted the badge: I removed all the "Fusion" and "Titanium" badging . . . . just too much (I used dental floss, then cleaned up with bug remover and polish). I left the "Energi" badging. Looks cleaner. Thanks to folks for the inspiration!
  4. Took delivery Aug 19 . . . In June we rented a Fusion Hybrid for a week vacation . . . really liked the car and averaged 49mpg. I've wanted a "green car," and like the EV possibilities in town and the hybrid drivetrain for longer trips. Don't care for the aesthetics of the other plug ins . . . Fusion has nice design. I wish there was a Fusion wagon (as there is in Europe). The battery takes up so much space, but should work for us (no kids) on vacation trips, and I have a van if I need to carry big stuff. Still haven't driven much . . . . so much to learn and setup (e.g. MyFordMobile, smart charging, go times, etc). Very cool car. I'm fine with 120v overnight charging, but would like another so I can have one for travel and one that stays at home . . . looking for an affordable option. Nice to see this site exists. I use a similar site for my VW Westfalia camper.
