A stroller, Probably. A hockey bag, probably but I've never seen one. Both, no. All measurements below taken to "first obstruction". For height it is the trunk-lid-springs, speakers, or ducting. For width, it is "storage areas", etc. That large area nearest you is 39" wide (measured to spring covers), 14" deep, and 19" tall. Although there is a little "pocket" of additional room on the right side. The first "step up" adds 31" wide, 4.5" deep, and 11" tall. Need to store some pencils? The last step up adds 41" wide, 19.5" deep, 2" tall. But there is a center section of that area where the ducting moves up so you get about 4" tall. Both of these areas can extend all the way into the back of the car, if you fold your back seats down. So you could carry some plywood or skis or hockey sticks in this area.

TSB 13-5-18 - Trunk sagging when spoiler is present

Jeff_h, You are probably right. Ford/ford dealers, being proactive and fixing problems that you know of BEFORE customers find them can only be good for your reputation. Gk -
TSB 13-5-18 - Trunk sagging when spoiler is present
GregKet1 replied to jeff_h's topic in Maintenance
When I took the TSB to the dealer they wouldn't do anything either. Until I said "I was loading the trunk and the lid hit me in the back of the head". THEN they would fix it under the TSB. Same thing with the last "Dealer installed Sync update": they wouldn't do it, even though FORD said it was necessary. As soon as I said "My iPhone isn't working properly" they did it. So I guess the moral of the story is: Ford won't perform any preventative maintenance; they will only fix problems. Little white lies seem to be necessary to get any work done. It is too bad too; my Honda dealer will search for any TSBs every time I take the Odyssey in for any service and they fix them all at no cost. Same with my Audi dealer. But I have to say, Ford is better than Chevy. Chevy wouldn't fix my parking brake even when I showed them that the car rolled forward at idle with the brake set. "It holds in reverse and that's all it needs to do". So I aimed the car at their nice new Corvette, set the brake, put my car in drive and let it start rolling and said "so if this is how it is supposed to work you don't mind if we plow into that 'vette, right?". They fixed it but invited me not to come back to that dealer. Ford, please change your dealers' attitude so that they fix TSBs without being "forced". -
Mine was doing this too. The dealer, according to the service report, "added extra double-sided tape" and it hasn't come loose again.
-
My dealer has ordered an entire headliner to fix the fraying. But it is backordered at Ford and they don't know when they will be getting it in stock so I'm in a "wait and see" mode.

Has anyone actually weighted the Energi's wheels yet to find out just how light they are?

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Since I have to take the car in for the trunk-supportSB I'll just have them fix it at that point.

Auto Headlamps on in Gleaming Sun
GregKet1 replied to Scooter80's topic in Glass, Headlights, Fog lamps, Lenses & Window Tint
I had this once. But I realized that my gps stand had covered the sensor. As soon as i moved it the lights turned off. Do you have anything on the center area of your dash over the grill area? -
Anyone else have a bit of foam sticking out from the dash right at the lower windshield joint? Mine is in the far right side, right at the passenger pillar.

Put the mirror up to the ceiling. The control with three buttons should now be facing you. If they aren't right there "in your face" then a trip to the dealer is in order.

Vehicle Health Report - ran report but don't see it
GregKet1 replied to howardbc's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
Yup, I did the same thing. So, per the manual I went out and reran the report with the parking brake released. But this report never showed up on the website. When I "chatted" with the sync help they told me you only get to do one Health Report per month. -
I had mine all working fine after Scooter's tip. But today the driver's window would no longer auto down. Another calibration and it is working fine. No idea why it is losing its mind but it is.

Weird thing: I just received my pink slip but the plates haven't showed up yet. First time that they have been delivered separately, at least for me. I don't think there is any way to mount the stickers without putting them on the plate. You are required to put them on the fenders and bumpers. We get the green stickers which requires 4 on the car. Pollution free cars get white stickers and only require three. Boy will those green stickers go well on my Ruby Red Energi. NOT!

Bitch mode: On Several annoyances this morning. I went to drive my son to school this morning and when I started the car there was a "See Owner's Manual" message with a picture of a little wrench. Not very informative... I drove my son to school, came home and then searched the manual. The Symbols Glossary on pages 7-9 doesn't show any symbol of a little wrench. Great, an incomplete manual. I kept searching the manual page by page and on page 82, under "Instrument Cluster" there is a symbol of a wrench which is associated with "Powertrain Fault": Contact your authorized dealer as soon as possible. OK, this could be bad. I decide I should run a Vehicle Health Report so I go out to the car and start it again... no fault shown. Oh yay, an intermittent issue. I run the Vehicle Health Report and there is no issue reported with the powertrain at all. So the health report is only "health at this particular instant"? No historical data is included? Also less than useful for diagnosing issues. *Sigh* If you are going to put computers in cars, please hire good programmers with diagnostic experience. This is proving useless. Bitch mode: off Has anyone seen this before?

Mine just arrived. 5 minute install and it fits great. I tucked the USB cable under the console trim so there is about 1.5" showing right under the phone mount and about 1/2" showing where it goes into the "media center" in the arm rest.

Thanks for the warning. I'll be sure to always double check!

Getting Apps in the Car - How do you do it?
GregKet1 replied to mets67's topic in Audio, Navigation & SYNC
My wife's Honda is updated every year. $199 normal, $149 if you buy early. It is just a CD you insert in a player under the seat. One of the ford dealers told me it would be "over a hundred, less than two" for updates. But I haven't seen anything in writing so take it with a grain of salt. -
Getting Apps in the Car - How do you do it?
GregKet1 replied to mets67's topic in Audio, Navigation & SYNC
@Rhyalus, If the nav was a one-time charge of $795 and everything else was equal, I would definitely have bought it. But those recurring costs that make it cost multiple Thousands of dollars over the life of the car... That chased me away. I used to count on the nav on my phone too. But then, on more than one occasion when I was lost in San Francisco, the buildings blocked the phone reception and the map just stopped. Once I learned I couldn't rely on the phone nav when/where I needed it the most I got the garmin, which works even if cell coverage isn't there. -

Ok, this is why I skipped the nav system: Ford. $795. 8" display. Map updates. Only Yearly, approx $150. Real-time traffic. $6/mo. But only if you already buy SiriusXM For $140/yr. Garmin nuvi 3597 $350 5" display Updates Weekly (or as often as you want), free for life Real-time traffic. Free for life Why spend the extra money? Especially when I can use the garmin in all three of my cars. I just don't get it. -
Anyone else having trouble getting Speed Compensated Volume to work? When I get to this menu item they are all grayed out and if I try to click on it it says it might be locked due to MyKey, but I'm using an Admin key. In fact I've never configured any MyKeys and both my keys are recognized by the system as admin keys. Anyone have any ideas?

Getting Apps in the Car - How do you do it?
GregKet1 replied to mets67's topic in Audio, Navigation & SYNC
If that is the menu I'm thinking of, you use it to install updates from Ford and Microsoft. I had to do a Sync update the day after I got my car. -
I just picked up my Energi a couple of days ago. Looking at PlugShare I see there are several different ChargingService providers around here (the SFBay Area). Is there one that is better/more common than the others? Should I get both/all/??? Any advice from folks who have been driving electrically for a while would be greatly appreciated.

iPhone APP does the same: Only remembers the username, not the password. With how frequently phones get stolen, I like this. I'd hate to have someone steal my phone and then turn around and use it to steal my car too. Or even just to unlock the car so they can steal its contents.

I just had this conversation with my dealer. He wanted $1900 for the 7/75,000 with $200 deductible so I showed him where it could be purchased on-line for $900. After looking in his pricing book and finding it only cost him $775 he was willing to match the $900 with no problems. BTW, the 7/75,000 $100 deductible has a cost of $995. Since FORD foots the repair bills, it costs them nothing for the fixes. Any profit is just that, pure profit.
