Sorry it has been a while but I wanted to come back and give an update and a tip for everyone.... The reason the auto shop couldnt find parts is because the local Ford distribution center apparently stored bumpers in a bag under other heavy parts, when received by the auto shop it wasnt to their standards and returned the front bumper.... after 4 returns, number 5 was in great shape. Now for my tip.... I needed one of the front sensors replaced for the active cruise control. immediately after driving out I tested the ACC and it would pick up the car to the right lane, since this was a weekend I was thinking of taking her back the following Monday however I kept trying to see if the issue really was that it would pick up a car over instead of the one in front. after a few close calls it seems as if the ACC needed to learn and program the new sensor. After 3-4 days of using it once or twice and showing improvements day by day on short trips it works good as new.

Is Ford Fusion Energi least reliable electric car?
gz3490 replied to Charlie3831's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
I've had mine since early April with 19,000 miles on it and only issue was the small light that turns on when the doors are locked came off, that was replaced and no issues... I did have a fender bender but not because of any fault of the car, I think it is a great built car. -
VOTE - Pictures CA HOV Sticker Placement
gz3490 replied to jgcec@yahoo.com's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
Just wondering, has anyone ever played with the idea of attaching them by other means? I had a fender bender and had to replace my front bumper, well taking off the stickers was a PAIN, when you peel them off the word "void" stays on the bumper and then its a very good adhesive I had to find some chemical (cant recall the name) that worked pretty good. now with the new stickers I have them in the glove box, I had them incase I need them one day. -
I parked on top of the cord once and it seemed to do a number on my cord, rubbing against the floor and tire. I think too much weight and friction will eventually damage it. I once saw a Volt that used a bike lock, the kind that looks like a U and locks at both ends of the "U". They put this through the gaps of the wheel and locked the charger in there. Not sure if it will work for our wheel but maybe someone will get an idea, maybe a rope type chain thats thinner.

Welcome Kalistis, I'm also in LA, when you say pre-conditioning are you using the "Go times"? or are you using the remote start while the car is parked and not plugged in? even if plugged in the car will draw more electricity than the 120v can provide, this might be one cause you are getting lower mileage. On streets the most I've gotten is about 35 miles on EV only. Regarding the rebate check, they say it could take up to 60 days, mine took 58 days lol.... I had even email asking if they had sent it around day 40 and they were still processing, the 58 days was after the rebate was approved. My 2nd set of decals.... had a fender bender and had to request replacements took about 2-3 weeks, that process was faster and simpler. Oh and the magic? well, being that this is my first Ford, 8 months with it now and 18,000+ miles..... its safe to say I'm still very much in love... don't tell the wife! lol

I just wanted to share a few sad pictures... The body shop is having a slightly hard time getting a few parts since the car is soo new. The first pic is the damage caused by traveling about 50 mph and a piece of drywall flying off this truck. Since the sensor was pushed in the computer disabled all (front and back) except the cross traffic. Right now that its at the body shop, I'm assuming since so many parts were taken off all the updates fail and I cannot communicate.

I should had taken one when I hit 10k, I noticed at 10,005, I also missed when I hit 1k regen miles....

Just wanted to share with everyone and make sure no one else is missing their light... I don't really know what to call this part however it is the little red light on the door panel that indicates the door is locked. Went to Ford and they have ordered the part to replace....

Insurance Company not able to determine Energi model
gz3490 replied to fpliptak's topic in Lounge - Off Topic Discussion
Update... So I found something interesting that might explain our problems however not sure.... I applied for the HOV sticker in California and the DMV returned my application because the Dealer/Ford had reported my Energi as a "G" gas powered vehicle, I had to get a "Statement of Facts" from the dealer that then will be sent back to DMV. The form also states that it will be corrected in my title, if I want a new title I must return the original title which is with the Lien holder. Just wanted to share my experience so that if anyone in the future receives their tittle showing you own a Gas powered vehicle and not a PHEV. -

Same issue with my state farm agent, they kept saying we gave them the wrong VIN so we took a picture and sent it. They kept says it would come up as a Hybrid, finally after a week or two we got it in correctly (i think). -
Found out the hardway a while ago but I keep forgetting to post. 4) If you keep it in EV later and going down a hill (grapevine/cajon pass) and the battery charges to 100%... well, then regen braking stops working... this is a heavy car and it will fly down the hill then you are only using the brake pads which almost seem tricky to control, nothing bad but its like changing cars all of a sudden. anyone can try this but what I do now is make sure I use enough juice so that I will regen on the way down. oh by the way the hill assist/grade assist works great and not sure but it might not turn on the brake lights and avoid weird looks from people thinking you are riding your brake pads lol.

1) I live in the High Desert and work down the hill, I use Auto for most of the way up since it uses more battery faster but only enough that I know I can charge my Batt with Regen Braking. Then I use EV now on traffic or streets or if I know I'm getting close to my destination since I also charge at work. 2) I think I read or seen somewhere that hybrids can only go up to 62 mph on electric when the Energi can go up to 82 mph, this might be a reason hybrids prefer 61 mph 4) Yes you can, I have needed to go up the hill 4,000+ft and come right back down, since I press the brakes slightly and use regen I have gone from Hybrid mode to 3-5 miles on Regen, again this is coming down a 4k ft hill and pressing the brakes slightly to only activate regen braking. I think I've seen as much as 20% charge on only regen if I drive behind a big rig driving slow.
