Navigation Transfer info Navigation information of past locations
Gkinla replied to mrbigh's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
I don’t know of any way to store and retrieve this information. I just take screen shots with my cell phone, and then manually copy the locations into my new vehicle. I also do this with my radio presets. -
Read this link below, it'll give you a better understanding of the EVNow, EVLater and Auto modes. I never use Auto mode and manage the HVB using EVNow and EVLater. Since I've been aggressively managing the HVB. I now see EV Miles, after charging between 22 and 25 miles. Before this, my EV Miles after charging was, 17 to 19 miles. I thought the HVB was failing. It was using EVNow at all times and using up the HVB at highway speeds, which is a very inefficient use of the HVB. The computer will estimate EV Miles, after charging, considering the way the FFE was last driven. This includes heater and AC use. http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/topic/4780-trying-to-understand-battery-range-issues/

Trying to Understand Battery Range Issues
Gkinla replied to jaydubau's topic in Batteries & Charging
What I've read and understand, you are correct regarding the 2017 in ACC mode. I drive my 2016 FFE the same way you drive your 2013 FFE. -
Trying to Understand Battery Range Issues
Gkinla replied to jaydubau's topic in Batteries & Charging
Even when on flat surface. The engine or ICE, Internal Combustion Engine, is more efficient when traveling at those speeds. The drag at 80mph is tremendous and will drain the battery in no time. Thats why EV miles after charging is so low, the computer will assume that's what the speed will be next and it assumes the EV range accordianately. Use EVNow on the city streets, and when it's stop and go, or slow and go, I'll use LOW, EVLater on FWY at 60mph or higher or even EVN when the traffic slows to a crawl. Uphill EVL, downhill EVN. I live in the Los Angeles, it's pretty flat, but going North on the Sepuldeda Pass, I'll use EVL going up the pass and EVN going down to the valley. Sometimes I gain 2 EV miles going down, going North or South using this method. YMMV, pun intended. -
Trying to Understand Battery Range Issues

What murphy and Davidoo say. Since I started to aggressively manage my HVB, my EV range has never been better. I see 25 mi EV range often now. EV Later for FWY, EV Now for city, and using Low for slow and go city, and slow and go FWY traffic. Even when the HVB is depleted, using Low when in slow and go traffic, seems to help in the Hybrid/Auto mode. Unlike the FFH, the engine doesn't rev when putting the trans in Low, it just makes the Regen Braking more aggressive. -
I use this one now, the other only had one 2.1a, 5v port. This one has two high power USB ports. https://smile.amazon.com/Charger-Display-Voltmeter-Adapter-Portable/dp/B01N9KF1K7/ref=sr_1_83?ie=UTF8&qid=1492022247&sr=8-83&keywords=cigarette+power+usb+volt+meter

My 2016 FFE got 40.4 mpg on a trip from Los Angeles to Lake Havasu City, with some side trips included. Arizona has 75 mph speed limits, everyone does 80. California out side of city limits is 70 mph, everyone does 75. I was very pleased with the 875 mile, 40.4 mpg trip. I used up the 5.3 KW by managing the battery. Highway speeds on EVLater, in city, EVNow until the drive battery was depleted. No charging on this trip, all hybrid mode after the battery was depleted.

Actually you were driving it right, it's called battery management. Freeway speed is more efficient using EVLater, city or country roads better off using EVNow, until the drive battery is depleted then the Energi goes into auto mode automatically. There is no alternator to charge the 12v battery, mythical or otherwise, the 12v battery is charged from the HVB, using a DC to DC converter and the final 12v battery charge when plugged in. When I'm stuck in slow city traffic I put the trans in Low. You can almost use the go pedal as one pedal drive. Regen braking becomes more aggressive, sometimes I can go several miles without touching the brakes. It took a while to get used to it but I think it's more efficient using low in the city for slow and go traffic. It seems like the EV miles lasts longer because of the extra regeneration. I know the User Manual states not to use Low for long periods, I'm second guessing that it's referring to Freeway speeds. When I was having trouble with my 2013 FFH, "System Off to Save Battery", I bought a cigar lighter DVM to monitor the 12v battery. 4 year ownership, 4 replacement batteries. Still use it today on my 2106 FFE. One year ownership 9500 miles 12v battery still okay.

What I've been told, by a body shop, is, using the car covers outside in the wind, dirt and dust gets under the cover and the wind moves the cover grinding the dirt and dust into the paint. If left alone for a long enough time it'll grind down to bare metal.

12 Volt battery just died on my 2017 Energi Platinum.
Gkinla replied to Bigsam411's topic in Batteries & Charging
I'm sure someone else will jump in here but, the 12 volt battery is charged by the HVB thru an inverter, there is no alternator on a Hybrid/Energi. I have 9000 miles on my Energi and have never put it in Auto by choice, I just use EVNow and EVLater. EVLater is best when cruising at highway speed, the car is more efficient using the ICE at cruising speeds. When the HBV is depleted the Energi goes into Auto mode automatically, which is Hybrid Mode. I have gone two weeks without using the ICE without LV battery problems. -
I had the 2G modem replaced on 12/12/16...it was stuck on 10 miles until this morning. I just checked MFM and it is now working correctly, showing the battery charging bar and updating the battery mileage. Being an early adopter of the 2013 FFH I didn't want to be at the dealer every other week. I just let it be, didn't pull fuses, stayed away from the dealer and just ignored it. I guess in this case, all it took was patience.

Update to my above post. MFM battery icon is stuck on 10 miles EV Range, which was the miles left on the battery when I dropped the car off. Looking through the posts related to the modem upgrade, I'm no the only one stuck with the stuck battery indicator.
-
All of the above except my battery icon is stuck at 10, which were the miles showing when I dropped off my car this morning.

Had my modem replaced this morning, took exactly one hour. All seems to work correctly, no issues with the upgraded modem. Rolled in to my dealer at 8:00 am, rolled out at 9:00 am.

I owned a 2013 FFH and was having trouble installing Sync 3.8. At that time the FFH forum was very prolific in solving problems with the new model 2013 FFH. IraF posted this link, it just might work for you, it worked for me with my 2013 FFH. If this link works, read the whole thread. http://fordfusionhybridforum.com/topic/10558-version-38-available/?do=findComment&comment=100530 Oops, this link works but the file IraF posted isn't there any more. I'm looking around in my files, haven't found it yet.

It's probably something to do with the antiquated 2G cell system in our Fusions. The Fusion, MyFordMobile, can't find a strong enough signal at all times. When it does it sends all the texts at one time. Just surmising here.

Hello everyone, I'm jumping over from the FFH Forum. I just bought a 2016 Energi yesterday. So I know what this answer is....$4,000 incentive plus $1,000 for having another hybrid in the family, which you don't have to train in, just owning another hybrid qualifies. Ford is also offering a "Zero %", 60 month financing. My 2013 FFH with 35,00 miles, got a $10,600 trade in value. Like the FFH Forum I hope to gain a great deal of knowledge learning to efficiently drive my new 2016 Ruby Red Energi. Gkinla
