The gear on the post that the door rotates on likely has some broken teeth - it's just plastic. If the car is still under the 100,000 mile/8(?) year warranty for EV-specific parts, the dealership should replace at no cost. The doors come unpainted so it'll have to go to a body shop to be painted.

Also, insist to the dealership to check for every available software update for every single module. On my 2017, not only were the original factory 12V batteries defective that year but there were numerous software updates for numerous modules that needed to be installed to deal with 12V battery drain. -
I finally had successful contact with the Ford Executive Offices but, after they spoke to my dealer, that they do not recommend performing the upgrade for any VIN not under the CSP (which mine is not), regardless of who may ultimately pay for the 4G modem and labor.

While the car is there, have the dealership check that all software updates for the entire car have been applied along with testing the 12V battery - the 2017's had a bad batch of 12V batteries along with some software issues that causes a vampire drain that kills the 12V battery. After being stranded one time, finally got the dealership to replace the 12V battery and triple check that all modules had their latest software. -

What's maddening is that my 2019 owner's manual says that the remote functions provided by the modem have 4 years included with the purchase of the vehicle. However, digging into the warranty, shows that the Sync components are not included in the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty (page 15 of the warranty document when using the Ford Pass app).

It is unfathomable to me that, for owners whose cars are still under the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty, that this modem replacement is not a covered repair. It is not a consumable item like wipers, brakes, or tires. My dealer quoted me around $700 for the work. Not happening.

Yes, I did notice a loud fan as well when I first got my 2019 but I can't say as I have heard it lately. Of course, it's been winter for like 6 months now, lol, so maybe it's been kept cool enough or I got used to the sound. -

I've been able to squeak out around 33 EV miles on my 2019 where the best I could do was about 27 EV miles on my 2017. -

The extra range is nice on my 2019. Only downside I found is that the rear door handles do not have the keyless entry so, if one is opening the rear doors first, one must use the fob to unlock them rather than just pulling the handle with the fob nearby as the front doors work. Not a big deal. Otherwise, very similar to the 2017 I had. -

I have used Go Times on both my 2017 and 2019 Energi’s while plugged in at home on 120 and the HVB always shows as fully charged when I climb in - no apparent use of the HVB to pre-heat, even in Ohio winters. Granted, the pre-heat doesn’t do too much to melt the snow and ice on really cold days but it does help a bit. YMMV- 18 replies

Go Times Not Functional?

Found the solution: On the touchscreen in the car, in the Charging section, the Go Time section had my days, times, and temperature set, but the on/off button there was set to "off" (probably the factory default); enabling that, while plugged in and the car turned on, resolved the issue. The app did not indicate any issues with the Go Times at all; everything looked fine with the days, times, and temperature. -

Yup, it is set to 72 degrees, rather than off, for each day a Go Time has been set. -
Hello all, I have a 2019 Energi and the Go Times to pre-heat the cabin refuse to work for me. I had a 2017 where the Go Times worked perfectly but the 2019 is stubbornly not abiding by them. The car is plugged in, Go Times synced, and I even left the HVAC system turned on when I park at night and no joy. Any ideas? Thanks.

It is certainly louder than my 2017's fan (I rarely heard it) and with driving noise or at least music playing, it doesn't really bother me.

I have noticed the same issue: I am OK on accelerating from a dead stop on wet pavement or concrete but, if I am stopped on the stop line or the crosswalk line, its very, very easy to get a spin. I've even noticed just walking on these lines when they are wet can be entertaining. -
Did you try looking for updates for the Ford Sync software via owner.ford.com and on the unit itself?

Battery capacity @ 30K miles horrible

Battery cooling in hot weather is certainly an issue. I arrived at a county fair with around ~25% charge left on the HVB after driving about 70 miles on the freeway (using EVLater) and a mile or two in Automatic (and thus mostly via HVB for slow-moving traffic) mode. Cabin temp was set to 71 with the AC running until I parked at the fair. The car sat in the lot for ~6 hours and, upon my return, the HVB was down to about 10% charge. Ambient air when I arrived at the fair was about 80 and was almost 90 by the time I left. Clearly, the HVB was hot and required significant cooling after the drive and sitting in the hot sun until its temperature dropped. I've not yet seen any measurable battery life issues.
