Selecting Bluetooth Stereo from steering wheel controls.
rcolline replied to rcolline's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
Ping :) Turning off auto play for USB helped as the source no longer switches to USB when I dock my phone, however, it would still be nice to switch between FM and bluetooth via the steering wheel. -
After 20+ miles of driving, my 3 year old asks if the battery is empty and when I tell him it is, he asks how the car is still going. "Its now using gas". He replies "But the battery is still empty". Then 20 seconds later he notices the hybrid battery symbol and he asks "Woah, the battery is half full! how did the battery get half full?". And now I am completely at a loss on how to explain to my 3 year old the difference between the hybrid battery and the electric-only battery. "Driving charges the hybrid battery, but we are using gas" - he looks at me like I am talking nonsense. The display to the left of the spedometer does not help this explanation. Both are pictures of batteries with a blue bar inside :) The whole interaction with him makes me smile.

Anyone know how to use the right-hand steering wheel controls to select "Bluetooth Stereo" as my source input? It appears to be missing from the list. I can do it via voice command "Bluetooth stereo", "Play" or I can use the center MyFord Touch screen. Reading around I feel this is probably intentional to avoid tempting people to control their phones while driving. Thanks!

Given the app and the website share the same password this leaves me more vulnerable overall. Its funny because I am sure they intended it to be more secure, but in the end, people will use easier-to-type passwords lowering their overall security. Best intentions on the system designers, but sad for users. Not sure what Ill do. I wish I could disable the website access or use separate passwords, both not supported, but I may just have to suck up having a lame password to use the mobile version.

I find it frustrating that I have to enter my password everytime the app cold-starts on my Android phone. A good password is hard to type. Am I missing something? Is there a way to never prompt for password (I set a screen lock password) or prompt every 30 days? I believe it makes the app difficult to use. I can understand why they have a password given I can start my car from the app, however, I do not feel its worth the trade off. Thanks!

I too have forgotten to close the door 2 times in the last 2 weeks, my first 2 weeks with my car. I chalk it up to a new experience of actually plugging my car in. I am more aware of the door now and I make sure to close it. Funny, I too thought it might be popping open, but the more likely explanation is I forgot :) Common problem it seems!

Got my VIN number today. ETIS shows it as a 2002- TransitConnect! Very weird.. I assume this will change over time. The VIN has the right first 8 to show its a fusion titanium energi.. yay!

Congratulations! Mine is on order and I am patiently waiting. Its interesting to see the other cars you considered in your search. I had no idea the hybrid only did not come in the titanium trim level. How was the avalon? The newest body is actually attractive. The previous generations seemed to go after the over 65 crowd. Other cars I considered in my search: Lexus ES300h Kia Optima hybrid Honda Accord V6 (No plugins were available but I wanted to get a feel). The lexus was uninspiring and its hybrid felt very weak. It relied on the gas engine more than the fusion. Very nice interior and luxurious. There was a fairly loud whine as the regenerative braking system worked. The kia felt cheap inside. The controls felt too plastic and the AC display reminded me of cars from the 90s. Rear lit amber LCD monochrome. At low speeds the drive was a bit jerky as the hybrid and gas motor worked with each other. This car shined on the freeway and around corners. It was the best handling and quietest of the bunch! Even more so than the lexus. Honda Accord was well put together but I was uninspired. It had the most wind noise on the freeway. It also had this dual LCD display setup that seemed odd. The radio LCD was not very clear. The backup camera and nav LCD was fine, but it felt like an after thought in the dash. The fusion had the best hybrid drive experience. The electric motor was the most powerful and I really enjoyed the driving experience. The handling was second to the kia and way better than the honda and lexus. The LCDs flanking the spedometer had surprisingly good resolution. The information about the hybrid system was the most satisfying of the 3 I drove. Im excited about the mytouch setup and the mytouch app for controlling charge times. PG&E has TOU billing that will make this very handy. There is more I can gush about, but time to get back to work.
