  1. Just had my transmission replaced by Ford. Their cost was $7800. And if it wasn't under warranty add another 35% on top of that. The issue was a whine when I accelerated when it was in hybrid mode. Never happened in all electric mode. This is a 2015 Energi with 45K. I am not hard on cars and it freaks me out that this car is 18 months old and had to have a new trans put in. We keep our cars a long time and the only trans issue we had was on a Sequoia at 180K. I get that with use (towing) and miles on that vehicle. Ford service was great although since we are out of the bumper to bumper we did not get a loaner. Car was diagnosed and fixed within 2 weeks. Curious if anyone else has transmission issues similar to this.
  2. Thanks Hybridbear. I meant I haven't used my phone or GPS plugged into the car. I do regularly charge the car. And no, the car was unplugged when I heard the fans running. Susan
  3. Please add me in. 2015 Energi with wrench and reduced power in limp mode. Called RSA and the car was completely dead when they arrived. Jumped it to get into neutral and to take off parking brake for tow. Dealership found nothing but a dead 12V battery. Car is 9 months old. They did clean the throttle body which I had to pay for and though was odd for a new car, but I just wanted it back and working. Not even two weeks later and dead in my driveway. It was driven the night before. We are not a low use family either. It is on the road daily some times in EV mode and then in regular hybrid mode. Waiting to hear today as to what the real issue is. Clearly it wasn't just a "old" battery as we were informed with the first dead battery. I will suggest the cooling motor issue as I have noticed the fans running when the car is off. And I have not used ANY plug ins since we got the car back the first time. Other than this issue we have loved the car. But I have to have a reliable car for my weekly training trips 2 hours away in the middle of PA which include a late end at nearly midnight.
