  1. We turned in our leased 2012 Focus Electric for a 2015 Fusion Energi. We appreciate the range of the Energi and we had the 240 charger already. All electric drive is nice for quiet and acceleration. Overall the Fusion Energi Titanium package is really great. My wife says I can trade it in when I pry it from her cold, dead hands.
  2. The best 'not in a hurry' route is Oatman to Kingman, amazing road, I drive it when i can and feel "The Grapes Of Wrath' Route 66 experience.
  3. Not addressing insurance issues (we turned in our 2012 Focus FFE for a 2015 Fusion Energi & our insurance went down a bit, don't know why, 21st Cen Ins) I did drive the new 2016 Volt and 2016 Energi before leasing a 2015 Energy on sale. I have heard complaints about the new Volt but I did like it, better handling & acceleration and some other changes. I liked the older models looks but that is totally subjective. Ultimately i (we) liked the ride of the Energy, the price & packages. I do wish it had more electric range although the 20-25 mile range should work out well for us. I think GM realized that if you have a (mostly) electric car you can have strong acceleration. Our Focus electric was seriously fast, like a Focus performance model, too bad we only could cover 80 miles, but it was like a little Tesla. It seems Ford has not featured electric acceleration in the Fusion but it has a great ride. Early days, 1 week & 300 miles but so far very satisfied with the Energi.
  4. I had the same question. I expect to drive local a lot and will use EV only but we expect some long road trips where I cannot figure out how to optomixe the electric aspect of the Energi. We just turned in our leased 2012 Focus Electric, really great, well made car, regularly go 80miles a charge but it was our in town car. Very rare cases of range anxity and now those are gone but I did like the higher EV range than the Energi but the overall pacage seems likea good fit.
  5. We, well mostly my wife, picked up our/her Energi last week, great car. She had a 2012 Focus Electric and we loved the car but the buyout price was too high. We had rare occasions of range anxity with it since we had another car for driving out of town. So that is one nice thing about the Energi. Wish it went a bit further on electric but a lot of our driving is local so would be all electric then. We do expect to take some longer road trips so I do not expect much benifit from electric on those trips. I am trying to figure out optimal energy use for local and long distance.
