  1. That's too funny! Just don't run it in reverse;-) Don't follow this guy's lead:
  2. Thanks for the heads up. Just ordered mine. I have a Blink card but its good to be prepared. It's a lot easier to have the account set up rather than registering as a guest at the charging station.
  3. The remote starter is a little different in that you have to push the "lock" button, then the "X2" button twice. The green LED light on the key fob should flash, then turn on solid once the car starts. Keep in mind that it won't crank over and run like other cars. Since it is electric, it will just click, and the lights will turn on with perhaps a blower sound for your climate control systems. Let me know if that does or doesn't work.
  4. I saw a nice fully loaded White Titanium Energi there the other day too.
  5. If you live in the North Texas area, bring your Energi to Bill Utter Ford in Denton on Saturday. They are celebrating Earth Day and I'll be talking at noon about "Owning an Electric Car in the Real World." It's a good chance to meet each other and enjoy a free catered lunch. http://youtu.be/vgRN2SuuXaY
  6. Way to go DelS! What a great deal, and you're right...the technology is amazing. To counteract the learning curve, I downloaded the most recent manual and saved it to my library. Then I was able to sit in the Energi and go through particular functions with ease. There are also a ton of great videos on YouTube that show how to use or highlight features of the car. Just search by "2013 Ford Fusion Energi" or "FordOwner" to access the Ford videos. And of course, there's the best wealth of knowledge right here in this forum;-)
  7. This is actually a great feature that we use a lot by changing the image with the others that I've preloaded. The key here is to use that 800 x 384 dimension. Darker images or uncomplicated background shots are better. http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/gallery/image/99-my-fordtouch-home-screen/
  8. Hi Sparty - What has worked for me in those distances is to use the "EV Only" mode. If your commute is stop and go traffic, it will be the best one...if it is highway driving, you might try switching to "Auto" once you are at highway speeds. After about a week or two of driving it will learn your favorite destinations and switch to "EV+ mode" automatically and use only battery power for the last one to two miles. Other factors will be how steadily you accelerate and how smoothly you brake (be sure to use the coaches) as well as climate control. I just got back today from a 17 mile round trip and stayed electric all the way with air conditioning running and returned with 6 miles left on the Energi battery...and most of it was at highway speeds. Congrats in the new car...be sure to post some pictures when you get it.

  10. Thanks Jeff- 2) The one-touch windows seems to be a common thing, give this a try: - Hold button to put window all the way DOWN and continue to hold button for 3 seconds after window is all the way down - Hold button to put window all the way UP and continue to hold button for 3 seconds after window is all the way up - Hold button to put window all the way DOWN and continue to hold button for 3 seconds after window is all the way down This should reset the auto sensors to know how far all the way up/down is, and then the one-touch up or down should work again. I had this same issue and it worked for me (based on seeing this noted in another thread post), so give it a try. I had this same problem several weeks ago, and this fixed it. To verify, close all of your windows and exit your Fusion. Lock the car with your remote key fob, then hold down the unlock button until the windows all open...verify that they are all down. Then, depress the lock button on your remote key fob until all of the windows completely close. Again, verify that they are all up. If you have one window that is not going up or down, then reset it with by using the steps listed above.
  11. The way we justified it after our test is that is no different from a standard car that is running. You can drive it until it is turned off, them it won't allow you to start it again. You can always track it's location via the app.
  12. We tested this out and found that if it was left on, and you walked away...it would honk twice at five feet, then again at ten feet. After that it was quiet, and when I was a half block away, my son got in it and drove away. As soon as he put it in drive it honked twice, but that was it. Great thread idea!
  13. Same here. I tried it out and the cabin temperature was warm...all on the 110v charger. The real test will be how cool it becomes on a hot Texas day :-)
  14. Thanks Guys...it is grrrreat to be here.
  15. Thank-you so much pluggedin. Yep, I really was prepared to join the list and wait...but it was just good fortune that we had the exact color, trim, and features show up when they did. One thing for sure is that it is every bit worth the wait. The car is quiet, smooth, and a technological marvel. I'm looking forward to contributing in any way possible.
  16. http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/gallery/album/11-splendida-futuris-bright-future/Hey there - I've been watching this forum for a few weeks and have really enjoyed the expertise and experience here. We just picked up our Fusion Energi last week, and absolutely love the car! I first saw it at the Auto Show and had actually gone to research the C Max Energi as well as the other plug in hybrids that were offered. When we saw the Fusion Energi it was love at first sight. The seats were comfortable, the quality of construction was excellent, and of course the styling was unbelievable. Everything else that we looked at had the Prius feel or was built with really cheap plastic and didn't seem like they would last long. We bought the Energi for the technology and wanted every option that was available. After driving the Fusion Hybrid we made a deposit and found that they had a Sterling Gray Energi with the Titanium Trim Package was on the train and heading to our local dealer, (what luck was that?). Most of our driving is at close distance, so the Energi is the perfect car for us. So far we're averaging 84.5 to 97.0 mpg so we have really enjoyed the economy. I downloaded the PDF of the owner's manual and have read through it twice and have watched every video that I could in order to become more familiar with the systems. The only thing that we've done is tinted the windows and pinstriped it with a thin line from front to back. All that is left on my short list is to add the splash guards to the front and rear wheel wells and to track down a window shade for the windshield. Here are some photos that I've uploaded: http://www.fordfusionenergiforum.com/gallery/album/11-splendida-futuris-bright-future/ I'm excited to hang with you and offer whatever I can along the way.

The Fusion Energi name plate on the vehicle shows that you are helping to reduce gasoline usage by driving a plug in electric hybrid.

The My FordTouch home screen is easy to see and navibate the many functions that it contains. By integrating the Ford Sync system, many of the functions can be activated by simply speaking a few words. This allows your to focus your attention on the road ahead. A nice added bonus is that you can store up to 32 photos for the background...(that's over one different photo for every day of the month!)
  19. From the album: Splendida Futuris (Bright Future)

The headlights on the Fusion are bright and precisely light up the road ahead. On upgraded packages the brighr lights will automatically turn on when you are driving on a dark rural road, and dim when another vehicle approaches.
  20. From the album: Splendida Futuris (Bright Future)

The ring around the charging port will light up when it is charging, and will also illuminate when you open the door to show either the amount of battery charge that is remaining.
