Although I haven't transported a pizza in the trunk, I've put eggs, computer bags, iPads and even a bouquet of Mother's Day flowers without any problems. Of course, my tendency when I drive the Energi is not to drive aggressively anyway, but there hasn't ever been a concern of shifting items in the trunk.
The net mounts from the bottom of the trunk floor to about ten inches up...we're finding it to be very handy.
I like Russael's idea though ;-)

I completely agree. We saw it in Orlando and loved the styling and concept. But I was specifically looking for a plug-in hybrid which really limited the choices. Seeing that 17" screen in the middle was exciting and sure made me wish that manufacturers would integrate pads into their interiors...which will certainly be coming in the future. The Model S is a great car - I did two separate test drives and spent many months thinking about it.
The problem was that for that amount of money, one would expect a lot of amenities and no range anxiety... :-)
To be clear, the Energi is half the car that the Tesla is - in EVERY way including the cost. I just did not "need" the Tesla. The Energi allows me to to be "green" and also to enjoy some new technologies.

Like the Tesla, the Fusion Energi is a work of art and wins because there in no range anxiety and is feature rich. It is state of the art technology for a reasonable price.
Car and Driver has a great video review of the Tesla. I couldn't post the link but it is worth the look to get a good feel for the car.
Enjoy your new ride.

Welcome!
I like your perspective of a different type of enjoyment, although I still enjoy a cruise in my six cylinder and accelerating onto the highway from time to time. That GT had to love its gas like a sailor likes his rum though (semi quote from Captain Ron).

Welcome to the forum.
The Tesla -S is fantastic but you'll love the Energi. I had a guy in a Tesla roll up next to me last Saturday...he rolled down his window and stayed at my rear quarter until I turned off. We figured that he was jealous.

Glad she's okay.
Life is certainly precious and every day counts.

Glad to help, Larry.

Mine had the same problem that was caused by the window relay not being calibrated properly.
It's easy to fix by sitting in the driver's seat and rolling the window down by continuing to hold the window button down for a few seconds after it reaches the fully open position. If its quiet, you'll hear a click from that window motor relay.
Next, close the window by lifting up in the window button until the window reaches the fully closed position and continuing to lift up on the button for a few more seconds, you should also hear a click from the window relay.
That's it! If its calibrated you should now be able to push the window button for a second then release it while the window goes to the fully open position,,,then lift up on the switch for a second and release it while the window continues to travel to the fully closed position on its own.
After this is completed on each window using the driver door switches, your remote will be able to lower and raise all of the windows simultaneously.

Well said Russael.

Thanks for posting shaggy.
Very good information, and it tells me that there is a growing list of adopters of the EVs out there. It will be interesting to watch where the market for them goes even before the year is out. Of course though...we all know which of these is the best car in the world.

Unfortunately the timer runs when the vehicle is in accessory mode (green LED on the start button blinking) while sitting in the driveway and not capable of going anywhere.
I noticed that as well. It took a few days and I realized that I could run Sync/MrFord Touch by just using the power button on the unit rather than turning on the ignition.

Hi Murphy -
I couldn't get it to work either.
Here is the quote from my manual: "Trip Timer— timer stops when the vehicle is turned off and restarts when the vehicle is restarted."
-
Good information- I'm glad that you still had a charge in your EV battery when it shut off the pump
My guess is that it keeps a reserve in the tank in order to prevent it from running completely dry.

I know, I know... The salesman said that I didn't need the undercoating in Dallas, and in the rare event that it was identified as floating in the Pacific Ocean on a random Wednesday afternoon that I didn't need to worry. He added that there are so many airbags in the Fusion that it would float for hours ;-)

Same thing here.
Mine is out and about and the location shows that it is in the Pacific Ocean just east of Japan ;-)

Welcome to the forum, and congrats on getting an incredibly amazing vehicle.
With your commute, you'll best be able to take advantage of the Energi by saving the battery power once you get up to highway speeds and using the stored energy once you get back into traffic.
I've got the Energi and absolutely love it. By managing the systems and planning ahead I'm currently averaging 104 mpg/102 mpge.
Admittedly, most,of that is comprised, from local trips of 30 miles or less (one way)...but we purchased our car based on the need and it has been a fantastic fit.
You're gonna love it!

Hi NewBeetle -
The Quiet Start option will cause the blower to run at lower speeds when it is started remotely. Also, if it fails to start with the remote key fob, then the horn won't honk.
I enabled it, and it truly is real quiet when it starts up even when you are standing right next to it.
I've downloaded the owner's manual and refer to the PDF when I need to look something up, (or can't sleep at night)...but I've heard about the real thin paper that they used. They would have been better off printing two books on heavier paper, one for the car, and the other for the technology.

Excellent post Russael.
Congrats Mr. Fusion.
You both may have convinced me to make the jump as well...because after driving the Energi one thing is for certain - I'm hooked!!!

Welcome Jay -
We wish you many enjoyable and safe miles.

Congratulations!
What a beautiful pair of cars. I really liked the side by side comparisons.
Loved that Camaro too.

See the end of Ferris Bueller's Day Off for a nice tip on how to do that... :hysterical:
That's too funny! Just don't run it in reverse;-)
Don't follow this guy's lead:

Thanks for the heads up. Just ordered mine.
I have a Blink card but its good to be prepared. It's a lot easier to have the account set up rather than registering as a guest at the charging station.

I love the ACC!
More than anything, I arrive less stressed from driving on the highway. My biggest challenge has been to remember that my Honda doesn't have it and the speed and distance control ISN'T automatic ;-)
