  1. Wow! Congrats on the great numbers. I've got an average of 138.4 mpg showing on mine which I am pretty happy with...no scratch that...I'm VERY happy with. You may have a hard time breaking that engine in before your trip.
  2. Thanks for posting. It looks promising and you know a better battery will always be in our future. I wonder what the difference in weight is.
  3. That's pretty cool! It sounds like you've done your homework ahead of time. Welcome to the forum, and post some pictures when you can. The color combo sounds really nice.
  4. The four digit Pin is a lot easier as well.
  5. I like the extra information and the one time battery level alert...I'll be trying at out this weekend.
  6. Yeah I saw that... I like the one time battery alert. It will be handy when we just want to charge halfway and continue onward.
  7. Welcome to the forum! We've been a Honda family for years as well. I've got an F-150 so have really loved the quality. You will appreciate your Energi and the technology will keep you engaged in ways that you can't imagine. Post some pictures when you can.
  8. Actually it will... Just turn on the "Plug in reminder" in the notifications area and you'll get a text/e-mail when it is unplugged before the charging is completed.
  9. That's a great idea. We've got a Honda that drops them down when you put it in reverse which has really spoiled me. (I back into the garage). When you use a certain key, it will reset the seat and mirror setting to your key. So I'm gonna promptly go in and set Seat setting number 3 to "mirrors down" Thanks
  10. No problem - It looks like your data communicator module needs to be reset. Three options for you: 1. Take it to your dealer to be checked. 2. Call Ford Service to troubleshoot and verify: 800-392-3673 3. On the inside fuse panel that is to the left of the steering column, pull Fuse #15 (Datalink/Gateway Module). Let the fuse stay out for 30 seconds and reinstall. This is on page 239 of your owner's manual. I hope this helps, please let me know how you are progressing.
  11. Okay --- just some patience and we'll get it. How about going into your app again and back to the triangle --- but this time go to "Account" then "My Account" Double check to make sure that your email address and that your cell phone numbers are correct. Let me know, them we'll advance onward.
  12. One more thing to look at: Log into your account online: http://phev.myfordmo...site/login.html Then go to "My Account" and make sure that your notifications are all properly checked. Once they are, let me know.
  13. What a great event, and fantastic turnout! Thanks for spreading the word on how versatile electric cars really are.
  14. Hi Howard - Yeah...I get updates on all of them, so let's figure this out if you don't mind some trouble shooting. Do you get text/email updates when the charge is complete? How about on the first screen after you have logged in...does it give a current status when you hit the "Update" button? It that part is working correctly, it should say (in tiny letters) "Updated less than a minute ago"
  15. Couple of things --- 1. Insist on sitting down with the Finance Manager before you commit to anything in writing. By doing this, you can play around with different scenarios such as 3 yr vs 2 yr leases and the residual of each. You can also look at what different down payments will do for you. 2. On a lease, the dealer gets the $3,750 tax credit on their year end reporting, so be sure that it is credited toward your purchase price. 3. The Ford web site doesn't take any taxes or additional fees into account when estimating your payment, so unfortunately a $300 payment will never be realistic. 4. My dealer was fantastic about not adding on extra stuff, so I wasn't given the option of Wear Care. However, at $15 bucks a month it seems like you would have to be mean to your Fusion in order to come out ahead on that deal. It doesn't cover windshield damage either. I always park away from the store or restaurant and leave spaces around me clear. After three or four years of driving a car, it never has dings in it...so this extra amount per year wouldn't help buy me peace of mind. 5. You didn't list the sun roof option. It's certainly worth considering. No matter what, you will really enjoy your new Fusion and the incredible technologies that are built in.
  16. I signed up for both, but in Dallas it is mostly Blinks or independent stations. The infrastructure is pretty good, so I seek out the stations to see if there are any near my destination. One primary reason why I bought the Energi is to save gas, so it is worth the extra effort to me even if it is a quick one hour charge. Plus, we get a little extra walk under our belts and enjoy the experience of finding new places. On the negative side, those places that offer free charges are sure making a lot of money from us!
  17. You hit it on the head Jeff. I heard the scraping as well but noticed that it was on one side or the other. After looking underneath, I noticed the scrape marks on those little plastic pieces. First I was glad that it wasn't anything worse...then I was bummed that those pieces were getting scratched up ;-)
  18. Actually it will notify you via text and/or email in any of those things. Just open the app and push the "Triangle" button on the lower right. From there go to "Notification Settings" Once there, you can select what item you want to be notified on, and how to notify you. It's really handy because you know when the charge is complete, and even if the alarm has been triggered. I set each one to send me a text and an email.
  19. I'm glad that it worked out for you. Bring a bottle of wine for your salesman and sales manager...they deserve it.
  20. Sounds like a great trip. Here are my two cents... 1. It would be best to use EV later Mode while you are on the highway and switch to EV Now Mode when you are in slower traffic. Once the EV battery is depleted, (which it probably will, then it will revert to Auto Mode on its own. Be sure to pack your cord for charging when you get there. 2. 62 mph is the optimal performance speed that many owners report. Set your display setting on the left side of the instrument cluster to "Engage" so that you can monitor the energy management systems in action. You will find that the ICE will be assisted quite a bit from the Electric system. As,for me, I typically drive faster (around 70) and still enjoy good performance and fuel economy. The key point with this car is that the faster you go, the more compromises in fuel efficiency you will find. 3. ECO Cruise is good to leave on as the default setting. You will notice less aggressive acceleration on hills or when a slower car gets out of your way, but the steady acceleration found in the ECO cruise mode will provide overall better fuel economy. 4. Once the EV battery is depleted, it must be recharged by plugging in and the Fusion will revert only to Hybrid mode. All Regen energy will be directed toward the Hybrid battery. Other tips: + Check ahead along your route to find charging stations. I use an app called PlugShare. If you can determine where you will stop for lunch, then its always a good idea to see if there is an easily accessible place to plug in for awhile and add some more charge to your EV battery. Don't go out of your way and don't try to spend 2.5 hours to fully charge, but still it can be beneficial to charge for a half hour while you eat. I noticed that In n Out Burger at I-5 and 41 has an available outlet and the Flyng J further south has Shore Power outlets available. Likewise there are tons of places closer to the coast along our route. +. Enjoy the ride! Sometimes we get too stressed with trying to get 200 mpg on the highway, and forget to enjoy the comfort and the quiet of this well engineered vehicle. By using ACC, I have really found my journies to be very peaceful and driving time passes very quickly.
