2015 Energi Titanium ENGINE BLEW AT 10K miles
FusionNAZ replied to Wishboneusmc@gmail.com's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
I am not surprised about the decision from Walmart. Have you tried the corporate office? I was reading this post from another Walmart victim and it seems to be a common thing for Walmart to mess up oil changes (and not pay up). Here is the link for Walmart Corporate just in case you want to go up the ladder :detective: . If all else fails and you need an engine there is one for $1,329.00 on eBay or this engine . They should work just need the U in the 8th digit of the VIN (My Energi has the U so you should be good to go). Also, if you are in a decent size city you may find a shop that works on hybrids to drop it in for you. -
Have you considered upgrading to a level 2 EVSE? I found the charger that came with the car works well for overnight charging. I am really enjoying the ability to be re-charged in under 2 hours. On another note the finance guy (who has an energi) did mention that Ford recommends that the 110v be plugged onto a dedicated outlet/circut (like one for just a freezer etc.). That is one of the main factors when I decided to get a dedicated 220v 40 amp line for the car.

2015 Energi Titanium ENGINE BLEW AT 10K miles
FusionNAZ replied to Wishboneusmc@gmail.com's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
Did you end up getting the engine replaced? I know that my grandfather got a new engine before. Jiffy Lube forgot to put the plug back in and the engine blew up on the car. I hope you get the car back and running soon. -
Ok, so what is the deal with the headlight bulbs? I have found this post with a quasi half bumper removal. I also found this video for removing the front bumper and extracting the whole headlight unit from the car. I wanted to get a "HID" type look with traditional type bulb. I found a company PIAA that make some very bright stock like lights here. If I need to take the whole bumper apart then I may just wait till they burn out. If someone has just replaced them without taking anything apart please let me know.

From the website: "Our EVSE (Electric Vehicle Service Equipment) products are fully-compliant J1772 Level 2 solutions, with all required safety and charging system features.". found here: https://emotorwerks.com/juicebox I buy things from China all the time with UL compliant stickers and what not that are not UL. This system is great for price and technology. If someone wants something more mainstream from a large company I would recommend going that way.

Any news? Do they know what caused the issue? -
Has anyone tried running a health report through the SYNC system. I just performed that yesterday and got a fairly decent overview. If I want the full report I need to go to the dealer. Also, I did a system update via usb. I think the SYNC update is more or less a nav/dmtertainment thing. It would be interesting to know if anything pops up.

I am fairly new to the plug in car community and I really do not see much to compare the Ford Fusion Energi to a Volt other than they both plug in. I took a test drive in the Volt and the seats are like rocks and the interior was nothing but cheap plastic. Saying the volt is a midsize car is kinda pushing it. Below are the dimensions of both cars from 2013. From what I have been reading the new Volt will be more luxurious and look nicer. For the money, comfort and feature list Ford really has done well. Nothing against Chevrolet owners but the Fusion is just a lot more car for the money (minus the EV range). 2013 Ford Fusion Energi SE Luxury 2013 Chevrolet Volt Base Exterior length 177.1 " 191.8 " Exterior body width 72.9 " 70.4 " Exterior height 58.0 " 56.6 "

Purchase Titanium Fusion Energi in 2 Years for $21K
FusionNAZ replied to gtca's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Did you lease the Ford Fusion Energi? I just purchased a one year old Ford Fusion Energi Titanium for $20k CPO with 50k miles. Extended warranty to 2020/125k for $3k more. Depending on the miles you can get one very reasonably priced certifed pre owned. -
I got an answer for the parts/response time just going to copy paste it from my email. We are a small company, and have been plagued by some communication system issues. That said, we're pretty on top of it now. In this case here, you are communicating directly with me. Not our support. I am pretty on top of my comms (which are jam packed), but our general support has better response time. We are still working on staffing our support, as evident by the fact that I replied to your initial request. The case you heard about (3 days) sounds very long. That may have been over a weekend, or the contact may have been to an invalid address. It is rare, in recent times, that we drop comms for that long. USA: What follows is a (basic) breakdown: Enclosure - metal sourced from USA, manufactured in Cleveland OH, manufactured further in Santa Clara CA by Hill Mfg. Input Cable - cable manufactured in China, component + plug assembly in Michigan. Output (J1772) Cable - cable manufactured in China, J1772 assembly, QA, final assembly in Mexico (I think) by ITT. Warehousing in Southern CA. PCB (board) - Designed here, PCB raw sourced from China, SMT assembly, soldering, etc. in Fremont by TTS. Parts sourced from DigiKey (MN); derivative US and CN.End assembly and testing - in San Carlos, CA and Fremont, CA
-
This is true to a point for most things. A company cannot advertise a product as made in the US if its not. I have seen a trend of assembled in the US. It is hard to say but I can see all those components made here. I will need to clarify what the ratio is for the parts here vs pan asian continent.

I am glad it doesn't look like that. How funny! Most of them are not that fashionable in the least. I was between Clippercreek and eMotor Werks. I really like the idea of a WIFI set up... Either way I am under my set budget of 900 for the whole project (outlet and all). I even missed out on a nice unit on craigslist used that came new with the leaf for $500 but thats ok.
-
I will send you in a pm the sales person's name. Well it doesn't even have a screen or iPhone compatibility. That's ok I just wanted something simple that can travel to charge the car :oD.

I have been reading up in forums and online on the quest for the perfect charger. There are just so many great choices available out there for chargers. In the end I decided to go with the JuceBox Pro 40 amp charger. I chose this unit since it has WIFI and an android application. Reflecting back I would have not purchased this WIFI unit again. I should have spent the $50 more for the "smart" WIFI to determine when "Clean Coal" is charging the car. I found the installation to be straight forward without major complications (more work went into installing the outlet). This job only required a drill and a screwdriver for the bracket. I like the fact that this unit is 40 amps and can handle a lot more car down the road. Probably the most complicated part was getting the JuiceBox to communicate with the home WIFI. Then again it took me over 30 minutes to get the car to communicate with my WIFI. I will keep people posted on how the unit is functioning and if the long haul value is there. Also, I like to support the smaller business owners who have a product that is assembled in the USA with forigen parts (see later post for the exact ratio). This product meets those requirements and the support has been great also. Now on to the unboxing / installation: The box was smaller than expected for the charging unit. I was surprised that the unit came in less than two days. I ordered direct from the website http://www.emotorwerks.com. I I had a few questions prior to ordering and they where quick to get back to me. Started to open up to see the content. I spent extra for the licence plates ($7.99). I probably just ordered all of it for the plate frame. :spend: Finished removing the unit and parts from the box. Comes with a wall bracket, unit bracket, Plug (14-50p RV plug), charging cable, charging cable bracket. Easy to follow instructions with photos and a charging etiquette hanger. The hanger goes on when traveling to public chargers. The other side is the opposite saying not unplug. Installed the fancy bracket to the wall. I had to add one more screw for the bottom of the JuiceBox. Here is the bracket for the back of the JuiceBox (third mount point). Bracket mounted to the rear of the unit. Doing a dry run to see if everything is looking good. How it looks fully complete and installed. I do not have any photos from the WIFI setup. Also, the unit is portable for trips I would just need to get some adapters.

The $5,000.00 Ford Premium Maintenance Plan question

I bought that plan because I have an additional 75k miles to go. That's just what the terms are. I am new to ford in general. -
The $5,000.00 Ford Premium Maintenance Plan question
FusionNAZ replied to FusionNAZ's topic in General Discussion
Yes it was from the day it was first sold at the dealer not date of inception. For example I have about 7 years remaining or 125,000 miles remaining. I was very lucky to get a CPO (Certified Pre Owned) Ford warranty did not require an inspection just a call. I was looking online and there is a huge selection of loaded Ford Fusion Energi sedans for sale. For example one can get a 2014 Ford Fusion Energy with every option for just around or under $30,000 with less than 20k. I did not want a black interior so I lucked out on finding one with a ceramic color interior. -
I just picked up a 2014 Certified Pre Owned Titanium Entergi with the ceramic interior. The car has 50,000 and the ceramic interior looks great! I had to put some leather cream on the seats but otherwise it doesn't show too much dirt. I have honestly been more worried about the dirt that shows up on the black carpet. I will keep everyone posted if it stays that way. :bliss:

JuiceBox Classic 40-Amp EVSE - Any Concerns?
FusionNAZ replied to BLFarnsworth's topic in Batteries & Charging
I decided to take the plunge on the JuceBox and they where very prompt in answering my questions. I liked the fact that it comes with WIFI and an interactive app for my phone. Also, it was super reasonable (No shipping or tax). I will keep you posted on if it was an ok deal or not. How has the Leviton been working out? -
Recover the 5 digit security code
FusionNAZ replied to FusionNAZ's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
I am not sure and I will have to go back and check my manual for backwards/forwards for the code. The dealer wanted $60 bucks to get the code. I am usually last to the party so I thought I would share what I found out. I will have to go read the book and check page 59. -
There are a lot of Mondeo parts for sale on ebay.com. The only thing is that the headlights and other Mondeno parts are not compliant for the rules of the road in the US. THey need to be made of certain material and have certain colors. I came across this issue with getting Japanese Domestic parts for my Honda. Also, the quality can be very poor for the headlights. I bought a set of aftermarket lights and had to uninstall them one week later. I would avoid the LED or other off brands due to the inconsistency in quality. I ended up going and getting a "brighter bulb" from ebay. They ended up being the easiest (and cheapest) fix. Per Sylvania the low beam bulb for a 14 Fusion is H11. This act alone will brighten up any dark night :) . here is an example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/PHILIPS-H11-5000K-12V-55W-Diamond-Vision-White-Light-fit-FORD-Low-Beam-/361386943436?fits=Year%3A2014%7CMake%3AFord%7CModel%3AFusion%7CSubmodel%3AEnergi+Titanium%7CEngine+-+Liter_Display%3A2.0L&hash=item54245723cc&vxp=mtr

What Level 2 Charger did you buy/install?
FusionNAZ replied to jeff_h's topic in Batteries & Charging
Hey all! I am to be part of a great community! I am having an electricion come by tomorrow and install a 40 amp line and breaker. I have read up on all the units that are listed above I was burning the midnight oil so many choices. I ended up going with a brand that was not listed up above. Its a small company eMotorWerks and they do the JuceBox charging systems. I went with them for the following: 1. The price $549 +$7.99 (no tax/shipping) for licence plate frame (kiss my amps). 2. Future expansion adjusts for the fusion or up to a Tesla. 3. Portable when removed from wall. (can buy adapters) 4. Comes with 14-50p plug (RV plug). 5. Has WIFI built in for more connectivity options. 6. Autonomous features just plug and walk away 7. Has a phone app for the charge unit. 8. Weatherproof for indoors or outdoor use. 8. Small US company all components made in USA. www.emotorwerks.com/ -
Anyone changed appearance of grill? Maybe blacked out?
FusionNAZ replied to howardbc's topic in Appearance
Hey Bobbie! I read your post about changing the grill. Did you change it yet? Are you fairly good with arts/crafts? If so you can easily do a vinyl wrap on the grill with a hair dryer, a pair of scissors and a bit of patience. Heat gun is probably best but it can be done otherwise. I am fairly good with DIY projects myself who knows I may end up doing a write up. There are so many choices for black if you want gloss, flat, carbon fiber. Example Video: I think the plasti dip is an option as well. Has anyone had issues of the plasti dip getting on other components? I would be afraid of getting the spray on the vents or other internal components. -
A few quick question on the cam's that y'all have. Do you have to keep pulling the devices out to sync? Is it just the one device or a multiple of devices? Getting a dash cam is kinda a new idea for me. Does it matter if it faces just towards the front or both? I know that there is an app for cellphones to turn them into dash cams.

I wanted to share this with everyone who may have lost the small piece of paper with the factory code that is 5 digits. There is a faster and easier way than dissembling the smart fuse box to read the back. You will need both smart keys and a scratch pad for notes: Displaying the Factory Set Code With Integrated Keyhead Transmitters Note: You will need to have two programmed passive anti-theft keys for this procedure. To display the factory-set code in the information display: The factory-set code will display for a few seconds. Note: The code may not display until after any other warning messages first display. With Intelligent Access Keys Note: You will need to have two programmed intelligent access keys for this procedure. To display the factory-set code in the information display: E147165 NOTE The factory-set code will appear in the information display for a few seconds. Note: The code may not display until after any other warning messages first display. Open the center console. Insert a key into the small slot under the aux plug (left front inner arm console). Press the START/STOP button once and wait a few seconds. Press the START/STOP button after 5 seconds. Insert the second programmed key into the backup slot, then press the START/STOP button. Press the START/STOP button again and remove the key. Wait a few seconds and the code will appear on the left smart screen. I hope this helps anyone who doesn't have or lost this code. The local dealer wanted $60.00 for this code. So for a little time you can get it yourself. I have updated this specifically for the Ford Fusion Energi. The manual shows how it is done with a regular key. Thanks to Openair's reply I was able to tweak the actual instructions from page 59 of the owners manual.
