What are the rules, if any, for charging using a wall plug in a public garage? I pay for monthly parking in the garage in the basement of my building. Access to the garage is by key card for monthly parkers only. There are wall outlets all over the garage. Are there any ground rules for just plugging in the convenience cable and filling up? Legal? Illegal? Likely to lose the charging cable? Likely to get thrown out of the garage?

Win a Clipper Creek Level 2 Charger AND $300 towards Install
http replied to 47Minutes's topic in Batteries & Charging
You've got your car already AND you've entered the contest for a free charger? No fair! I do have the site bookmarked in case my NRG arrives before June 15. -
On the advice of this forum, I requested a paper copy of the Taurus brochure. It came in the mail today with a $750 off coupon for a new Ford vehicle. There are some exclusions like Boss Mustangs and Shelbys and you only get $500 on Fiesta and Focus, but my Fusion TI NRG is due at the dealership on May 29. The coupon expires on July 5. We'll see how this goes.

Malibu3105, If you would like to update the spreadsheet, you can show DR319147 as "In Transit" with an ETA of 29 May. My salesman thinks they can do better than that, so it shouldn't be long now. I'll let you know when it's delivered to close out my row on the spreadsheet. Thanks, http
-
If you're in San Antonio, your car is just around the corner. My NRG was also built on May 8 and was passing El Paso at midnight last night. It'll still be a while until I get it in Northern Virginia. I have an ETA of 29 May.

My sales guy is pretty good at keeping me in the loop. I was surprised that Etis had the build date before I got an email from him. I figure I'll wait till next week and ask him or ask cyberdman over in the BOF to get me a rail car number.
-
I have a build date! May 8. But what does that mean? Is that the day the car started rolling down the assembly line or the day it rolled off the assembly line? In short, when could I reasonably expect to get a railcar number indicating the car is in transit? Please update the progress spreadsheet for DR319147. The Sticker Date should be: May 2, 2013 The Est. Actual Build date should be: May 8, 2013 The build week is correct as shown. The dealer told me that the estimated build week was the week of May 6 and they appear to be right on schedule. I hope to be gas-free by Memorial Day! Thanks again for keeping this spreadsheet. I gives me something to do while I'm waiting for the car. Now all I need is a name for it.

2014 Energi changes... get your Bordeaux order in now!
http replied to jsamp's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
Get your Bordeaux order in now? I did. Now all I have to do it get the car. I hope they build it before they run out of paint. -
The easy fix for this is to crank up that premium Sony sound system until the noises go away.
-
WooHoo! Got my sticker today! And it correctly reflects what I ordered! Mr. Malibu, if you would please, update the spreadsheet record for my Bordeaux Reserve Red Energi TI (DR319147) to show a sticker date of 5/3/2013. My sales guy sent me an email on May 1 that said my car was "in production" but the Ford ETIS site hasn't reflected this change, so I don't think that counts as a build. My build week was estimated as next week, May 6, so I'd just leave that as you have it now on the spreadsheet. Thanks! (Do I sound excited?)

How to Read Window Sticker to Find Build/Ship Date
http replied to mets67's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Jeff_h Thanks for the advice. I DO have an account on the BOF, but I spend most of my time here. Just like the conversations better. However, I'll follow up on your recommendation and start posting to Blue Oval. I really like my salesman at Ted Britt Ford in Fairfax. He seems to be on top of my order. -
How to Read Window Sticker to Find Build/Ship Date
http replied to mets67's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
So I got an email from my sales guy last night who said my car was "in production" on May 1. Actually, he just cut a pasted a line from whatever system he uses to check. I still can't see my sticker and ETIS has the 30.11.2002 default. Is there normally a lag? I take it the "in production" status means it's getting ready to roll down the line. I would like to see the sticker to make sure they got the order right, The anticipation is killing me. Reading this forum doesn't help. I can't recall reading about any product that has so few negative comments. Everybody seems very pleased with the features, gas mileage and styling of the Fusion. -
How to Read Window Sticker to Find Build/Ship Date
http replied to mets67's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
This is a very helpful topic. My Energi is scheduled to be built next week.I've been hammering the server at http://fordlabels.webview.biz, but still no sticker. The etis site acknowledges my VIN, but until the car is built, it's not much help. Apparently you can track the rail shipment if you know the rail car number. Cars coming from Hermosillo ship on Union Pacific. Mine will probably get transferred to a CSX consist for the trip to Northern Virginia. I got this from a 2-year old thread on an F-150 Ford Raptor forum, don't know if it still works: First and most important. Never talk to live personnel at the railroad! Only use automated phone system. If it attempts to transfer you to a live person please hang up. The railcar information we are provided by is given as a courtesy and if we call live personnel we may lose the access and ability to track. CSX 1. Call the CSX 1-800-235-2352 2. When prompted for location or weight, press "1" on your phone for location. 3. When prompted for the car initials, say CN (or whatever initials you have) then wait for the next prompt. 4. When prompted for the car number, say 907048 (or whatever your number is) 5. When prompted for next car say DONE. 6. That's it; enjoy your updated status report. Union Pacific 1. Call UP at 1 800 877-5123 1 800 877-5123 2. Follow phone prompts for Trace 3. Say the railcar number complete and clearly. Example CN123456 all together 4. Listen for your update These automated systems can be frustrating. Keep in mind they are intended for use by folks that use them daily all day long. Like I said if you are being transferred to a live person please hang up and try again. -
I, too, am scheduled for a build the week of May 6. Not sure I want my car assembled the day after Cinco de Mayo.

Here's your chance to develop the app you've always wanted and perhaps get paid, to boot. Ford has open-sourced the OpenXC platform for accessing vehicle data on a smartphone, tablet, web app or other mobile device. You can develop your own app and enter it in the Ford Personalized Fuel-Efficiency Ideas Challenge. See http://ford.challengepost.com/ for contest details. You can read more about the OpenXC platform at http://openxcplatform.com and download the software from the Github at https://github.com/openxc Looks like a fun summer activity. Of course, I need to have my Energi delivered before I can start hacking the software.

Hey! Fusions CAN fly. I saw the commercial on TV. It must be true if it's on TV.

Clever idea for words on license plate frame for plug-in hybrid?
http replied to howardbc's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
Don't know about the frame, but here in VA, vanity plates are relatively cheap. That's why my plate is my nickname, http. I was thinking that "NO GAS" or "100 MPG" would be some good plates. They're already taken in VA, but, as they say, YMMV. --http -
My bad. I meant to put it in the body of the message as well. And I just figured out why the sticker date is different than the VIN date. Sometimes the lights come on very slowly.

I read that Ford is discontinuing the Bordeaux Red for 2014. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Mine is on order. Will that make if more valuable or flag it as an older model?

I, too, am new to the board while waiting for my Bourdeaux Titanium to be delivered. I'm a geek who needs all the gimmicks, so I got the Driver Assist (and moonroof, and nav, and cruise) but decided not to get the Parking Assist after heading how it can get annoying unless you disable it. I can parallel park by myself, but it's very rare to find a spot. Who wants to park a nice car like that on the street anyway? Ordered on 3/14 with an estimated lead time of 6-8 weeks. After reading the stories here, I'm not hopeful. So until it shows up on the lot, I'll just enjoy my new car vicarously through you folks. BTW, my nickname, http, is what I have on my license plate. I'm a software engineer and webmaster.

So YOU'RE the guy who got the Bordeaux at Apple Ford! I'm in Virginia and was trying to get a local dealer to grab that car for me. They offered to do so if I would pony up $4,000 over sticker. I opted not to do that. So now I'm waiting for my car to be assembled and shipped. The dealer expects it by the end of May, but after reading this board, I'm not hopeful. Most of the VA dealers only have 1 or 2. I noticed that Apple has 15 in stock. What's the deal? Hope you enjoy your Energi

Virginia to charge Hybrid, EV and PHEV owners $100 fee.
http replied to Taylorjd's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
According to the WaPo, the VA Assembly reduced the extra $100 to $64.
