Strange but true. The SyncMyRide compatibility list shows the S II of capable of phonebook download and text messaging. On the listing for S III and above, those features are missing. My confusion is that the features aren't listed. With some phones, the features are listed, but x'ed out so you know they tested them and they failed. In the case of the Galaxy S III and S IV, the features aren't even listed. I'm not sure if they aren't available or just weren't tested. Photo ID puts up a picture of the person who is calling (or who you called) on the screen if you have a photo of the person on your phone. My wife hates her picture, but it's kinda cool.

Need some help from the forum. I'm eligible for a smartphone upgrade on Verizon and I've been looking at trading my Motorola Droid for a Samsung Galaxy S4, however, it looks like I'll lose some features on SYNC. According to the phone compatibility chart on SyncMyRide, my Motorola supports: Automatic Phonebook Download Bluetooth Audio Streaming Caller ID Call History Download Join Calls Photo ID SMS Text Messaging Transfer to Privacy If I transfer to Samsung, I'll lose Automatic Phonebook Download, Photo ID and SMS Text Messaging capabilities. Is that correct? Anybody out there using the Galaxy S4 who can confirm? I have used those features on my Motorola and would hate to lose them. Thanks!

Just finished installing my Visual Garage shark fin antenna on my Energi. They did a good job with the color match and the installation was pretty easy, but I needed my wife to help me get the fin lined up correctly. I haven't noticed any significant signal degradation on HD or Sirius. Here are some before and after pictures.

Yep. I like the NuShield Triple A. It comes in the correct size for the main stack display. When you order the screen protector, you can buy a pack of Klear Screen cleaners (3 to a pack) for an extra $1.99. You clean the screen with one of those before you apply the protector.

:) I had exactly the same reaction when I first got my car. I had to go to the owner's manual to locate the power button in the upper left hand corner of the control stack. It's got the classic 1 inside the 0 glyph for power on and off.

Normally it's not a big deal, but today I learned that you can't charge your Energi and run a Shop Vac at the same time on the same 20 amp circuit. Strangely enough, the breaker didn't pop when I turned on the Shop Vac. I was using it for about 30 seconds before the breaker went. So far, I haven't had any problems with the garage door opener which is also on the same circuit. In any event, the 7 amp setting on the Leviton should make sure I don't have a problem, so long as I'm not in a hurry to recharge.

Yes, I've looked at the Clipper Creek, but it's a permanent install. I just want a second cable that I can leave in the garage for overnight charging without having to dig into the trunk every time. I guess I'll go with the Leviton. According to the Leviton web site, you can select slow (12 amp, 1.4 KW) or really slow (7 amp, 0.8 KW) charge settings so you don't overload the circuit. I'm using a non-dedicated 120v plug in the garage, so that's probably the best way to go.

I decided that I don't need a Level 2 charger at home. I'd have to add a subpanel and run a new outlet. I mostly charge overnight anyway, so I decided that I could get by with an extra L1 charging cable mounted in the garage. Apparently, Ford raised their prices on July 1. For an OEM cable, Ford part number FM5Z10B706A: Ford Parts was $510. 23 now $701.49 Varsity was $408.18 now $561.19 Levittown was $420.94 now $578.73 Ouch! I'm thinking of going with the Leviton EVC11-300 at Amazon for $497.88. Has anybody had any experience with this cable? Are there any other options other than making up my own cable or the ClipperCreek permanent install? Thanks

I love it. They were going to give you a special "deal" for only $2,300 but later agreed to $760. That's a new definition of the meaning of the word "deal". I continue to be amazed at the markup on these contracts.

You got that right. I am 0 for June. With over 900 miles on the odometer I still have just under half a tank of the original full tank when the car was delivered. And I am not the mileage leader. Others have done much better. I may need the owner's manual to remind me where the gas door button is located.

Make sure the dealer has the car fully charged before your 6 1/2 hour trip home. If you're not used to an EV, the silence is amazing. You're obviously going to exceed the battery range, but you deserve some time to enjoy the EV.

I would have thought the same, but apparently there are 2 or 3 price levels for volume dealers or dealers get incentives for selling X number of ESPs. My dealership is a high volume dealer and they could not understand how were being undercut by Flood.

Cost of using car charging (Chargepoint, Blink etc.)
http replied to Kiros's topic in Batteries & Charging
Yeah, I know and I've been watching the charges. So far, the maximum charge has been $2.39 for 4.882 KWh and I could've sworn that I rolled in to the garage on hybrid. Maybe not. I've been getting 23-25 miles on a charge, up to 29 if I have the air off and windows open. The way traffic is around here, it's rare when you can crank it up to 55-60 on the beltway, so I get pretty good battery performance. -
We did compare apples to apples. I even went online at the dealership and asked them to match Flood's price. First the finance person checked it and she called over the sales manager. They both said not only was that below their cost, but the sales manager said she would be on the phone to Ford the next day. It might have been an elaborate act, but they seemed genuinely pissed. I see Flood is back online today. The correct option is "Fusion/Flex including hybrid". My cost for 7 yr. 75K, $100 deductable was $1,030. My dealer claimed that their cost was somewhere around $1,300.

Cost of using car charging (Chargepoint, Blink etc.)

My company uses ChargePoint and charges 50 cents per KWh. Not the best deal around, but still cheaper than gas. There are a bunch of free chargers in the area at malls, groceries and restaurants. The local Trader Joe's just opened an EVgo station. For Level 2 charging, EVgo quoted me an annual fee of $60 for unlimited charging. Since I only know of 2 EVgo chargers in the area, I'm not likely to sign up. -
My Energi experienced the same issues that larryh has reported at the top of the thread. I got the Sync performing scheduled maintenance BSOD to recover. I have just downloaded the reset app that will be a permanent fixture in my car. Thanks
-
foxx, larryh is correct, there is only one rate for the Fusion that includes hybrid and Energi. I bought a Flood Ford ESP for 7 yrs, 75K mi. at a price my dealership could not match. After quoting me $3.995, I showed them the Flood price (we actually went to the web page) at approx. $1,100. They said their cost was $1,300 and they seemed pretty pissed that Flood undercut them. I declined the dealer's offer, went home, and bought the Flood policy. They have your VIN, so they know exactly what car is on the policy. I went out to look at the Flood site to check what I was saying here and the site is offline right now. I don't know if they are down for maintenance or if something else is going on.

Same here. Strangely enough, when I picked up the car, my Ford dealer offered to install LoJack for an additional cost. When I asked why I would need LoJack in my TI Energi that already has GPS tracking, the finance agent apologized and said that she just had to use the dealership checklist for all sales processing.

Anyone know about the spare tire on the Energi?
http replied to jsamp's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
Are run-flat tires available for the Fusion? That would be the way to go. I had run flats on my previous car, a BMW Z4 because there was no room in the trunk for any sort of spare. (My NRG trunk is spacious compared to the Z4) The only way I knew I had a flat was when the tire pressure light came on. And since the sidewalls are built to provide a miminum amount of stability, there was a reduced risk of loss of control in the evernt of a blowout. I was thinking I might get run flats when my OEM tires need replacing. -
Badrock, Is that your garage?

Shaggy, Three days ain't so bad. Mine spent a week in Chicago bouncing between railyards. Union Pacific is no UPS and certainly no FedEx.

I ordered my shark fin on Thursday. You email them and they'll send you a PayPal invoice. Pay the invoice and they'll start processing your order. They are in the midst of a web site overhaul, so they won't be shipping until sometime in July.

Insurance Company not able to determine Energi model
http replied to fpliptak's topic in Lounge - Off Topic Discussion
USAA had this fixed on Saturday. It took about 2 seconds to get an insurance card. -
Yes indeed. It does not stay selected. That should be an easy software fix, just another setting to persist. Anybody know how report a glitch to Ford?

Hi Folks, Malibu3105 is expecting his delivery in the next few days and would like some quality time with his new baby without having to mess with the order tracking spreadsheet. Therefore, I have volunteered to maintain the tracking spreadsheet for a while. Please continue to post updates to this forum as before and I'll try to keep up with the tradition. I know I enjoyed reading about other people's progress when I was waiting for my car and I hope others will enjoy it as well.
