  1. The 2017 is a significant refresh. Next Fusion 2020 or 2021. 2020 is also the debut year for the Ford Model E. Recall that the last Generation fusion was refreshed in 2010. The current body was introduced as a 2013. An early 2020 may happen. I'm guessing that 2017 is the last CMax Energi. The car has been basically untouched since minor aero tweeks in 2014. The line is moving to Mexico for 2018. I expect no surprises from Ford.
  2. I agree 100% My perfect vehicle would be a EV version of the Lincoln MKC or Tesla 3, but I need a rated 300 mile range (to compensate for cold weather reduction). Bolt is close!
  3. Ford's Model E is said to arrive in late 2019. In 2013 there was a lot of industry talk of 2018 being a big model year for Ford hybrids, plug-ins and EVs. Now there is not even a hint of modest plug-in improvements in the 2018 model year. One can only conclude that Ford is at least 3 years behind Chevy and Tesla. This is odd because they were far ahead in 2010 when the first Fusion Hybrid came out. Ford's CEO said they could build a Tesla-like vehicle. Clearly there has been a deliberate change in direction and a choice to watch and wait, As a Ford guy and EV buyer I am very disappointed! This might be the correct choice for Ford profits but a sad choice for me!
  4. Checking this and similar sites, Ford is currently upgrading 2015 (and 2016?) MKC's at no cost. The upgrade is being planned for CMax and Fusion Energi's. Don't count on it being free! I have a 2016 so I am hoping it will be. My educated guess is late Summer. The Ford Staff monitoring this site have very limited authority outside of their job description and often have no more access to info than we do. They can help and have helped me more than once. Perhaps they could help with a status update on the MKC program?
  5. This is one reason Tesla does not have dealers! Ford has no power to order a priority repair.
  6. I get the frustration, but give the car with a new HVB a chance. My 2013 had a few issues the first year but was a great car. I bought a 2016 Fusion Energi which shares the drive and most Issues with CMax. By all means an extended warranty makes sense on this car. Ford would typically offer one to you at this point. You are a Ford customer! That does mean something to them (personal experience). If you like the car but lack confidence ESP warranty is the answer. If you have one from the dealer you can probably "return" the warranty. Ford can directly provide one to you a modest cost to Ford. These cars are great! As an early adopter patience is needed. I would buy another today if I were in the market. Customer service can help. PM the folks from Ford who monitor this site. Doug0716 is 100% right!
  7. On my 2013 CMax I would pay a reasonable upgrade charge. My 2016 Fusion Energi is 3 months old! That should be upgraded at no cost. ATT's plans have been well known for quite a while.
  8. A friend has a 2015 Lincoln MKC. There is a current recall or upgrade campaign to replace the current ATT 2G modem with a 3G modem. The modem is part of the Lincoln version My Ford Mobile. I assume 2013-2016 Fusion Energi's and CMax Energi's have 2G modems. Any word of an upgrade? ATT is in the process of shutting 2G service off. I would note that Tesla upgraded from 3G to LTE in spring of 2015. Loss of the embedded modem would severely reduce the unique capability of our Energi's.
  9. Yes! Get a 240v charger unless the installation is difficult. I am on my second plug-in ( 2013 CMax, 2016 Fusion Energi) and will always have a plug-in or ev. Leaving the car plugged-in and preconditioning greatly increases the car's utility and enjoyment. Winter or summer my car is 72 when I get in. Check if there is a tax break for a 240v charger. The only question for me is which one? There is plenty of good advice on this forum!
  10. My 2016 is similar. Since I always had it in my 2013 I know it is a change. My guess is they removed it because the range can appear on the screen just to the left of battery symbol
  11. This is a mid-cycle refresh: New grill, tail lights and a few tweeks. I predict led headlights and some trim changes. One of the releases mentions an upgrade for the battery. Newer chemistry? I'm guessing a 24 mile range. A refresh! My disappointment is that Ford is no longer a leader by choice! They are clearly trying to manage reduced expectations. Nevertheless, the next few years should bring some good options for Ford buyers like me! My guesses are from a careful reading of the media and the major EV sites.
