Well In my case I am on 240 charger at my office so the car is remote started (and runs for at least 5 minutes) and set to 74 degree's. The issue is from a standing start or 5 miles into my trip home it will change to ICE when the temp is over 80 outside. No obstructions to the venting and I am running with AC set at 74. I am not running out of EV ever the issue is the Batt Temp gets to high.

Wow so I just got off the phone with the Dealer. After my third case of EV Mode changing to Hybrid Mode when the vehicle operates in Outside Temps above 82 degrees I just got shocking news... Per Ford Motor Corp the Service Manager called to inform me that this is normal behavior. My comment was Ford better STOP selling the Energi in the Southeast hell just about anywhere in the Southern US. I have requested a meeting with the Ford Manager anyone have another suggestion on the best process to follow? I am just completely mind boggled. I am the perfect person for the Energi. I drive 18 miles to and from work and I'm into my 5th week on the same tank of gas with 3/4 remaining. So Ford seems to think I need to go from 349mpg because I use EV to the Hybrid Mode which is seeing 40mpg at best.... I Love my Fusion and such a huge advocate but this is a deal breaker. I am just speechless to hear that the EV Battery has an operating temp that is so low. Just wow... I will update tomorrow with the actual documentation from Ford....

What Level 2 Charger did you buy/install?
Earthdog replied to jeff_h's topic in Batteries & Charging
@Russell I have a friend that works for a Comercial Level 2 Manufacturer. His point is they would never be a few hundred dollars until the licensing fee is gone. -

A big part of the cost and why we won't see these come way down in the is the Company holding the Utility Patent for the plug is charging $200.00 per unti for the plug alone..... -
I own 2 Clipper Creek LS25's I love them. Check out www.metropluggins.com

At least 16 feet. -
I have the same issue as well. Figured I would address on first service.

I also can't get the go times to do a thing on either 110 or 240. I thought it was just me, I finally resorted to using the remote start to het up or cool down in advance.

So here I am in Atlanta, GA last Wednesday and its all of 82 degrees with 18 miles of EV remaining and noticed the Hybrid Motor was running. So I flipped over to the info screen and see that I am in Hybrid Motor Mode Due to Battery Temp. Now I admit I am running w/o Climate sunroof open to get all the EV miles I can but.... next day it fine... Is this as to be expected or should I be going back to the dealer 40 miles away?

Problem getting AFV license plate issue Georgia
Earthdog replied to Earthdog's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
Yep the dealer screwed up. Finally got it somewhat squared away. They can't give a an AFV Tag at the moment because they have to get Ford Motor Credit to return the Title since it was done incorrectly. Once its reissued I can get a AFV Plate... So I am hoping in Red Tape and Government time I figure it will take a month or two. I don't know the code they used but it should be "O". -
I have one too and its great. http://www.metroplugin.com/shop/clippercreek-lcs-25/

I bought the Clipper Creek unit from Metro Plug-in www.metroplugin.com Greg has ben excellent to work with and the product is perfect. I am charging from 0% in less than 2.5 hours. The odd thing to me is when charging on 110 (at home) the car only gets to 21 miles, at the office on the LCS-25 it always shows AND GOES 25 miles. Just thought that was odd as if its getting more of a charge on the LCS-25. Also the LCS-25 charging is with eGo Times that turn on the AC before I leave the office. -
Problem getting AFV license plate issue Georgia
Earthdog replied to Earthdog's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
I do understand the Tax Credit side but I am only after the AFV Tag which means I can use the HOV Lanes with a single passenger. Note the items in Red. State of Georgia Alternative Fuel Vehicle License Plate and High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) Lane Access Details The State of Georgia offers a special license plate for alternative fuel vehicles, which allows access to the designated HOV lanes. Any vehicle that has been certified by the EPA in accordance with the Federal Clean Air Act may apply for the Georgia AFV License Plate. How to apply for the incentive If you are purchasing a PHEV (such as the Chevy Volt), you must ensure that the car is registered properly by the auto dealer with the correct fuel code distinction (‘O’ for ‘Other’ or ‘F’ for ‘Flex’), which will allow the car to qualify for the AFV License Plate. (Note that the default electric/gas designator is type ‘B’ which does not allow for issuance of the AFV Plate.) 1. Print and complete the “Application and Verification for Issuance of an Alternative Fuel License Plate” form from the Georgia Department of Revenue website (http://motor.etax.dor.ga.gov/forms/pdf/motor/MV_Application_Verification_Alternative_Fuel _License_Form_AFV.pdf). 2. Apply at any Georgia Department of Revenue County Tag Office. Note that certain costs are associated with the AFV License Plate, in addition to the standard annual registration fee. This includes a one‐time Manufacturing Fee, and the Annual Special Tag Fee. If you prepaid the manufacturing fee please include your original receipt showing payment to avoid being charged twice. Important stipulations Plug‐In Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) such as the Chevy Volt must be registered properly by the auto dealer with the correct fuel code distinction (‘O’ or ‘F’). This fuel code cannot easily be changed after the vehicle’s VIN is registered. If you are unsure if your vehicle qualifies, you can verify eligibility with the Georgia Dept. of Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Division at 404‐363‐7028. The Official Code of Georgia Annotated (O.C.G.A.) 40‐2‐76 defines an Alternate Fuel Vehicle for the purposes of the AFV License Plate as a vehicle that has been certified by the EPA in accordance with the Federal Clean Air Act. The owner must operate the vehicle on electric power not less than 85% of the total time the vehicle is in operation per year. So I have an issue and need some suggestions. In Georgia they are refusing to issue me a Alternative Fuel Vehicle tag as They say that the Ford Fusion Energi is not on the Federal EPA approved PHEV list. I am wondering if anyone else has had this issue and a link to anything I can use since I can't seem to locate a Clean Air Certificate from the EPA. TIA, Jeff

Murphy, Thank you so very much. Ok I will go for the 40amp breaker then. They are providing the wire (all of 2 feet) and the rigid conduit. We are replacing an 80Amp breaker for an old warehouse furnace thats now gas. Sorry to drive you nuts with questions. So since the GE is 7.2kw not 7.6kw is it not the right purchase for the future? Should I buy something else the $899.99 was a fair deal and they were going to price match me to $849.00? Thanks again for you time and expertise.
-
Murphy, Can you help me with a few questions? I am going to go to Lowes and buy all the parts and the electrician said he will install the breaker and outlet for $75.00 in labor. So I want a switch like you did to stop the draw so my thought was the following items: GE Level 2 Wall mount 1 dual gain box 1 Square D 30amp breaker 1 50 amp duplex outlet 1- Plate Cover Am I missing anything or would you get anything different? TIA, Jeff

Residential Charging Stations -- Now what?
Earthdog replied to meyersnole's topic in Batteries & Charging
Well in case this is for my office and the panel is right by the door so it will come right out of the panel and the plug will be less than 6 inches away. I plan on keep the fusion for 3 years but we may by other EV's in the future.
