  1. The Check Engine only came on when I started my car a few times. I could restart it and it would turn off immediately. Since they did the software upgrade, I notice the check engine flashes away a lot quicker than before. It used to always appear, then disappear (outside of the 3 times it stayed on). Now it pretty much doesn't even flicker on during startup. I have a MaxiScan MS300. Would this find error codes for my car?
  2. I have a reader for my 2003 Pontiac Vibe. Will this work for the FFE? Is there any difference between using a reader and going into maintenance mode? I plugged my reader in after it occurred the second time and saw no error codes. I took it in for service today They said no error codes appeared and they reprogramed my PCM. I do have my doubts to the quality of the work performed, because I could tell the person that took my car on a test drive drove the car erratically by the yellow colors on the dash and my driving score that appeared on the web. I'm going to wait a few days to see if the issue comes back. Regardless, the service manager will be getting a phone call from me.
  3. I have had my car a whole 2 weeks. I went to wash it yesterday and notice someone with a white car hit mine. My brand new black car has white paint and scratches near the passenger tire. The tire is fine, it looks like about $1,100 in damage. Over the past two days, i've started my car twice and the service engine soon light stays on. It does not let me take the car out of park. I had to start and re-start and it goes away and drives normal I have a hard time thinking these two issues are related. My car was probably hit the evening of November 7, but it could have been anywhere between November 2 and November 9. The service engine light came on November 9 and November 10. Anyone get a service engine light at such a young age? My 2015 FFE has 700 miles on it.
  4. Above it is stated if there enough regen to climb out of the hybrid portion back into the EV portion. I've never seen that happen. I assumed if my Hybrid only stayed at full, I might be able to climb back up. It just seems like it gets to half too quickly.
  5. Since I got my new car a couple weeks ago, I've been able to stay in plug in mode the majority of the time. I do notice when I cycle into Hybrid mode, the battery seems to become half filled (according to the dash) almost instantly...And tends to float 1/2 to 3/4. Is that normal?
  6. Thanks for the feedback. Is there any how-to manual on when it's ok to stay in battery only, when to set to auto, when to delay EV use? I assume it's ok to do battery only if going under 20 miles. I would think if you are taking a long trip that ends up in mountains maybe you'd want to delay burning through the electric charge. And all other scenarios in between.
  7. I'm only 350 miles into my car I just bought last week. Today I drove to work for the first time. I drove in EV mode and burned through the 19 miles by the time I got to work. The charging station was restricted and I couldn't get access to it to recharge. As a result, I drove home w/o the ability to be in EV mode. To say the car was sluggish would be an understatement. The ride home was predominately uphill. I did something extreme on the way home, i went up the steepest street in LA (Baxter Street), similar to some of the steepest streets in SF. Then I went up a highway that has a gradual elevation. The car didn't want to go above 60 on the FWY unless I put my foot all the way down on the accelerator I assumed once the 19 miles was used up, the car would operate like a regular hybrid. What am I missing?
  8. I got my Energi (no navigation) out the door for $33,375 after all my rebates. The XPlan would have been over $36,000. Glad I decided to negotiate rather than use
  9. Since I want the leather seats, I have found an Hybrid SE with an option package is the same price as an Energi once the tax credits are factored in. I can live w/o the extra trunk space.
  10. I am looking at purchasing a 2014/5 Fusion Energi SE. While test driving, I thought the Fusion Energi SE stickers showed the same MPG as the SE Hybrid. That is 44/41. I'm currently looking at window stickers on ford.com, and it states "electric plus gasoline" as 88 and "gasoline only" at 38. Assuming I'm on a long trip w/o access to a plug in charge, is the mileage on this car the same as the Fusion SE Hybrid?
