Regenerative braking when 100% charged.
cegarbage replied to cegarbage's topic in Batteries & Charging
Since I start driving downhill, it was suggested here to only charge my car up to 95%. I started observing the leaf icon on the touchscreen. The battery percentage on the leaf icon on the touch is always the same as the number that shows when I toggle the EV button and view the percentage remaining on the left dash..unless it's greater than 95%. It appears when the car is fully charged, the leaf icon on the touchscreen will say 100%. However, on the left side of the dash it never goes above 95%. Anyone know why? -

I am not seeing a MFT display in my 2015 Fusion, or any display that shows this. Can you point me to right side/left side, and possibly a photo? I only see the EV regenerated data when I turn off the car on the left side. I'd love to see in real time. -
JATR4 isn't providing any benefit to the string, so I'm going to make this solved before it degenerates further. Thanks to some of you that provided suggestions!

It's absolutely not an issue with me not starting the car right. For kicks, I consciously started the car without my foot on the break and it started. That's the first, and last time I will ever do that, I'm normally parked in my garage and would risk driving through it if my foot weren't on the break. There have been times when this has occurred that the gear shift has locked and I have been unable to move between gears. I don't have it on recording. The one good point mentioned was the green light does not appear in all cases. I didn't notice that. The only thing I can think is it's difficult to tell if an electric ignition really starts because they start so quietly. At least in the last video, it is apparent by the camera I did start the ignition because you can see my right hand turn the ignition back off before restarting. The next time this occurs I'm going to stick my reader in the port and see if I can get a reading. Since the error resets itself and is not being held, it does not appear I can get a reading without it.

I can't imagine putting my foot on the accelerator to backup without starting up with my foot on the brake. Especially since each scenario I would have rammed into a cement wall if I went forward. I think the green car on the dash is not ready to drive because the check engine light is on. So, "chicken and egg" scenario. But I appreciate your comment and will stick in the memory bank the next time it appears...And I'm certain it will appear.

The coach bars show up on the right for 2015.

Thanks for the suggestions. A few days ago the car was 1/3 filled, the other videos from November show the tank one notch below full. I never top off. I ran a vehicle health Saturday and nothing showed up.

Here are 2 other videos I took in November when the car had less than 1,000 miles on it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ysspbZRkg4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bi2_1nRHA84

I took it to the dealer. They can't find anything in their tech bulletins. I posted to car complaints web site, hopefully it will be posted soon. There has to be someone out there that has had this happen to them. If this occurs on your car please get ahold of me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gipuB1Zx7p8

Regenerative braking when 100% charged.
cegarbage replied to cegarbage's topic in Batteries & Charging
Another newbie question...In regards to my original post about capturing energy..If the plug portion is exhausted (or I forget to plug in), will regular hybrid mode capture energy and store it in the same manner as the plug in portion. I was pleasantly surprised to go 30 miles today in EV with 71MPG. I do live at the 1800 level and drop down to sealevel in the first 6 miles of the 30 mile ride. When the car is in plug in mode, I can flip over to EV later and see energy recaptured as the percentage goes up. However, in EV only mode the EV later is not active so I can't see how energy is recaptured. -
I only have a desktop, so this isn't easy. Is there any off the shelf device I can plug into the port that will recognize all Ford error codes?

Regenerative braking when 100% charged.

Is there anyway to set the car to only charge the car to 96%? -
I live up a hill. When I leave my house, I have to drive 100% of the time downhill. If I leave my home with an 80% charge, by the time I'm on the freeway it's normally up to 85% from all the downhill braking I do. So, I'm curious if I leave my home at a 100% charge, is there a spot to capture all that energy, or am I better served by only charging my car up to 95%?

Is there a how-to for this program. I searched and something isn't clicking. I'm used to getting a reading in a serial port. How could a Windows 7 device run a scan? I only have portable Android and Chromebook devices. I can bring my windows 7 desktop out to the car if necessary.

When I first got my car in October, I was getting service engine errors. I took the car in on 11/28 and they reprogrammed the PCM. I had the service engine light come on again today, the first time since then. I do not have any recalls that need to be applied to my car. I tried using a MaxiScan ODBII Scan Tool and no errors came up. Would this device be able to detect an error code? This is a 2015 Fusion Energi with 3300 miles on it.

It looks like these need to be installed by an electrician. That's probably overkill in terms of cost v. benefit. What is kWh "total consumption" on "trends" within the ford mobile app telling me?
-
On the Ford app under 'trends', it shows total kWh consumption for the month. Is that number solely from plugging in? I'm trying to determine how much kWh I have used from charging since I bought the car 3 months ago. Some days I charge the full 7 kWh, others half, sometimes two times a day. Is that data available anywhere?

2015 FFE Transmission shift a little harsh
cegarbage replied to cegarbage's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
Its not a parking brake issue. I've accidentally had it on a couple times when getting out of park and get a louder noise..which i expected. It seems like unless I baby it out of park to drive its going to make a little thump. Shifting within other gears is much easier than getting out of park -

I don't keep track, but probably a little of both. Sometimes I run short errands and leave the car in EV only. -
My FFE has only 2,500 miles on it. I find when I go from park to drive, I hear a little thump. I find that I have to change the gears extremely slowly to not hear anything. Does anyone else have that issue?

The 33,375 is before my state rebate and federal credit

I filled up my car for the first time. The tank represented all of "trip 1". According to trip 1, I was 123.2 MPG. But when I divide the miles by the gallons, it comes to 115.7. Is it normal to have a delta? If so, why?

I noticed somewhere recently it states the myford app is free for 5 years. Has the app been around long enough for people to be charged? I'm curious what they are charging. I believe people can charge what they want and I can choose whether to buy. in this case, it's useful, but I wouldn't pay for it. Most people who buy these cars expect to achieve savings by owning it a long time. I wouldn't expect this app to work forever and be free forever, but I'm surprised they hint at charging customers after only 5 years.

Thanks, I do not recall seeing the bumper before. I guess I never looked. I am unsure yet if i trust the lines that are angling me in reverse. Glad it's just not me. But I do find it extremely helpful and never anticipated using it. This car is much bigger than my old.
-
The camera I look at when I go in reverse appears a little off centered. I had my windows tinted, i think the guy may have nudged it slightly, it seems like i see part of the car when i'm in reverse now. Where exactly is the camera?
