  1. Well, my wife and I finally took delivery of our 2013 Bordeaux Reserve Metallic Fusion Energi Titanium. Thats a mouthful. A big, grinning ear to ear mouthful! Now, I drive what I think is a pretty damn nice car, a 2006 Audi A6 4.2L Quattro, pretty much loaded, and maybe its just the new car feel, the tightness of a new car, the new smell or something similar, but I am extremely jealous that my wife will be behind the wheel of our newest addition the majority of the time. Super jealous. This car drives so nice! The lane keeping is REALLY cool. I was giggling like a school girl while the car was bouncing line-to-line. Certainly not meant to drive itself, but very effective in keeping within the lane. Being my car was built Feb 9th, I appear to have gotten a job2 build, hence no aluminum pedals and no touch-sensitive moonroof controls. Not too disappointed with either as the moonroof buttons are really unobtrusive, and nicely recessed in the panel. The pedals would have been a nice touch, but lets face it, they are down where you shouldn't be looking when you're driving anyways. As most who've taken delivery have said, the trunk is small but definitely usable for many more things than I was anticipating. We made a Costco trip on the way home (::gasp:: on a Saturday?!?!) and had no issues schlepping things in. I have yet to get the iOS PHEV app working. The app kept telling me there was a communication issue and to contact such and such if it continues. I'll keep working on that. We had 21 EV miles listed when we took off from the dealer, but a few parking lot stops to play with things depleted that sooner than normal in the sub-freezing temps today. I can't say enough about the drive-train. When we first needed the ICE about 15 miles in, we had the radio up only in the slightest and I COULD NOT tell when the ICE actually kicked in. Very smooth and quiet. Now as we drained the EV range even more, the ICE did get higher revving and more noisy, but nothing terrible as some report with hybrids and/or CVTs. The different gauge options on the left-hand mini-screen are really cool and it is quite easy to see exactly what is going on with the car and drivetrain. Still haven't played much with all the electronics and fun stuff. That will have to wait for tomorrow. For now it is feeding at home on its included charger. My wife is on 3rd shift tonight and I want it to get a decent charge before she takes off. The included charger leaves something to be desired. It is a tidy package, but I can see how it would become a real pain to wind and unwind each time between charging as is required by the OEM, so I will likely be adding an L2 EVSE to the garage sooner rather than later so she can just use the 120v at work while she's on her 12's. Her work offered to look into getting an L2 in the parking lot, but we haven't heard anything in a few weeks. That would be awesome! But for now we are hoping there's just a 120v somewhere close she can use. Oh, I was so excited to talk about the car, I forgot to mention the delivery process. So from the beginning, I got real lucky on finding this car as it is exactly what my wife and I decided we'd order when we started looking mid-February. It just so happened a dealer in the area had ordered it in November and it was built Feb 9th. We made the purchase, putting down a deposit on the 19th of Feb. We were told it'd be there in about two weeks, but that didn't happen. Another week went by and we were told it was on a train in New Mexico. This week came and it was dropped at the trucking company Wednesday night, so they called and said they'd likely have it Thursday. No dice there either. They got a couple truckloads of cars in that time but ours wasn't one. Salesman called Friday around 11 and said they finally got it. Of course they did! We couldn't go Friday! Anyways, we took delivery of it today, Saturday. We got there and the salesman said he had it waiting in the service drop-off for us to check over. I checked the paint really well in the good lighting in the service bay since I had seen some posts on BlueOval about bad paint jobs. Ours is perfect. We also noticed a couple of hand written signs placed on the front bumper and the dash stating "DO NOT INSTALL FRONT PLATE BRACKET" LOL. That was something we hounded our salesman on. Though its law in Illinois, we really dislike the look of the front plate, especially on this car and my Audi. Most police I know won't write you for it anyways. They might pull you over for it, but they likely won't write you. AAAAnyways, he certainly followed through on that request! My wife also asked the porter to move her low-profile plate frame from our trade onto the Fusion, thus removing the advert frame that is so obtrusive IT should be outlawed. We did take note of the ugly dealer sticker on the decklid too, but decided not to bother them with that as I'm pretty good at removing those with her hairdryer! Now back inside to finalize the purchase. We took advantage of the $1,500 rebate and I had finally gotten a bunch of the $750 Private cash coupons from the plethora of brochures I ordered after I panicked about having thrown one away just before deciding to make this purchase. OOOps! But it turned out they didn't need it in-hand anyways. If you've ever gotten one, they will likely apply it to your purchase just by looking up your name and address in their rebate system. Just make sure you tell them about it as my salesman neglected to offer it even though it was likely listed when he was looking up the $1500 rebate. Cool beans, no trouble there. We had already negotiated the price weeks prior, so this was supposed to be pretty painless. We had also already secured financing outside of the dealer, but of course the Finance Manager had to try to sell us on theirs so that took a little bit to shut him down. He also tried the extended warranty sell. No thanks, just not for me. A bunch of papers later and we were walking outside with our salesman so he could "teach" us how to use the car. Oh boy! heeeere we go. I consider myself quite tech savvy and have taken delivery of my share of new cars, most pretty tech-heavy. Never once has the salesman ever taught me something I didn't know in this process. He had earlier boasted of having gone through a 3 hour course to be able to sell the EVs Ford offers, but I had the power of these forums, Blue Oval forums, and the manuals, and brochures I had downloaded weeks prior as well as the Ford PHEV website, so I knew this would be another brutal experience of watching the salesman point out the obvious and sometimes incorrect information. Sooooo, I decided to let my wife take the front seat. I sat in the back while the salesman struggled. Keep in mind I had also briefed my wife on some things as well, and being that she has to work tonight, she wasn't happy the finance manager took more of our time than needed and was starting to get sore of the wait in general, so she was kind of bored to begin with. I swear she nearly fell asleep. Were it not for the MyFordTouch Lady responding to my salesman's accented requests, I am sure she would have. He struggled with the SD card for the navigation. When he finally got it in, the navigation was updating. Apparently this slowed the computer down enough to really make the MFT slow to respond, so it was even more brutal watching him go through the motions. I nearly broke out in the back seat with comical laughter as the MFT/SYNC system just sat there after he yelled his voice command trying to show off the system. It probably didn't help my situation that I've had voice-control in all of my past 4 vehicles, and used it in precisely none of them. I don't intend to use it in this one either. It just isn't fast or accurate enough yet. Strange since its been around for the better part of the last decade at least. Anyways, he finished up with asking us to call him with any questions we had on the system or the car, thanked us for waiting for the car, and for him and his co-workers today. I mostly joke about this delivery experience as being comical, but he really did make an effort and I can't say it was a terrible experience, so I can't complain too much. He did his job at least as expected. Anyways, thanks for listening! Sorry for taking so much of YOUR time!! Pleas let me know if you have any questions or want me to explain anything, Happy to help those still stuck waiting! Live vicariously through me! Now here are some rewards (I hope they post correctly):
  2. Just picked mine up today and the aluminum pedals are absent. Kinda stinks, but I guess we wont be looking at them much anyways.
  3. Took delivery today!! After a few delays from their estimates, the dealership finally got it yesterday, but my wife and I couldn't get to the dealer until today! That was a tough enough wait, so I really feel for those of you who've been waiting for months! The dealership got their first three Energis in in the last two days and sold them all today. Mine, a white one and a black one. I'll remind you I happened to find my car as a dealer ordered car about three weeks ago. They gave me the history on it and it shows the dealer ordered it in November. I lucked out big time that no one else had spoken for my beauty in that time. I'll post more in my own thread in the welcome section I think. Just wanted to update everyone on my order/build/delivery in this thread and so the database can be updated.
  4. Ok, thanks for the confirmation. Strange that tirerack has it wrong. Yeah, I guess we'd need someone to weigh the wheel/tire combo. Ahem, hint hint, ahem. Lol. And then the same for the 18s and or 19s.
  5. Just got word mine is about 4 hours south of my dealer, still choochooing along. They think there's a slight chance it might make their overnight delivery truck. We'll see! So excited!
  6. Meyersnole, can you verify the size of your tires? 225's or 235's?
  7. Very good info. Strange decision on their part to have two different, but very similar apps. I guess I'll see more once I can get my car and add it. Took me a bit to find the new app. Realized after a bit that I was searching iPad apps and its designed as an iPhone app and listed as such. Lol. Anywho, thanks for the headsup meyersnole! I'm sure my dealership wouldn't have had a clue. Mine and a VIN+1 will be their first Fusion Energis delivered. Hopefully this week!
  8. I've seen mumblings on blue-oval of a price increase. My sticker shows old (lower) prices. I guess that'd be because its already invoiced. Must be high demand for these options? I know they're having supply issues with the moonroof too.
  9. I'd imagine, even if there was a delay of that nature on the BIG railroad, that it wouldn't be long at all to solve the issue. Especially near or in where they have a switching yard in Tucson. --edited for yard location--
  10. But they do have the Mondeo! Mondeo is a Fusion for the EU. No doubt the rest of the info on Etis is likely correct, though the drop down of the features can be misleading at best.
  11. The progress is now known! Called my salesman and it is on the rails! New Mexico currently! He thinks next week based on his previous experience tracking a vehicle like this. I didn't delve into getting more details. I don't think I could stand it if I had a way to track it's progress to the minute. This isn't much easier, but at least my Internet will thank me for less traffic.
  12. Just refreshed the search inventory page which shows my car. First time today, and it no longer says dealer ordered!!! Yaaaay! Progress, albeit unknown progress! I might do something irrational if the dealership actually calls today!
  13. Yeah, I just played around (since i cant play the new simcity because of broken servers. Yes, I'm a nerd) on the search inventory website, plopping in zip codes from around the country. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to how things get done. LOTS of Energi Ti's show in stock on dealer lots with VIN sequences much higher than mine. I only found one with the date on the sticker as anything but 2-15-13 like mine has. I'd looooove to talk with Ford logistics and see how this all works. Again. I'm a nerd. Logistics interests me. Lol
  14. Couldn't tell you why, but all of them show as transits. On another note, I pulled up my window sticker like I normally do every hour or so, lol, and notice a date on it in the line two under Hermosillo. Anyone know what that is? Mine reads 2-15-13, but etis shows my build date of 2-9-13. Shouldn't have taken 6 days to get through. I swear that date was not always on there.
  15. Well, my ETA came and went with no call and the search inventory still shows my car as "dealer ordered." I wonder if the ETA they gave me is a Ford Factory ETA or just one my salesman thought would be reasonable. I'd like to think that it was the snowstorm yesterday that delayed it, but not much hope in that. Bad part is my financier gave me the check last week. I wonder if they charge me interest if its not cashed until the car is delivered in June, lol.
  16. Yeah, that's according to the dealer's estimate from my purchase date two weeks ago tomorrow though. I'm not holding much hope, but the dealer called last week and said its on the ramp whatever that ACTUALLY means for this car, lol. But I have seen some local dealers' "dealer ordered" energis changing to regular stock on the inventory search on the ford website, so that's encouraging. But then there's the snow storm we're getting tomorrow. 7-10 inches for 20 some miles is not ideal for driving home a new car. So I won't be too unhappy if it doesn't come in.
  17. JD, Mind adding me to the list? 3FA6P0SU6DR240946 Thanks!
  18. I'll be interested in seeing if the ford brochure Energi size of 225/50-17 is a misprint or not. Most if not all other Fusion trims have a tire size with ~766 revs/mile. According to the brochure, the Energi's tire has 780. Just seems a little off to me. Especially when tirerack.com shows the stock tire being a 235/50-17. I get that a thinner tire would have less rolling resistance, making up the MPGe due to the heavier battery pack, but won't the diameter change this figuring as well? Anyone have their Energi yet to verify this? I'm hoping mine is here this week! Not looking too forward to the small, sort of ugly wheels, but I'll live.
  19. I was a little behind the game on getting this car so when I started looking I noticed the exact car we wanted on the ford website. It was a "dealer ordered" on the search inventory page on ford website. Turns out no one had spoken for it yet. I got lucky in other words!
  20. Yeah, I emailed my salesman to thank him for calling me with the vehicle update and asked him to look into this. He did and has said he will apply it to the purchase even though i don't have it in-hand. Makes you wonder why he didn't apply it to begin with. I believe he was looking in Vincent while we were there because he suggested I might qualify for police association discount. Oh well, I guess that's their way of making the extra bucks. Always be informed when you're buying a car!!
  21. Will you invest my money?! I'd love to get 5%! Lol, kudos to you though! ;-) If the second remark was a general remark, then disregard, but if it references my earlier post, I can only defend myself by blaming the larger than expected refund on getting married during last tax year. I elected for the worst, but it turned out better. I am certainly no tax expert or accountant, so ill try to do better for this year, but a large refund ain't so bad, even if the govt did make more from it than I ever could.
  22. The government says the leasing company gets the rebate, not the person leasing the vehicle. My understanding is that that's why Ford is offering the $3,750 incentive on leases of the Energi. To pass that rebate they will get by having produced the qualifying car and leased it to an individual. That qualifies them to receive the rebate, so now they're passing it on to their leasing customer. If you lease through a third party (not Ford financial) you might not ever get that rebate.
  23. Hi everyone. Been watching these forums for bit and appreciate how long a lot of you've been waiting. I now know how lucky I was to find a dealer who had ordered the exact car/options we were looking for! Using these forums, I found the Etis website and found my car was built on the 9th of Feb. just got a call from the dealer saying they are told the car is on the ramp awaiting shipment. He thinks 5 or 7 days. Next week!!!? Sweet! I'm still a bit skeptical, but here's hoping for the best!
  24. Thanks for finding this link! I've been trying to get some official answers to some questions as the dealers seem more confused than the media. This is the ticket! As far as black boxes go, I'm all for them. I'm a cop and have seen firsthand some ugly ugly crashes, a lot resulting in deaths or disabilities. I must say, these make life a whole lot easier to live after dealing with one of these tough crashes. Takes a lot of guesswork away and we can go on living, knowing the right conclusion was reached. Science doesn't lie, withhold evidence, or deceive. People do. And these boxes, though admittedly not to the extent or sophistication as today, have been in cars for over a decade, though only accessible by extensive means. So I wouldn't don the tinfoil yet! ;-)
