  1. Boy, you got that right. I live 60 miles west of Chicago. I had to fly to suburban Baltimore to get the FFET I wanted, right around the same time you got yours (I see the thread's a few months old). Welcome to the forum.
  2. This'll be kinda random and, while I know I could solve most of this with a few calls, I'm also fishing for any related information from all of you who are smarter, and have more experience with this car, than me, so I figured I'd post here. I have 3,900 miles on my 2014 FFET that I bought new in August, and my check engine light came on (solid) and is staying on. I haven't attempted to clear it by disconnecting the battery or anything. At the time of the purchase I also bought one of those Flood Ford extended service plans, and I bought the one which is supposed to cover just about everything on the car and includes a loaner at drop-off time. My questions are like this: 1. Can I expect for my FFET to be serviced by _any_ Ford dealer? Or am I required to take the vehicle to an "electric certified" dealer? (I have the former in my town; the latter, I'd have to drive about 40 miles.) I had to travel well out-of-state to buy my car, so taking it to the dealer who sold me the car, isn't an option. 2. I read something about a software update that might address some false warnings. Would this potentially still apply to my 2014 bought very late in the model year? 3. Anyone else have the CEL go off this early into their ownership (3900 miles)? Would appreciate any feedback or related comments.
  3. Hi all; I'm Brian, and I guess you'd say I wanted what I wanted. I live in northern Illinois, and the 2014 FFEs around here are sparse, and none of the 2015s have arrived, and no dealer around here was willing to commit to an arrival date or to take a deposit to hold one, despite agreeing on the selling price. The closest I could finally find the car I wanted (FFE Titanium, tuxedo black, fully loaded), was 1000 miles away, in Owings Mills, MD. Having the car shipped would've been easier, but I wanted to see the car in person before buying, and flying out to Baltimore and driving the car back was an excuse for an adventure, so I took it. I'm absolutely thrilled with it so far! I got a good laugh when I set the adaptive cruise control, turned on the auto-correcting version of the lane assist, and sat back and let the car drive itself (I was fully ready to intervene if I had to)...this was okay for about fifteen seconds and two lane corrections, at which time the car politely told me to return my hands to the steering wheel. :) I did what I was told, relieved that the car was smarter than me! My drive to work today cost me less than $1 in fuel, compared to the $3.50 it used to take. That projects out to be an extra $100/month in my pocket just from work commutes alone, and I am NOT unhappy about that! If I could get my workplace to give me access to an outlet while at work, it'd be even cheaper. Just wanted to introduce myself...hopefully I can hit you guys up with 47 random FFE questions and not get chased off the forum.
  4. Same story with me--I'm flying out to Maryland from Illinois in a week to get the FFE Titanium that had the options I wanted. Not much supply in the midwest while we're between model years...
  5. Pinned like the Iron Sheik by Hulk Hogan in the 1980s!
