I'm using this app on a Droid Razor Android phone. I can't get it to remember my login info, even if I check the Remember Me box. Any ideas? It stinks because the require such a "Fort Knox" type password.

It's almost like the sheet metal is thinner. You really notice it when you wash and wax the hood.

Opinion on seat comfort; opinion on charging port security
mczajka replied to howardbc's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
1) My biggest concern about the Volt was the seat (no lumbar). I tried one for a week and couldn't get comfortable. I'm tall with a bad lower back. I also owned a Fusion 2010 Hybrid which had a manual lumbar, and my opinion is the power lumbar on the Fusion Energi is a little better. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my seats, but I also have the Titanium Model. These may be slightly different than an SE (I'm not sure). My seats mold to your sides and have quite a few adjustments. 2) These cars look so much like a standard car that most people don't notice the charge door. Yes, it would be nice if it could lock and was beefier. Seems a little flimsy to me. I went to a Tesla Model S meetup and most people didn't even notice my car :(. I think it would be cool if you could keep the led "battery remaining" circle light on when you are driving. Then people would notice it, especially at night. -
Your trunk should stay open, so that's definitely a problem. I have experienced the problem with the power windows too, but it could be user error/sensitivity?

Today I got 23.1 coming into DC, with 3-4 left to spare. I turned the A/C compressor off, and this did make a difference. It netted me 2-3 miles. This is real world driving with some hypermiling (about 4 of the 23.1 was regen miles). I was going 55-60 on some stretches, and 35-40 on other stop and go stretches. I really pay attention to coasting down hills. And the weather has been great! One of the things I noticed last night is my garage was quite warm (after a day in the low 90's) and when the car was charging, the fans were going full tilt. I'm hoping when I get my Level 2 Charging Station installed to start the charging at 3 in the morning when the garage has cooled down a bit. Anyone concerned about charging their car in a very hot garage during the summer? I'm also getting a long enough cord with my Level 2 Unit (25 feet) to be able to run this out to the driveway and charge outside.

I got 23.1 this morning, 3 of which were regen miles. I just saw the thread about the ac/compressor, and I believe mine was on, even though the light is off. I need to research this more.

I waxed my car last weekend and I'm concerned about the rigidity of some of the plastics up front. These components look great from a distance, but the grill and the front spoiler have some really thin plastic components which look like they could break easily. I think we all like the Aston Martin type grill, but if some after market products come out, I may consider replacing it. The components up front on my 2010 Fusion Hybrid seemed a little more rigid. What do you think?

That's it? 295 Energi's sold in March... (414 overall) /sigh
mczajka replied to shaggy314's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
Yeah, that's pretty good. Will these cars ever deliver the same numbers as the Volt? I'm not sure. But they will cut into Volt sales for sure. These numbers should go up as people get a chance to talk to others and experience the nice ride the car offers. -
My friend also asked me if a fully charged car sits for a while (a few days, a week/), does it lose range.

I've had 25. How about you? Can't say that I actually got 25 though.

Residential Charging Stations -- Now what?
mczajka replied to meyersnole's topic in Batteries & Charging
I'm assuming that these are not publicly displayed, otherwise you would be seeing all of them (residential units) right now. I think the main benefit is that you could monitor your energy usage via their website. Other systems which are about the same price don't have this capability. If I'm going to spend $700-$1000 for a system like this, I would like to have some metering capability. -

I contacted the people at ChargePoint to see if they would sell me the unit they installed for free into many residences for collecting data for the Feds (this program is over). They said they would sell me a CT500 for $900. The benefit to a system like this is that they would also include the 2G connectivity required to collect data and analyze it over the Web, like they do for the others. Still not sure what I'm going to do. 110 is working just fine. The Ford 110 unit is quite nice, doesn't get hot like some of the others (I've heard). Perhaps it's set very low though (I know these things are controllable by the Volt, but not sure what Ford is doing/standardizing on) . They also said I could use my own electrician. -
I had a Volt for one week. To this day, I wish I still could fit into a Volt, primarily for the range, but the Fusion Energi Titanium is the second best thing and excels in several areas where Volt doesn't (mentioned above). I think it has a better ride. My friend says it feels like a Cadillac. I was about to buy a C-Max, but the dealer just got a white Fusion Energi Titanium in, and I fell in love with it. I wasn't too crazy about the black interior, but I park underground during the day, so I didn't think it was a big deal. I still might have the windows tinted, but I've never had that done, so I'm concerned about quality issues. I don't have the sun roof or collision warning system. One thing to also note that doesn't get mentioned a lot is that the Volt requires premium fuel, the Fusion Energi does not!

Peter, please let us know how things go with the Versicharge. I'm seriously considering it, and I might hold out for the SG model. It looks a little big, although smaller than the GE unit, but I think most people that have them are happy with it. Of course my main concern is having a good EVSE with a 3 year warrantee that I feel confident in plugging into a $40K car. There's a good video review on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/review/R326WFD7J8U5X/ref=cm_cr_dp_title?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B0083ZZFEA&nodeID=228013&store=hi -
There is no quick and easy answer to this. I really like the hold mode, for example. Where I can use the energy when I feel I can get the most out of it, like on flat surfaces and coasting. If you drive it like a regular car, I don't think your're going to hit 21. Temperatures also have A LOT to do with it. I had a plugin Prius for a month while they were beta testing them. It's range in optimum conditions was 13 miles. In 20-30 degree temperatures, it was more like 8-9 miles. All of these things, plus your driving habits will factor into this.

2013 Fusion Energi Titanium question - Aluminum Pedals?
mczajka replied to mczajka's topic in Lounge - Fusion Energi
Car is fantastic. I'm close to 200 miles myself. A few things I finally figured out. I was like, "why do my high beams keep going on?" It's a feature. They go on and off automatically and detect oncoming traffic headlights, at quite an incredibally far distance. Also, when you get down to about 5 miles of EV range remaining, giant concentric circles appear on the map around your location/arrrow, showing you on the map about how much range you have left. This is pretty cool. -
I purchased a Fusion Energi Titanium yesterday and I love it! The only snag right now is that all the brochures said it would have Aluminum Pedals. But the car does not have them, and Ford now does NOT list them here: http://www.ford.com/cars/fusion/trim/titaniumenergi/ but they do here: http://www.ford.com/cars/fusion/trim/titanium/. So, what happened to them on the Energi? Safety problem? I've got my dealer looking into it. :(
