  1. Has anyone had this done? My dealer can't get the parts for this, and it's been over 6 months.
  2. When I'm in EV mode, and I'm braking, and at the same time driving over a bridge seam or bump in the road, the car has a tendency to lurch forward. Is this the traction control kicking in? It's typically in stop and go traffic when I am going 20-30 mph (not fast). It's a little scary. I hope a car is never right in front of me. It makes me now coast over these spots and not brake right on them. My Spark EV doesn't do this.

  5. If you buy a jumper, make sure you keep it in the cabin area/back seat. My 2013 model has no way to get into the trunk without power (poor design, wonder if they fixed it), unless you can reach the trunk release through the pass-through from the back seat.
  6. bobnfloyd, sorry to hear about that. I had my car plugged in at the airport, but I had not started the charge session properly (mixup with loaner ChargePoint card the parking lot let me use). When I returned about a week later, the 12v was dead. I guess you have to be careful with this. I was one of the unfortunate ones with the short in the trunk, causing 12v problems. Surprised to check in and see others had the same issue.
  7. Moral of the story...remember the access code to the car door and get rid of all shorts that have no pockets... On Saturday, I went to the gym then to a grocery store close by. I purchased some items and put my wallet, cell phone, and keyfob in the grocery bag. You can probably tell where this is going...got back to the car, put the bags in the trunk and then closed the trunk. This has got to be the worst feeling!!! Now thoughts start going through my head, what do I do now? I walked back to the gym and got access to a Web browser. Logged into My Ford Mobile and tried to unlock the door remotely. Didn't work. It said there was a communication error (try later). The last time there was an update from the car was when I was parked at the gym. The store is about 1/8 mile away - not far. So, the Update button did not work either. Before I started calling friends and having them run around town, I called Ford's Roadside Assistance number. The gym let me use their phone. They called someone to come out to my car to get me in. They used an inflatable bladder to create enough space to insert a wire to open the door via the door handle. Now here's the strange part...the alarm went off, which is normal. I opened the trunk to get the keyfob and cell phone. The cell phone received a text saying the alarm was triggered. WHAT??? Why was the car able to communicate with the cloud, but not My Ford Mobile, to unlock the door?
  8. That's interesting. I haven't been able to find anything about it related to our model, but I would definitely hear it in a tunnel. I did find some similar things on the Prius forums. I think it was so bad on one car that they replaced the inverter. I wish I could record it, but I don't think it's loud enough. Mine sounds more like a high pitch brake squeak, but it doesn't happen at slower speeds (5-15 mph).
  9. I'm getting a sound like brake squeaking, except it's not as loud, and it only happens when I'm braking or accelerating in the 30-40 mph range. It's consistent when accelerating in EV mode, and when braking at speed. I'm not getting it at slower speeds or when braking hard at a stop. Doesn't happen when coasting. At higher speeds, I think because of other noises, I can't hear it as much. You can hear it with the windows open, but when the windows are closed, it's less pronounced, although when you are familiar with the sound, you can still hear it. Of course I took the car in for an oil change, wheel balance, brake check, and they didn't find anything. I may have to have them drive with me so I can point it out. Any ideas or any other similar experiences? Something regen related? Something misaligned?
  10. Sorry I haven't been monitoring this in a while. I think it's more of a thing when I pull into the garage with the engine running, and shut the car off. If I think about it, I will try to record it. But it doesn't happen all the time.
  11. When I pull the car into the garage, power off, and get out. There is a sound from the engine compartment, like the electric motor is winding down, then I hear a high pitched sound at the end. Is this anything to worry about? I'll try to record and post sometime.
  12. I remote started the car while plugged in on a very cold day and the engine started in my garage. My question now is, could Go Times ever start the engine if it was really, really cold (say under 10 degrees)? Or are Go Times ONLY ALWAYS using electric.
  13. TSB 13-5-28 worked!!! Good timing with the latest chill. Ashley, Ford needs to update the TSB text to include the fixing of Go Times functioning. It appears this is only with very early Fusion Energi models.
  14. They finally agreed to install the TSB 13-5-28 after discussing it with their warranty manager. Thanks to everyone who helped and sent me direct messages with ideas. That is what this forum is all about! Helping each other, especially the early adopters of this new technology! I'll give you an update in a few weeks after I take it in.
  15. Thanks. How did you know the car was drawing power? My car appears to be doing nothing during this time (period before set Go Time). What exactly should happen? Any displays or lights on? Any similarities to remote start, which does work from my app.
  16. Ok Jeff, I need some help. You must have a good service person at your local dealer. Unfortunately, while I love my dealer, it appears I'm working with a new service person. Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! (like Charlie Brown would say) I submit an online service ticket with two TSBs. The first one was the window up thingy, which they recreated and did. Unfortunately the 13-5-28 has nothing about Go Times and Cabin temp. in it, so I'm like having to play a game with them. Firstly, I must say that my car does nothing when the Go Times are set. Nothing inside comes on (I understand when they work, the screen is active inside the car?). The EVSE light just blinks (at the dealer and at home). I read your emails to them, and Clarence even looked up your name, and the CSR looked at your service ticket, but she was like "well, how am I going to get Ford to pay for this if it doesn't work?" Backtrack to a few days ago. I submit a detailed Web service ticket. I get a call back to call her. I explain the problems in detail, reference the forums, reference jeff_h who just bought his car there. Jeff_h lives out of my area but took advantage of a good end of year value on the Fusion Energi. Backtrack to earlier this morning. I drop the car off at 6:00 AM!!! No calls/questions during the day. When the tech. started working on the car, he/she could not find anything in their database. Then he looks at the Go Time settings. I had totally cleared them out (which was a mistake). Here's the writeup on the service ticket (mind you I filled out Web service ticket with the two TSB numbers and a complete explanation of what I want): CUST STATES THAT GO TIMES HAS NEVER WORKED. OPTION WAS TURNED OFF AND NO SCHEDULE SET UP. SET UP SCHEDULE AND TURNED OPTION ON. GO TIMES SET FOR 8 AM AND 5 PM. TEMP SET FOR 85 DEGREES IN AM AND 72 DEGREES IN PM Ok, you can continue reading after extreme laughter. They assumed my Go Times weren't working because I never set them. Hey, throw me a bone and call me. Duhhh. Terrible assumption. Is this customer service 101? I call the dealer on the way home today at about 4 PM..."what's up with the car?" Finally get a call back..."the tech noticed you never had your Go Times set." After about 5 minutes of arguing she finally agreed to wait until 5 PM (it was about 4:40 PM) to see if they would work. I don't think they were going to do this. I get there, and we wait. Nothing. She sets them for 5:15 PM...Nothing. "Well, I need to speak with our warranty person, and they are gone for the day." "Why can't people just go out and start their car anymore...?" "If the TSB doesn't work, Ford will not pay for it." Blahh blahh blahh....More concerned about Ford not paying than the customer. I told her, "well, I had my car in there for about 20 days past fall...you have an unhappy customer...isn't that enough to do something?" I was very calm, because I know in the end, I will get a call from the dealer "how was your service?" and I can go over this story with them. By the way, we looked up the build dates. My car was built on the same exact date as jeff_h's (I believe 2-12-13). I told her there's probably over a 50% chance this TSB will fix it. Since I've had other TSB's installed and other warranty work done, is this like insurance and claims? Did they spend so much in the 20 days fixing my other problem that now they are going to nickel and dime every little thing? Ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
  17. This should move a few more... http://insideevs.com/ford-fusion-energi-gets-a-4000-price-reduction-to-34700/ http://www.irs.gov/Businesses/30D.-New-Qualified-Plug-in-Electric-Drive-Motor-Vehicles-%E2%80%93-Ford-Motor-Company
  18. Frankly, if I had to do it all over again, I'd probably get one of these: http://www.engadget.com/2014/01/05/cobra-jumpack/ Pricey, but cool, and could serve other uses.
  19. Do it!!! You're not going to get a better deal on a 2013. I was an early adopter and paid about $41K (with some discounts) for my Titanium. In hindsight, I probably should have waited 6 months. There's a reason why sales are up right now and that's because there are a lot of deals going on right now. By the way, the so called "battery" question is the biggest misconception about these cars. It was probably one of the biggest hurdles Toyota had to overcome with the Prius. There are Prii out there with batteries over 10 years old running just fine. Many people who are not familiar with hybrids think that the big batteries have to be replaced every few years at a major expense.
  20. I have this one, although I haven't had to use it since the problems. It works great though and is small. It's a little hard to clamp onto the leads, but I don't know if they make one with smaller clamps. It's probably going to be a problem with all units with a standard clamp size. I did get caught with the charger being in the trunk scenario when the battery died, but I was able to open the trunk through the back seat with a car flag I had in the car that could reach the trunk release. 21. I just can't seem to get the go times to work. I set my go time for 6 am, but the car is not warm or doing anything when I check on it, and I set it to 85 deg. I can remote start from the app though and I assume since it it is still plugged in, I'm drawing from the plug and not the battery. Any idea what I should try to do? Or settings to look at? I've set and reset these a few times.
  22. Just a note about these posts. When I was having 12 volt battery problems (related to a wiring problem/damaged wire in my trunk which has been fixed) I needed to use a battery jumper. I purchased a Clore unit (http://www.cloreautomotive.com/sku.php?id=239). It's really nice, and worked great, but it was a little difficult pinching the ends onto the terminals. I wish they were narrower or Ford gave you more room to clamp onto them, especially the positive end. So, if you buy a battery jumper in a store, you might want to check this in the parking lot. I got mine from Amazon.
